Temporary Crossings. 7.1 Incised, Deep, Rough or Steep Channels: Permittee shall use a bridge, Xxxxxxxx, or modified Xxxxxxxx-type crossing on Class II and III watercourses that have incised, deep, rough, or steep channels to minimize bank disturbance. 7.2 Temporary crossings shall not restrict surface flows at the time of installation. 7.3 At all temporary crossings, logs, green slash, tops and/or straw xxxxx shall be used as fill instead of earthen material to the maximum extent feasible. 7.4 When surface water is present, temporary crossing fill shall only be composed of clean, durable, screened rock and a culvert or a combination of such rock, filter fabric, sound logs and green slash, and straw. These materials shall cause no siltation. Above this fill, a fractured rock or native soil cap may be installed to provide a compacted road surface. The cap's thickness and soil content shall not exceed the minimum necessary to provide for adequate compaction. No soil from the cap shall come in contact with the stream channel. 7.5 During temporary crossing deconstruction and removal activities, when stream crossings, stream channels, and fills are excavated, all materials shall be excavated down to the original stream channel and outwards, horizontally, as wide as or wider than the natural channel to form a channel as close as feasible to the natural stream grade and alignment.

Temporary Crossings. The State shall include provisions in its construction contract that the Contractor shall only cross the UPRR's tracks and right of way at existing open public crossings and that temporary contractor haul road crossings will only be allowed if absolutely necessary for the Project. If the Contractor, in good faith, believes that alternate public access cannot be utilized, then the Contractor shall submit design plans for the temporary crossing to the UPRR’s Assistant Vice President Engineering – Design or his authorized representative. The UPRR will then review such design plans and the need for the temporary crossing. If, in the sole discretion of the UPRR, a temporary crossing is needed for the Project, the UPRR will advise the Contractor if the design plans for the temporary crossing are acceptable and shall also provide to the Contractor a UPRR cost estimate for the UPRR’s installation and removal of the temporary crossing. If a temporary crossing is needed, the Contractor shall first execute the UPRR's Contractor's Road Crossing Agreement providing for the Contractor to be responsible for all costs and expenses in the UPRR's installation and removal of the Contractor's road crossing and any restoration costs involving the UPRR’s ballast or other track structure material.
Temporary Crossings. Lessee shall construct temporary crossings, in accordance with all safety standards, across open trenches and ditches to assure continued access, ingress, and egress for Lessor and other property owners, and their lessees, workers, and guests, to areas adjacent to the Project Area. Any streams located along or across the Project Area shall be maintained in a manner that flow is not disrupted during construction, and flow upon completion of construction can be maintained at the same rate and volume as prior to construction, with all workmanlike and accepted standards being followed for erosion of stream banks.

Temporary Crossings. If a temporary crossing is needed, obtain permission from the railroad company before crossing the tracks. Execute the “Agreement for Contractor’s Temporary Crossing” if required by the Railroad Company. The Contractor shall ensure that the tracks are left clear of equipment and debris that would endanger the safe operation of railroad traffic. Provide a crossing guard on each side of the crossing to direct equipment when hauling across the tracks. The Contractor shall stop construction traffic a safe distance away from the crossing upon the approach of railroad traffic. Work for temporary crossings will not be paid for directly, but shall be subsidiary to items of the Work subject of the Contract Documents. If the Contractor requires a temporary railroad crossing the Contractor shall arrange for the crossing installation at a location acceptable to the Contractor and CP at the Contractor’s expense to include all CP costs of installation, maintenance, removal, and track restoration. The temporary crossing shall be gated and locked at all times when not required for use by the Contractor. Flagging will always be required during use of a temporary crossing. The billing, Contractor payment provisions, and final Contractor payment requirements for crossing costs except flagging are to be covered as agreed to in a separate private construction crossing agreement between the Contractor and CP. Prior notice of need for a temporary crossing is required to allow for CP site review, cost estimating, securing material, and work crew scheduling and will vary.
