Temporary Fixed Term Employment. A temporary fixed term employee is one who is engaged on a regular basis, such as full time, but for a specified period of time which may be subject to change/extension by mutual agreement of the parties. A temporary fixed term employee can only be engaged as such where the employee is informed before engagement of the fixed term nature of the engagement and the term of the engagement and the employee agrees to the nature and terms of the engagement before employment.

Temporary Fixed Term Employment. 15.6.1 The introduction of temporary fixed term employment for Qantas is intended to create additional employment opportunities and will not negatively impact on the full time permanent employment. 15.6.2 Temporary employees may be engaged for a maximum of 52 weeks or other periods in excess of 52 weeks as maybe defined and agreed between the parties. 15.6.3 Temporary employees will be employed in addition to permanent employees and will be employed under the same terms and conditions of employment as equivalent full time or part time employees. 15.6.4 Where the Company has determined to employ temporary employees it will soon as practicable consult with the relevant union and other employees concerned. 15.6.5 Temporary employees will ordinarily be engaged directly by Qantas.

(iii) A temporary fixed term Employee is entitled to all the leave benefits contained in Part 6 – clauses 6.1(a) and 6.3 that apply to permanent Employees, on a pro-rata basis. (iv) Temporary Fixed Term Employment arrangements will only be entered into in circumstances where they are permitted by the Act.
Temporary Fixed Term Employment. 16.3.1 An employee other than a full time employee may be employed for a specific period of time as a temporary or fixed-term employee. 16.3.2 An employee engaged for a specific period of time is for all purposes of the Agreement a full-time employee, except where otherwise specified in this Agreement. 16.3.3 Service under a contract of employment for a specific period of time shall form part of an employee's period of continuous service, where such employee is engaged as a full- time employee immediately following such contract of employment.
Temporary Fixed Term Employment. 19.1 The parties agree to the employment of flight attendants for a specific period of time or for specific task(s). Flight attendants employed under these conditions will for all purposes of the Enterprise Agreement, unless otherwise specified, be considered as a full time flight attendant. 19.2 Service for flight attendants employed under these conditions will form part of the flight attendants’ period of continuous service if the flight attendant is engaged as a full time flight attendant immediately following the contract of employment under this clause. 19.3 The details of the specific period of time or the specific task(s) will be advised in writing to the flight attendant. However, the period of employment will not exceed 12 months, unless expressly agreed by the Association. 19.4 The Company will invite discussions with the Association when it is proposed to engage flight attendants in accordance with this clause. 19.5 Provided that the appropriate mix of casuals and full time permanent flight attendants is meeting the operational requirements of Qantas, there will be no engagement of fixed term flight attendants during the term of this agreement, unless otherwise agreed between the Association and the Company.
Temporary Fixed Term Employment. 22.1. The Employer is committed to maximising permanent employment. A temporary or fixed term Employee is an Employee engaged to meet temporary operational requirements. 22.2. The Employer will notify a temporary Employee in writing prior to the commencement of employment, the starting and finishing dates of employment or, in lieu of a finishing date, the specific circumstance/s or contingencies related to a specific task, project or other event, upon the occurrence of which the term of employment will expire. 22.3. A temporary/fixed term Employee may be required to serve a probationary period. 22.4. Any period of employment of a temporary/fixed term Employee will be counted as continuous service for the purpose of calculating entitlements in accordance with the relevant provisions of this Agreement. 22.5. The Employer will advise Employees who are engaged on a temporary or fixed term contract of up to 12 months at least 6 weeks prior to the expiration of their contract whether the Employer will be extending the contract beyond the expiration date. 22.6. The use of fixed term contracts will be consistent with the requirements of the Act as amended by the Secure Jobs Better Pay Act 2022.
Temporary Fixed Term Employment. Employees may be employed as temporary employees in the following circumstances: • to replace employees on long term leave or illness; • to perform a specific task or projects; • to fill unexpected or short term peak work loads. SEWL will not dispense with a permanent position for the purpose of creating a temporary position or positions. Every person engaged as a temporary employee shall be deemed to be subject to the provisions of this Agreement with the exception of entitlements to study leave, 48/52 arrangements, or special leave policies.

  • Temporary Employment Temporary service in a position immediately preceding certification to that position, without interruption, shall count towards satisfaction of the probationary period. It will also count toward benefits eligibility (without retroactivity for benefits) and pay progression requirements, provided the duties of the temporary and permanent assignments are the same.

  • Fixed Term Employees The only terms of this Agreement that apply to employees who are not regular employees are those that are set out in Articles 31A, 32, 33 and 34. 31A.1 Articles 31A.2 to 31A.16 apply only to fixed-term employees other than seasonal, student and GO Temp employees.

  • Temporary Employee Employees may be hired for a specific term not to exceed six (6) months, to replace an employee who will be on approved leave of absence, absence due to WSIB disability, sick leave, long term disability or to perform a special non-recurring task. This term may be extended a further six (6) months on mutual agreement of the Union, employee and Hospital or by the Hospital on its own up to twelve (12) months where the leave of the person being replaced extends that far. The period of employment of such persons will not exceed the absentee's leave. The release or discharge of such persons shall not be the subject of a grievance or arbitration. This clause would not preclude such employees from using the job posting provision under the collective agreement and any successful applicant who has completed his probation period will be credited with the appropriate seniority. The Hospital will outline to employees selected to fill such temporary vacancies and the Union, the circumstances giving rise to the vacancy, and the special conditions relating to such employment.

  • Temporary Employees 3.3.1 A temporary employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work assignment which is not ongoing (i.e. normally 12 months or less and not extending beyond 24 months). The employee's benefits and working conditions are as per Article 34 (Temporary Employees).

  • Outside Employment Employees may engage in other employment outside of their State working hours so long as the outside employment does not involve a conflict of interest with their State employment. Whenever it appears that any such outside employment might constitute a conflict of interest, the employee is expected to consult with his/her appointing authority or other appropriate agency representative prior to engaging in such outside employment. Employees of agencies where there are established procedures concerning outside employment for the purpose of insuring compliance with specific statutory restrictions on outside employment are expected to comply with such procedures.

  • Temporary Disability Leave Upon application, and approval by the school employer, a temporary disability leave of absence shall be granted to teachers of this school corporation on the following basis:
