Union Leave Days. A. In regard to the Operations, Maintenance and Services and Crafts and the Inspection and Security Units, the State will provide on a one-time basis a total of three-hundred and twenty-two (322) Union Leave days, not chargeable to the amounts of Union Leave days set forth in the Contract, in order to inform the employees of the terms and procedures of the Contract to assist in ratification efforts. The utilization of the Union Leave under this Letter of Agreement and the arrangement of the meetings with employees shall be subject to the conditions for such matters set forth in the Contract with the following exceptions:

Union Leave Days. At the beginning of each work year, the Union shall be credited with fifteen (15) working days to be used by employees who are officers of the Union, such use to be at the discretion of the Union. Eight (8) of these days shall be made available to the Union without cost. Requests for the use of these days must be made three (3) days in advance, except in case of an emergency.

In addition, the Union President shall receive three (3) days to conduct Union business; provided, however, that the Union shall reimburse the Board for substitutes, if needed, at the current substitute rate of pay. The Union President agrees to notify the Board in writing no less than seventy-two (72) hours in advance of taking such leave and identifying the individuals to be on leave.
Union Leave Days. The County agrees that it will pay and allow the Association a cumulative maximum of eighteen (18) man days leave with pay, which may be used in one-half (½) day increments, without reduction in sick time or vacation time for officers or members of the association designated by the President of the PBA to attend state-wide conferences, meetings, seminars or other organized activities. For purposes of this section, the PBA agrees to correspond with the department head thirty (30) days in advance whenever practicable and inform him/her of the exercise of these rights and agrees to forward the names of the personnel and the dates that the employees require the time off. In addition, the President of the PBA shall be entitled to one (1) day off with pay each month to attend to Association matters.

Union Leave Days. All Union Leave days are subject to approval based on operational needs.
Union Leave Days. In addition, a total of ten (10) days per school per year shall be available to be divided amongst bargaining unit employees across the network at the Union’s discretion to perform Union business. The Employer shall assume the salary costs of bargaining unit employees for the first 8 of days of Union release time used under this paragraph; the Union shall assume the salary costs of any of Union release time beyond 8 days. Up to three (3) bargaining unit employees may use Union release time on the same day. The Union shall provide the Employer with twenty-four (24) hours’ advance notice when using Union release time under this Article. Additionally, the Union may purchase from the Employer a number of Union release days not to exceed ten (10) days. These days shall be divided at the Union's discretion among designated bargaining unit employees. The Union will reimburse the Employer on a pro rata basis for the pay and benefits of employees who are released in this manner.
Union Leave Days. The Employer shall allow four (4) representatives of the Union to attend conferences and/or seminars of any beneficial group or association which is sanctioned by the Union. Leaves granted shall not exceed fifteen (15) work days total in any calendar year and thirteen (13) shall be without pay, and two (2) days with pay. The Executive Board of the Union shall, at least ten (10) days prior to such conference or seminar submit notice to the Sheriff certifying the name of such representative and indicating the topic of the conference; the starting date and termination date for the respective leave days noted above.
