WORK YEAR AND WORK SCHEDULE. A. The teacher work year will consist of 187 days to include at least five (5) days of meetings, conferences, in-service workshops, curriculum planning sessions and similar activities, with at least two (2) days prior to the opening student day of the school year, including one (1) day of uninterrupted classroom preparation free of meetings and appointments. Teachers will be compensated at the rate of 1/187 of their annual salary for each full day of work in excess of the work year. The 187 days will be assigned within a period beginning three days before and ending three days after the student school year.
