UNION SECURITY (Dues Deduction. (The following clause will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provision related to dues deduction that existed in the Hospital's expiring collective agreement:)
UNION SECURITY (Dues Deduction. 5.01 The Hospital will deduct from each employee in the bargaining unit an amount equal to the regular monthly union dues designated by the Union. The amount of regular monthly dues shall be as certified to the Hospital by the Treasurer of the Union from time to time. The amounts so deducted shall be remitted by the Hospital to the Union's Director of Finance no later than the 15th of the month following the month in which such deductions were made. In remitting such dues, the Hospital shall provide a list of the employees from whom deductions were made, including their job title and status (i.e. full-time, regular part-time, casual, or on leave of absence greater than thirty (30) days. A copy of this list will be forwarded to the Local Union. In consideration of the deducting and forwarding of union dues by the Hospital, the Union agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Hospital against any claims or liabilities arising or resulting from the operation of this Article.

In addition, the Employer shall deduct union dues from any retroactive wage payments.

(Any other related to union security that existed in the Hospital's expiring Collective Agreement will be continued in the Local Provisions Appendix.)

The Ottawa Hospital agrees to forward to OPSEU Central, and the Local on a one time basis, a master list of current bargaining unit members. This list shall include employee name, classification/job title, part time/full time status and if on leave of greater than thirty (30) days, and shall be provided no later than the posting of the second seniority list from date of ratification. The above list shall be updated by providing changes on a monthly basis.

Each Employee who, on the effective date of this Agreement, is a member of the Union, and each Employee who becomes a member after that date, shall maintain his membership in the Union, provided that such Employee may resign from the Union during a period of fifteen (15) days prior to the expiration of this Agreement. The payment of dues and assessments while a member shall be the only requisite employment condition.

Section 3.1 All employees covered by the terms of this Agreement shall be required to become and remain members of the Union as a condition of employment from and after the thirty-first (31st) day following the date of their employment, or the effective date of this Agreement, whichever is later. This payroll deduction authorization may be cancelled by the Company at its discretion upon the expiration or termination of the Agreement.

UNION SECURITY (Dues Deduction. 3.1 To the extent not inconsistent with the law, it shall be a condition of employment that all employees of the Employer covered by this Agreement who are members of the Union in good standing on the effective date of this Agreement shall remain members in good standing with respect to the tendering of regularly scheduled dues or fees uniformly applied. Those who are not members on the effective date of this Agreement (except for probationary employees) shall, to the extent not inconsistent with the law, on the thirtieth (30) calendar day following the effective date of this Agreement, become and remain members in good standing in the Union. It shall also be a condition of employment that all employees covered by this Agreement who are hired, rehired, reinstated or transferred into the bargaining unit, shall, to the extent not inconsistent with the law, become a member of the Union within the thirtieth (30TH) calendar day following the beginning of such employment and remain members in good standing in the Union. Where the effective date of the Agreement is made retroactive, the execution date shall be substituted for the effective date. The failure of any employee to become a member of the Union at the required time shall obligate the Employer, upon written notice from the Union to such effect, and providing that the Union membership was available on the same terms available to other members, to discharge such person. Further, failure of any person to maintain his/her membership in good standing as required herein shall, upon written notice to the Employer by the Union to such effect, obligate the Employer to discharge such person.
