Academics. A student-athlete must meet school and DPI requirements defining a full-time student and have received no more than one failing grade (including incompletes) in the most recent school issued grade reporting period. Note: Some member schools adopt code and academic policies and other participation requirements which are more stringent than WIAA minimum requirements. In those instances, the school’s requirements prevail and must be applied as written.

Academics. An individual must hold at least a bachelor’s degree with proper certification/licensure for the position to be held. Such employee shall be placed on the Bachelor or Equivalent Lane of the salary schedule.
Academics. The Sponsor understands and agrees that while the School provides an Independent Study system that can allow the Student to accelerate their completion of courses and academic competency, the School course completion is not awarded by time in class, but only for work completed and competency achieved. Therefore, the Sponsor understands and agrees that the School cannot ensure, nor be liable for, how quickly the Student will complete courses, or that the Student will complete courses in any certain subjects, or that the Student will complete courses on any kind of accelerated basis, or that the Student will even complete any courses at all. Sponsors also understand that since Midwest Academy is a private school and the academic courses are part of an Independent Study program, all of the teachers/tutors working with the students may not need or have the same credentials as a public school teacher. The Sponsor further understands that any specialized or individualized tutoring, if available, may result in additional costs or charges to the Sponsor (any such tutoring would be approved by the Sponsor in advance). The Sponsor understands that the ultimate acceptance of any course work, credit or diploma is the prerogative of each individual school district, college or university. Sponsors understand and agree that the School makes no promises or guarantees concerning results, proficiencies, testing, accreditations, teacher credentials, credits, diplomas, course offerings, time in class, or teacher student ratios as these things may and do change from time to time.
Academics. A student that has a grade that falls below a 73% will be required to attendExtra Help” sessions with his/her Learning Facilitators. Students earning less than a 70% in multiple courses will be ineligible for athletic participation and will be required to withdraw from the activity until the average in those classes improves to a 75% or above. The Upper School Principal will determine when a student is eligible to resume athletic participation. An athlete must maintain a full course load, a minimum of six classes which constitute a challenging academic program. Only the first eight semesters will count towards the student’s G.P.A.
Academics. CURRICULUM FACULTY STUDY HABITS 1. Provide your child with a quiet place to study. 2. As much as possible, insist on a regular time for homework each day. 3. Encourage your child to read books at home. Occasionally, discuss the story together. Read to your child; let your child see YOU reading. 4. Never do your child’s homework for him/her. Act as a resource person. 5. Check your child’s homework and orally quiz him/her on the work that has been assigned. 6. Remind your child it is important to study for tests on a daily basis. Grade reports are given to students as a record of their progress. These are distributed on a trimester schedule. Reports indicate the child’s strengths and weaknesses. They are a means for parents to review and evaluate the child’s effort and achievement, therefore, aiding parents in their own efforts to help, encourage, and to assist him/her, thereby, furthering the child’s development.
