Academics. A student-athlete must meet school and DPI requirements defining a full-time student and have received no more than one failing grade (including incompletes) in the most recent school issued grade reporting period. Note: Some member schools adopt code and academic policies and other participation requirements which are more stringent than WIAA minimum requirements. In those instances, the school’s requirements prevail and must be applied as written.

Academics. 1. An individual must hold at least a bachelor’s degree with proper certification/licensure for the position to be held. Such employee shall be placed on the Bachelor or Equivalent Lane of the salary schedule.
Academics. The Sponsor understands and agrees that while the School provides an Independent Study system that can allow the Student to accelerate their completion of courses and academic competency, the School course completion is not awarded by time in class, but only for work completed and competency achieved. Therefore, the Sponsor understands and agrees that the School cannot ensure, nor be liable for, how quickly the Student will complete courses, or that the Student will complete courses in any certain subjects, or that the Student will complete courses on any kind of accelerated basis, or that the Student will even complete any courses at all. Sponsors also understand that since Midwest Academy is a private school and the academic courses are part of an Independent Study program, all of the teachers/tutors working with the students may not need or have the same credentials as a public school teacher. The Sponsor further understands that any specialized or individualized tutoring, if available, may result in additional costs or charges to the Sponsor (any such tutoring would be approved by the Sponsor in advance). The Sponsor understands that the ultimate acceptance of any course work, credit or diploma is the prerogative of each individual school district, college or university. Sponsors understand and agree that the School makes no promises or guarantees concerning results, proficiencies, testing, accreditations, teacher credentials, credits, diplomas, course offerings, time in class, or teacher student ratios as these things may and do change from time to time.

The Guardian understand and agree that the Academy provides an academic system that in most cases will allow the student to accelerate his credits for work completed and skill and aptitude achieved. Therefore the Guardians understand and agree that the Academy cannot ensure, nor be liable, for how quickly the Boy will receive credits, if any at all, or that the Boy will receive credits in any certain subjects. The Guardian acknowledge and consent that from time to time, the Academy will use other students/boys in the Academy's program as student aids and the Academy may use these student aids to assist in the review and correction of the Boy's homework assignments. In addition to being enrolled into Liahona’s accredited academic program, the Guardian acknowledges their Boy may be duel enrolled into a Utah chartered school to provide additional academic curriculum to the Boy, such as college prep classes and Individual Education Plans, (if applicable).

Academics. A student that has a grade that falls below a 73% will be required to attend “Extra Help” sessions with his/her Learning Facilitators. Students earning less than a 70% in multiple courses will be ineligible for athletic participation and will be required to withdraw from the activity until the average in those classes improves to a 75% or above. The Upper School Principal will determine when a student is eligible to resume athletic participation. An athlete must maintain a full course load, a minimum of six classes which constitute a challenging academic program. Only the first eight semesters will count towards the student’s G.P.A.

In the area of Academics, including new charter submission and development, the CWC Network: • Develops the overall academic framework and design for the Schools within the areas of Curriculum, Instructional Methods and Assessments, through the chartering process. • Initiates and manages through to approval the rigorous charter application process with the chartering agency. • Develops, writes and edits the charter application with thorough descriptions of the academic program, target community, governance and all other required elements of the charter law and process. • Attends meetings with the chartering agency officials and responds to feedback and request for changes in application by chartering agency and stakeholders. • Negotiates all aspects of the charter application with the chartering agency. • Supports Licensee in ensuring successful renewal of the Schools’ charters, including review and counsel through the process and provision of templates to ensure consistency between schools aligned with CWC Network model and capture best practices learned.
