ARTICLE GENERAL PURPOSE. The general purpose of the Agreement is to establish and maintain bargaining relations between the Employer and its employees, and to provide an orderly procedure for the prompt and equitable disposition of grievances, and set forth provisions relating to hours of work, wages and working conditions referred to herein. The Employer recognizes the Union, as certified by the Ontario Labour Relations on the 19th day of November, as the exclusive bargaining agent of all employees of Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock, Ontario regularly employed for not more than twenty-four (24) hours per week and students employed during the school vacation period, save and except registered nurses, supervisors, persons above the rank of supervisor and office and clerical staff. The Employer will supply the Union Office and each Union Committee Member with a list of Department Heads and other members of management. The list will be revised as changes are made, and the revised copies forwarded to the Union office and to each Union Committee member. No employee shall be discriminated against by either party because of age, race, creed, colour, national origin, political or religious affiliation, sex, marital status or place of residence, nor by reason of his membership or activity in the Union or in the exercise of her rights under this Agreement. The Union is recognized as the exclusive bargaining agent for all employees of the bargaining unit as defined herein and the employer undertakes that it will not enter into any other agreement with employees as herein defined either individually or collectively which will conflict with any of the provisions of the Agreement. The general purpose of this Agreement is to establish and maintain bargaining relations between the Employer and those of its staff at its Nursing Home at Thunder Bay, Ontario, for whom the Union is the bargaining agent as set out in Article of this Agreement and to provide orderly procedurefor the prompt and disposition of grievances and for the maintenance of mutually satisfactory hours of work, wages and working conditions of such employees. It is the desire of the parties hereto to co-operate and harmoniously work together in the promotion of the highest standard of care for the residents in the Nursing Home.

ARTICLE UNION RECOGNITION All lay employees of the Hospital in the City of regularly employed for not more than hours per week and students employed during the school vacation period, save and except supervisors, foremen, persons above the rank of xxxxxxx, professional medical staff, graduate nursing staff, undergraduate nurses, graduate pharmacists, undergraduate pharmacists, graduate dietitians, student dietitians, social worker, social work assistants, paramedical personnel, chief engineer, security guards, persons engaged in research work, office and clerical staff, and employees in bargaining units for which any trade union held bargaining rights as of September For clarity, we note that the term "paramedical" as used in our decision November in this application includes occupational therapists, speech therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, therapeutic and administrative dietitians, registered and non-registered pathological technologists, radiological technologists (radiography), radiological technologists (nuclear medicine), registered and non-registered respiratory technologists, registered and non- registered EEG, ECG and technicians, registered and non-registered ultrasound technologists, glaucoma technicians, ear, nose and throat technicians, cardiovascular technicians, electrical shock therapists, laboratory techn labo assistants, electron technicians, psychometrists, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, psychologists, remedial gymnasts, medical records librarians, social workers, child care workers, nutritionists, dental health educators and technicians. The Hospital agrees it will not enter into any other Agreement with any of the employees in the bargaining unit, either individually or collectively, which will not conform to the provisions of this Agreement.
ARTICLE GENERAL PURPOSE. The general purpose of this agreement is to establish and maintain collective bargaining relations between the Employer and its employees within the Bargaining Unit. GULAR EMPLOYEE shall mean those employees in the Bargaining Unit regularly assigned to work the regular working week and who have completed a probationary period as set out in Article Regular employees shall mean those employees who work more than twenty-four (24) hours per week and than thirty-seven and one-half hours per week on a regular basis and who have completed a probationary period, as set out in Article The probationary period may be extended in the case of employees by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Union. Probationary Period An employee will be until after he has completed forty-five (45) days of work in the full-time Bargaining Unit within any twelve (12) calendar months. Upon completion of such probationary period, the employee5 name will be placed on the appropriate seniority list with seniority dating from the date he was last hued by the Hospital. Notwithstanding anything in this agreement, a probationary employee may be discharged at the sole discretion of and for any reason satisfactory to the Hospital and the discharge of a probationary employee shall not be subject to the grievance or arbitration procedures.
