Bargaining Unit President. The Employer will pay the Bargaining Unit President or designate at her/his regular straight time hourly rate for all time spent attending meetings required under the Collective Agreement with the Employer outside her/his regularly scheduled hours.
Bargaining Unit President. (a) The Bargaining Unit President shall be on full-time leave of absence without loss of their regular hourly rate of pay, benefits, service or seniority for the term of their Presidency.
(b) The Hospital agrees to pay the Bargaining Unit President an average of 75 hours per month. This compensation is for time spent by the Bargaining Unit President on Union business involving the Hospital.
(c) The Union agrees that it will provide a designate for the Bargaining Unit President’s absences including vacation, sick leave and other approved leaves provided for in the Collective Agreement. Except in the case of attendance at meetings where the central agreement requires the Hospital to pay the cost of attendance, the cost of such designate will be borne by the Union.
(d) The Union agrees the Bargaining Unit President will allocate fifty (50) percent of their time in a week for union business with the Hospital and for this purpose will advise the Hospital of their availability on a regular basis. It is understood that there will be flexibility in how those hours may be averaged over a given month.
(e) The Bargaining Unit President and the Director responsible for the Hospital’s Labour Relations or designate will meet and document on a monthly basis business arising from the Collective Agreement. Where possible this meeting will be scheduled in conjunction with prescheduled Step 2 meetings.
(f) It is understood that at any time either party may request a meeting to discuss and seek resolution to issues arising from this agreement.
Bargaining Unit President. The Bargaining Unit President shall be granted leave of absence with pay to a total of three (3) days (11.25 hour days) per month plus seven (7) additional flex days (11.25 hour days) per calendar year. These days will be scheduled on dates that have been scheduled for Hospital Association Committee meetings and Grievance Committee meetings. In months where the above Committees do not have a meeting scheduled and for the seven (7) flex days, the Bargaining Unit President shall advise the Hospital of the date(s) where the leave of absence is to be taken. The Bargaining Unit President shall be scheduled to work day shifts only, subject to the request of the Bargaining Unit President. The parties agree to review this each January to discuss any areas of concern. The BUVP Site Representative shall be granted leave of absence with pay for two (2) days (11.25 hour days) per month with one (1) day to be scheduled on the dates Grievance Committee/HAC meetings plus two (2) additional flex days (11.25 hour days) for the purpose of Union business.
Bargaining Unit President. Where practicable, the Hospital will endeavour to schedule meetings during the Bargaining Unit President’s (BUP) regular working hours. Where the Hospital requests the attendance of the BUP at a meeting outside the BUP’s regularly scheduled hours, the hospital agrees to pay the BUP at her regular straight time hourly rates for time spent attending such meetings outside her regularly scheduled hours to a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours in each calendar year. Such hours paid for attendance of the BUP at a meeting outside the BUP’s regularly scheduled hours will be invisible for purposes of determining premium payments (i.e. these hours will not attract premium payment and will not be counted for purposes of determining eligibility for premium payment on other hours worked).
Bargaining Unit President. The Employer will provide paid leave to the Bargaining Unit President of seven-and-a-half (7.5) hours per month. The scheduling of the above hours will be negotiated between the Local President, Human Resources and the Unit Manager involved. The President will accrue full service and seniority during this time, and this time will be deemed as work time. The Employer will not require the President to attend meeting(s) after working the night shift.
Bargaining Unit President. The annual seniority list shall remain in effect until the publication by February 15th of the succeeding year of a new annual seniority list.
