Building Committees. 1. At each school, a Building Committee shall be established consisting of not more than five (5) teachers from that school and that may include, in addi­ tion, up to one (1) member from that school representing each of the other bargaining units represented by the Federation. 2. The Building Committee for each off­site Pre­K Center shall consist of not more than two (2) employees in a two (2) or three (3) classroom center, and not more than three (3) employees for a center of four (4) classrooms or more. 3. The Principal of a school who may be accompanied by one (1) Assistant Principal of their choice shall meet at least once a month with the Federation Building Committee at its request. At such meetings, the Principal and the Building Committee shall work cooperatively on items regarding school opera­ tions and questions relating to the implementation of the Agreement. 4. Proposed changes in existing policies and procedures and new policies and procedures for the school shall be subjects for discussion at such Building Com­ mittee meetings. Such policies adopted or maintained by any Principal shall not be inconsistent with the terms of the Agreement. 5. Whenever it will not interfere with instructional time of teachers or work­ ing time of other members of the Building Committee, meetings with the Prin­ cipal shall be held on school time. 6. In each senior high school, technical high school and middle school, all members of the Federation Building Committee shall be rostered for a prepa­ ration period at the same time at least once each week, provided the Federation submits to the Principal the names of its Building Committee prior to the mak­ ing of the roster. Any meeting between the Principal and the Building Commit­ tee shall be held in such common preparation period. In the event that members of other bargaining units represented by the Fed­ eration are members of the Building Committee, such persons shall be released to attend Building Committee meetings held during common preparation peri­ ods and the Principal shall provide such coverage as they shall deem appropri­ ate for the assignment of such members. In the event an emergency requires that a meeting between the Principal and the Building Committee shall be held at some time other than that specified above, the Principal shall provide such coverage as they shall deem appropriate for the assignments of the members of the Building Committee. 7. Building Committees. A. The principal of each building will meet, outside of regular school hours, with the respective BFT Building Committee representative on a monthly basis, or more frequently by mutual consent, for a free exchange of views concerning school issues and activities. B. The President of the bargaining unit will submit the names of members of each Building Committee to the Superintendent. Those so listed on the presented lists shall be the official Building Committee and may include a member from outside each building.
Building Committees. When a teacher serves on a building-level committee, the teacher shall receive extra compensation for service on said committee upon satisfying all of the following conditions: a. the teacher has attended at least one (1) previous meeting of the same committee in the same school year which have exceeded the regular workday by at least one (1) hour, b. only the time for which the committee meets exceeding one (1) hour beyond the regular workday shall be compensated, c. compensation shall be at the hourly rate for Special Curriculum Work in accordance with Appendix “B”.

No more than three (3) building representatives will be included on this committee unless elected. 3. Any building concern may be brought to the committee for solution. 5. Agreements reached between the building policy committee and the building principal will be put into effect as soon as possible. 6. Minutes are published to the staff upon review of the principal and the chairman. 7. No committee solution may conflict with the Master Contract or Board Policy. 8. The Board agrees that teacher involvement will be meaningful. Section B School Improvement Plan Committee Public Act 25 requires the development of building level School Improvement Plans (SIP) with the involvement of building administrators, parents, students, teachers, other school employees and others in the community. This SIP process is a new experience for all involved. The WEA comes forward seeking an understanding about working conditions for members as the SIP process begins. To this end, each building will have one SIP committee. Provisions contained in this section shall apply to all SIP committees. 1. It is recognized that the jurisdiction and authority of the SIP is not intended to extend beyond the scope of the traditional decision making authority at the building level. Any approved plans, courses of action, or decisions made by the SIP must not violate Board statutory authority, policies, mission statement, and goals. Further, they must not violate the Master Agreement, formal understandings, conditions, practices and policies established by the parties. 2. The SIP will not engage in collective bargaining or have the authority to address employment matters including but not limited to grievances and grievance procedure, employee performance, evaluation, discipline, salary, fringe benefits, working conditions, or matters established in statute such as the Public Employee Relations Act and the Teacher Tenure Act. 3. Building Committees. Participation by teachers on building committees shall be mandatory or voluntary depending on the intent and the needs of the committee as determined by the administration. Mandatory committees shall meet within the teachers' 8-hour work day whenever possible. Hours worked on mandatory committees outside of the teachers' 8-hour work day shall be subject to compensation as provided in Article XII. Non-participation on voluntary committees shall not be considered in teacher evaluations or disciplinary actions.
Building Committees. The Federation may organize committees of up to three teachers from each building. The Building Committee will have the right to meet with the building principal at mutually convenient times to discuss matters of professional concern at the building level.

  • Standing Committees (a) The Board may appoint an Executive Committee, an Audit Committee and a Compensation Committee, consisting of such number of members as the Board may designate, consistent with the Articles, these Bylaws and the laws of the State of Nevada. (b) The Executive Committee shall have and may exercise, when the Board is not in session, all of the powers of the Board in the management of the business and affairs of the Corporation, but the Executive Committee shall not have the power to fill vacancies on the Board, to change the membership of or to fill vacancies in the Executive Committee or any other Committee of the Board, to adopt, amend or repeal these Bylaws or to declare dividends or other distributions. (c) The Audit Committee shall select and engage, on behalf of the Corporation and subject to the consent of the stockholders, and fix the compensation of, a firm of certified public accountants. It shall be the duty of the firm of certified public accountants, which firm shall report to the Audit Committee, to audit the books and accounts of the Corporation and its consolidated subsidiaries. The Audit Committee shall confer with the auditors to determine, and from time to time shall report to the Board upon, the scope of the auditing of the books and accounts of the Corporation and its consolidated subsidiaries. If required by Nevada or federal laws, rules or regulations, or by the rules or regulations of any exchange on which the Corporation's shares shall be listed, the Board shall approve a charter for the Audit Committee and the Audit Committee shall comply with such charter in the performance of its duties. (d) The Compensation Committee shall establish a general compensation policy for the Corporation's directors and elected officers and shall have responsibility for approving the compensation of the Corporation's directors, elected officers and any other senior officers determined by the Compensation Committee. The Compensation Committee shall have all of the powers of administration granted to the Compensation Committee under the Corporation's non-qualified employee benefit plans, including any stock incentive plans, long-term incentive plans, bonus plans, retirement plans, deferred compensation plans, stock purchase plans and medical, dental and insurance plans. In connection therewith, the Compensation Committee shall determine, subject to the provisions of such plans, the directors, officers and employees of the Corporation eligible to participate in any of the plans, the extent of such participation and the terms and conditions under which benefits may be vested, received or exercised. The Compensation Committee may delegate any or all of its powers of administration under any or all of the Corporation's non-qualified employee benefit plans to any committee or entity appointed by the Compensation Committee. If required by any Nevada or federal laws, rules or regulations, or by the rules or regulations of any exchange on which the Corporation's shares shall be listed, the Board shall approve a charter for the Compensation Committee and the Compensation Committee shall comply with such charter in the performance of its duties.

  • Safety Committees Joint employee-elected and Employer appointed safety committees shall be formed in accord with WISHA requirements and following University of Washington policy. The Union is entitled to representation on the University-wide or specific organizational or divisional committees where bargaining unit employees are working. Any department or unit committee also dealing with health and safety issues in work areas shall appropriately involve bargaining unit employees. Participation in safety and health committees, including meeting time, health and safety research, work on committee assignments, seminars, and classes will be considered time worked for all employees in accordance with University policy. Release time must be arranged with supervisors in advance. When the committee makes a recommendation that requires action or approval beyond its scope of authority, the Employer will communicate its disposition of the formal written recommendation within thirty (30) days.

  • Joint Committees 1101 Release Time (a) Basic pay or equivalent time off, with a minimum of one (1) hour guaranteed to nurses who are not on duty, will be granted to nurses appointed by the Union to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee and any other Facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives. (b) All reasonable efforts will be made to relieve a nurse who is appointed to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee, Nursing Advisory Committee or any other facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives, without loss of salary or benefits. This clause is applicable when the meeting(s) occurs during hours the nurse is otherwise scheduled to work. 1102 Union Management Committee The Employer and the Union agree to establish and maintain a Union Management Committee consisting of not less than two (2) persons appointed by each of the parties. Management representatives shall include the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing; Union representatives shall include the President and/or Vice-President of the Local. Appointments shall be made for a term of one (1) year but without limit on the number of consecutive terms a member may serve. The Committee shall meet at the request of either party subject to five (5) days notice being given but not less than bi-monthly unless otherwise mutually agreed. The purpose of the Committee shall be to discuss/study/make recommendations to the Employer and the Union regarding matters of mutual concern. 1103 Nursing Advisory Committee

  • Sub-Committees 15.1 The Joint Committee shall establish the membership and terms of reference for any sub-committees or sub-groups which it establishes and may dissolve such sub-committees or sub-groups. Sub-committees to which the Joint Committee delegates functions are bound by the provisions of this Agreement regulating the taking of decisions by the Joint Committee. The Joint Committee may create additional sub-committees from time to time as it sees fit.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.

  • Delegation; Committees The Trustees shall have the power, consistent with their continuing exclusive authority over the management of the Trust and the Trust Property, to delegate from time to time to such of their number or to officers, employees or agents of the Trust the doing of such things, including any matters set forth in this Declaration, and the execution of such instruments either in the name of the Trust or the names of the Trustees or otherwise as the Trustees may deem expedient.   • Nurse Representatives & Grievance Committee (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Association representatives to be elected or appointed from amongst nurses in the bargaining unit for the purpose of dealing with Association business as provided in this Collective Agreement. The number of representatives and the areas which they represent are set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. (b) The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee, one of whom shall be chair. This committee shall operate and conduct itself in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement and the number of nurses on the Grievance Committee is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. (c) It is agreed that Union representatives and members of the Grievance Committee have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. If, in the performance of their duties, a union representative or member of the Grievance Committee is required to enter a unit within the hospital in which they are not ordinarily employed they shall, immediately upon entering such unit, report their presence to the supervisor or nurse in charge, as the case may be. When resuming their regular duties and responsibilities, such representatives shall again report to their immediate supervisor. The Hospital agrees to pay for all time spent during their regular hours by such representatives hereunder.

  • Subcommittees Unless otherwise provided in the Certificate of Incorporation, these bylaws or the resolutions of the Board designating the committee, a committee may create one (1) or more subcommittees, each subcommittee to consist of one (1) or more members of the committee, and delegate to a subcommittee any or all of the powers and authority of the committee.
