Building Inspector. 3.4.1 The Building Inspector is a general inspector that will inspect all phases of the construction of buildings, including the coordination of inspection of specific systems and components of the building by specialized inspectors, to ensure compliance with the contract documents. Whereas the Ontario Building Code requires Building Officials to undergo mandatory qualification and registration which involves the successful completion of eleven (11) courses; the following will apply: Employees will have five (5) years from the commencement of full time employment as a Junior Plan Examiner to become Ministry qualified and registered as a Building Inspector as a condition of continued employment. The City of North Bay will support training and qualification opportunities. Once the Junior Plan Examiner meets the requirements of the Building Inspector I job description and the qualifications of the Ministry, the position will be reclassified as Building Inspector I and will be registered as a Building Inspector as per the Ontario Building Code requirements. Upon achieving qualification and registration in all categories, the Building Inspector I will be reclassified as Building Inspector II. In the event that an employee does not complete the above requirements as per this agreement, they will be eligible to exercise their seniority as per Article 9.

(6) When both this coverage and other "insurance" apply to the loss on the same basis, whether primary, excess or contingent, The Trust shall not be liable under this coverage for a greater proportion of the loss than that stated in the applicable Method of Sharing provision below.

Building Inspector. CERTIFICATIONS (Act 54) All employees required to comply with Act 54 shall be allowed release time to attend the available classes/seminars to attain the required certification for the job provided that such release time does not cause a hardship on the department. Opportunities shall be made available, as equitably as possible, to Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Heating Inspectors, and others required to maintain an Act 54 certification within the 3-year cycle. Employees may attend employer-paid accredited seminars/classes on the employee's own time. The cost of required classes/seminars and membership fees for employees currently serving as Act 54 inspectors shall be paid by the City.
