Career Development Training. The employer will refund tuition, registration, class or lab fees; reimburse the cost of text books and/or manuals after the successful completion of job-related training programs which were approved by the Superintendent prior to the employee’s enrollment. Employer agrees to give good faith consideration to requests. Expenses will be limited to a maximum of $2,000.00 per year of the Agreement for the entire group. The term “job related” shall refer to any job within the employee’s group. Requests for training programs related to jobs outside the employee’s group may be approved by the Superintendent and the Union.
Career Development Training. 33.1.1 Bargaining unit employees are eligible for staff development assistance according to the provisions of the Career Development Fund.
33.1.2 In administering the Career Development Fund, the University shall ensure:
a) MSA members are provided equitable access to available funds.
b) Flexibility is provided to members in their selection of professional development opportunities, provided it meets the general objectives of enhancing job enrichment, transfer and/or promotional opportunities.
c) Approved attendance at professional development activities using the Career Development fund will be time coded as ‘Professional Development Leave’.
d) The parties recognize that it is not intended for the funding provided through the Career Development Fund to be used for University‐required training and/or certification.
Career Development Training. Activities undertaken to increase the knowledge, competency, ability, and skill of employees in the performance of those duties, which support the Agency mission and performance goals. These include potential duties in a different job or occupation at the same or higher level than the one currently held.
Career Development Training. Employer agrees to give good faith consideration to requests. Expenses will be limited to a maximum of $1,500.00 for the entire membership per school year. The term “job-related” shall refer to any job within this PACE unit. In addition, when management mandates CDA certification (limited to employees hired before 5/1/99), the District agrees that the entire cost of this certification will be paid by the District and will not be applied to the above-mentioned $1,500.00. Loss of CDA certification shall not result in any Employer obligation to pay for future re-certification or reinstatement of the CDA.
Career Development Training. The County will consider seniority in the assignment of officers to Career Development Courses. Within operational needs, the County will allow schedule adjustments in conjunction with course attendance.

C. Bargaining unit personnel shall have priority consideration in selection to attend the F.B.I. National Academy and the Southern Police Institute supervisory training program. An Ad Hoc Committee shall make recommendations to the Department Director as to those employees who should be chosen for attendance. Committee membership shall include three (3) bargaining unit employees, one (1) Police Major and one (1) Division Chief.
D. Bargaining unit members may request Educational Leave, not to exceed five (5) calendar days, to attend professional training programs and seminars. This will be limited to one such experience per fiscal year and such attendance must be job-related to current or anticipated assignment or designed to enhance administrative/ managerial expertise. If approved by the Department, such activity will be at no cost to the County except salary only for the approved leave period. In reviewing requests for educational leaves of absence, the County retains the right to consider past training experiences as well as applicability to current or anticipated assignments. The County retains the right to approve requests in the manner required for other leaves of absence.
Career Development Training. 1. Provide adequate training to ensure Member is prepared for the roles and responsibilities of the project.
2. Provide a minimum of two (2) site-specific trainings to Member related to the service position. No more than 20% of members’ total service hours may be spent in training. Training received by member(s) during orientation do not count toward the site- specific training.
3. Submit all requests for approval of out-of-state training for the Member to the WSC at least two weeks in advance of the training.
4. Support Member(s) in attending WSC training and career development opportunities. Release Member(s) to attend mandatory training events, service projects, and other WSC events including WSC-sponsored regional trainings. Ensure members meet all core training requirements.
5. Ensure Member(s) report completed training as requested by WSC into the WSC- designated tracking system.
6. Release Member(s) from regular service to respond to disasters in accordance with WSC Policy #POL-160. Out-of-state deployments must meet specific CNCS criteria, and require prior written approval of WSC.
Career Development Training. The County is committed to the principle of training all employees. Said training shall be provided insofar as it does not adversely affect and interfere with the orderly performance and continuity of County services within the various County departments. Employees will submit written requests for career development training to their immediate supervisor with copies sent to the Department Director and the Human Resources Division. The Department Director or designee may select or approve an employee to receive on-the-job training for a higher-level position for a period of not to exceed ten (10) working days per calendar year. The intent of this training is to afford the employee the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills. As a result of the training, the employee may then be more effective on the job and may qualify for jobs at a higher level. Such training will be documented and placed in the employee's personnel file. It will be considered when the employee applies for future promotional positions. It is understood and mutually agreed by the employee, the Union, and the Department Director or designee that the purpose of such training is not to circumvent the Temporary Assignments and Acting Appointments Article in this Agreement. Career development training does not qualify for step up pay.
Career Development Training. For the duration of this Memorandum of Understanding, an amount of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) per fiscal year will be allocated in the Fire Department budget for training. Participants to attend training sessions will be selected by the Education Committee. The final decision about who goes to training sessions rests with the Fire Chief. Firefighters will be required to arrange their own shift trades to accommodate training.
