CHARGEABLE (SICK/PERSONAL) LEAVE. All teachers in the Lansing district will receive leave of 12 days at the beginning of each contract year. Teachers with 10-19 years of service in the district will be granted one (1) additional day at the beginning of each year. Teachers with 20-24 years of service in the district will be granted two (2) additional days of leave at the beginning of each year. Teachers with 25 years or more of service will be granted three (3) additional days of leave at the beginning of each year. Part-time teachers’ leave will be in proportion to his or her daily rate of earnings. Days not used may accumulate up to 95 days; however, no more than 80 days may be carried forward from the preceding year. Chargeable leave will cover absences for illness or personal matters which require absence during regular school hours. Such absences will be deducted from the accumulated leave allowance and any of the unused days (not in excess of 80 days) shall be carried forward to the following year. The teacher’s request for anticipated leave will be made to the building administrator at least three (3) contract days in advance. It is the intent of this provision to grant the day of leave at the time requested; however, should it be an inopportune time, an alternate day may be required. Leave will not normally be granted at the beginning or end of the school year or in conjunction with holiday leave. The goal of the Board of Education (“Board”) and the staff is to provide students with every opportunity to achieve success in learning. A critical element of that goal is ensuring teachers are present to develop and xxxxxx the tools necessary for students to achieve that success. The purpose of the leave set forth below is to address matters in which necessity warrants they be attended to during the workday/school year (i.e. personal appointments, sick leave, etc.). Request of anticipated leave in excess of two consecutive days for activities that may be scheduled outside the workday/school year is detrimental to the educational goals of USD 469 and the students it serves. Request of three (3) or more consecutive days of anticipated leave requires written approval by the Principal and Superintendent, who shall determine whether the leave will be granted with or without pay dependent upon the circumstances presented by the staff member.   • Paid Personal Leave A.   • Sick/Personal Leave Leave granted to the teacher for sick, personal or bereavement reasons.

  • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Extended Personal Leave Personal leave without pay not to exceed thirty (30) 26 days may be granted at the discretion of the Superintendent. Personal leave in 27 excess of thirty (30) days shall be subject to approval by the Board.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Personal Leaves 8.11.4.1 As approved by the Board, personal leaves without pay may be granted in cases of exceptional need for up to six (6) months. Any such leave exceeding one (1) semester shall not be counted toward tenure or promotion or for computing salary increments. These leaves may be extended by the PVPAA upon recommendation of the xxxx for up to one (1) year.

  • Unpaid Personal Leave of Absence 1. Any employee may apply for an unpaid personal leave of absence for good and sufficient reason. Leave pursuant to this provision may be for a period not exceeding twelve (12) months in any fourteen (14) consecutive months. Such leave may be granted at the discretion of the appointing authority and shall not be unreasonably denied. Employees are encouraged to consult with their agency/department Personnel Officer to determine if they are eligible for benefits available under the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act. All requests for such leave and responses shall be in writing. The application for leave must specifically state the reasons for such application and the length of time requested. After completion of a period of personal leave of absence, the employee shall be entitled to return to the organizational unit, status and position held immediately prior to the beginning of the leave of absence. If the employee's position is abolished during any such leave, he/she shall be notified and allowed to exercise his/her rights under the Seniority Article of this Agreement.

  • Sick Leave/Personal Leave 1. Each member of the bargaining unit who is regular full-time, in an active pay status, is eligible for ten (10) days of sick leave and three (3) days of personal leave annually. No member of the bargaining unit shall lose the accumulated allowance of unused days of sick leave/personal leave by reason of having been absent for a period without pay, nor shall the employee accumulate any additional days of allowance during the absence. Faculty members needing to use sick/personal days shall fill out the requisite forms according to official College procedures.

  • Sick Leave and Personal Leave The Administrator shall be granted paid sick leave, as defined in Section 24-6 of The School Code, of twelve (12) workdays per contract year accumulative to three hundred forty (340) days. The Administrator shall be granted three (3) paid personal leave days per contract year for personal business. Unused personal leave days shall be credited towards the Administrator’s accumulated sick leave.
