CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE. 04-01 Effective 01, January 2001 and up to and including 31 December 2002, the classifications and salaries shall be those as shown in Schedule ‘A’ hereto attached and made part of this Agreement.
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE. 1. The salaries effective upon ratification of this agreement for the classifications covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix A attached hereto and by this reference made a part of this Agreement. Except as otherwise provided by the parties, the salaries of all classifications and individual employees shall be increased by 3% percent April 1, 2023, 4% percent April 1, 2024, 3.5% percent April 1, 2025 and 2.75% on April 1, 2026.
(a) Each employee will advance through the appropriate pay grade schedule, as provided in Appendix A of this Agreement, and will receive wage increments specified on the anniversary date of the employee's employment until the employee reaches the top of the grade.
(b) Whenever an employee is advanced to a higher pay grade, the employee shall move through the steps of the new pay grade on the anniversary date of the advancement to the new pay grade. However, the longevity steps after seven (7) (if applicable), ten (10), fourteen (14) and twenty-one (21) years shall take effect either on the anniversary date of the employee’s hire or one (1) year after advancing to the preceding step, whichever occurs later, but in no event shall the employee advance to a longevity step without the requisite number of years of AFL-CIO employment to qualify for a longevity step unless otherwise agreed. (See Appendix C for an example.)
3. An employee in Grade V shall advance to Grade IV after not more than seven (7) years in Grade V. An employee hired at Grade VI, Step 3, shall advance to Grade V after not more than one (1) year in Grade VI; an employee hired at Grade VI, Step 2, shall advance to Grade V after not more than two (2) years in Grade VI, and an employee hired at Grade VI, Step 1, shall advance to Grade V after not more than three (3) years in Grade VI.
4. The Employer agrees to discuss with the Guild any proposal to abolish, create, transfer or reclassify jobs which fall within the bargaining unit.
5. Employees hired to fill vacancies will be hired at the starting rate of the appropriate grade, with the exception that where this proves impractical an employee may be hired at a higher step, with the specific agreement of the Guild. Each employee will advance through the appropriate pay grade schedule and will receive the wage increments specified each year on the anniversary date of their employment, until they reaches the top of the grade.

CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE. 4.1 Effective January 1st, 2017, and up to and including December 31st, 2020 the classification and salaries shall be those as shown in Schedule “A” hereto attached and forming a part of this Agreement.
4.2 The Board shall not make any deductions from a member’s salary unless authorized by statute, court order, order of an arbitrator of Arbitration Board, this agreement or a written agreement between the Board and Association.
4.3 Where such a member is assigned, in accordance with this agreement, to a lower paying job, the rate of pay shall not be reduced.
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE. (1) Effective January 1, 2015 and up to and including December 31, 2017, the classification and salaries shall be those shown in Schedule "A" hereto attached and which is made a part of this Agreement.
(2) In addition to the salaries mentioned in sub-paragraph (1) hereof, shift differentials shall be paid at the rate of:
(a) One and one quarter percent (1.25%) of the hourly rate of a 1st Class Constable per hour to those who commence a shift between the hours of noon and 6:00 p.m.
(b) One and one half percent (1.5 %) of the hourly rate of a 1st Class Constable per hour to those who commence a shift between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. of the next day.
(c) Effective January 1, 2008, shift premium will cease for any new Member hired thereafter.
(3) The Board shall not make any deduction from a Member's salary unless authorized by statute, court order, arbitration or this Agreement.
(4) Except as authorized or permitted by federal or provincial statute the Board shall not claim a set-off against the salary of any Member, make a claim against such salary for liquidated or unliquidated damages or retain, cause to be returned to itself, or accept, directly or indirectly, any salary payable to a Member.
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE. 1. The established bargaining unit does not include the Employer, or any individual with the authority to hire or fire or reprimand another staff.
2. The wages and salaries for the classifications covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix A – Salary Schedule attached hereto and by this reference is made a part of this Agreement.
3. Present job classifications within the bargaining unit are as follows: Campaign Manager; Field Program Coordinator; Administrative Assistant; Special Events Planner; Bookkeeper; IT Technician AND Web Designer; Social Media Manager; Organizing and Mobilization Coordinator; Internship Coordinator; and Communications Director. Several of these jobs may be combined subject to negotiations with the Union and a memorandum of understanding reached between the Employer and the Union. These duties are further defined by Appendix B - Job Descriptions attached hereto and by this reference is made a part of this Agreement.
4. The President and the Executive Board of the Employer reserve the right to decide what programs and what staff is necessary to carry out the objectives and purposes of the North Carolina State AFL-CIO. Furthermore, the President shall have the authority to appoint personnel as may be needed, to fix their wages or salaries and allowances, and to define their duties after consultation with the Union. The wages or salaries and allowances of any new bargaining unit position will become the subject of negotiations between the President and the Union immediately. After twelve

The salary schedule for the Grade 17 and 18 levels, as set out in the Letter of Agreement between the Board and the Association, dated July 31, 2002 be included in Schedule ‘A’.
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE. 3.01 Effective December 29, 2002, the classifications and salaries of employees sha ll be those shown in Schedule “A” attached hereto and made part of this Agreement.
3.02 Any employee covered by this Agreement who is assigned by the Chief of Police or his designate to perform the duties of a higher rank for any 1 day shall receive the pay of such higher rank for each day so served.
3.03 A Constable who is assigned to the Plainclothes Division and assumes and performs all the duties required of a Constable Plainclothes shall receive the pay of the classification after 3 months continuous assignment. Such pay shall be retroactive to the date of the assignment.
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY SCHEDULE. 4.01 Effective January 1, 2009 and up to and including December 31, 2010, classifications and salaries shall be as set out in Schedule “A” hereto.
4.02 The Board reserves the right to determine the number and use of members needed by the Board at any time and the right to use improved methods, machinery and equipment.
4.03 Police communicators, special constables, court case manager, system administrator and clerks who have been employed by the Board for more than ten (10) years shall be defined as “senior” members and will be remunerated at the rate of 103% of the top rate for their classification. For clarity, this provision does not apply to cadets.
4.04 When required, the Chief or his designate will assign a coach or trainer to provide instruction to a member to learn a new task. Coaches/trainers will be paid a stipend of $8.00 per shift in addition to their regular rate of pay.
4.05 Full time permanent Police Communicators will receive an annual allowance of $500.00 to be paid on the 1st pay in December.
4.06 A member’s classification cannot be changed as outlined in Article 4.01 as per the Employment Standards Act during any period of absence due to illness or injury.
