Classroom Aides and Student Teachers. 7.6.1 The work of each classroom aide while in the classroom shall be directed by the unit member to whom the aide is assigned. 7.6.2 No classroom aide shall participate in the evaluation of a unit member. 7.6.3 The district shall make a good faith effort to offer unit members the opportunity to discuss his/her needs and state preferences before assigning instructional aides. 7.6.4 The district shall work cooperatively with unit members on the assignment of student teachers from local teacher training institutions. No student teacher shall be assigned to work with a unit member over the unit member's objection.
Classroom Aides and Student Teachers. 16.1 Unit members may request to be included on an interview team for prospective classroom aides. 16.2 The District will confer with unit members on the assignment of student teachers from teacher training institutions. 16.3 No student teacher will be assigned to a class without the consent of the administrator and the master teacher.
Classroom Aides and Student Teachers. 1. Instructional aide time shall be provided equitably to all unit members based on student need. 2. Unit members shall have the right to interview prospective classroom aides prior to assignment. The Superintendent shall consult with a unit member before he/she is assigned a classroom aide. The Superintendent/Principal shall make the final decision. 3. The work of instructional aides shall be at the direction of the unit member they are assigned to. 4. The unit member shall periodically discuss with the Superintendent/Principal the performance of the instructional aide under her/his supervision. When an unsatisfactory working relationship can be demonstrated to exist between the unit member and an aide, the unit member shall initiate a written request to the Superintendent that the aide be reassigned or dismissed, if necessary. 5. No instructional aide or any other classified personnel of the District shall participate in the evaluation of a unit member. 6. The District shall work cooperatively with unit members on the assignment of student teachers from teacher training institutions. No student teacher shall be assigned to work with a unit member without the unit member’s approval. Unit members accepting student teachers shall be paid the student teacher fee offered by the educational institution.
Classroom Aides and Student Teachers. The work of instructional aides shall be under the control and direct supervision of the unit member they are assigned to. The unit member shall periodically discuss with the site administrator the performance of the instructional aide under his/her supervision. When an unsatisfactory working relationship can be demonstrated to exist between the unit member and an aide, the unit member may initiate a request to the appropriate administrator that the aide be evaluated. Any action taken shall be at the sole discretion of the site administrator. The District shall work cooperatively with unit members on the assignment of student teachers from the teacher training institutions. No student teacher shall be assigned to work with a unit member without the unit member’s approval. Unit members accepting student teachers shall be paid the student teacher fee offered by the educational institution. If the fee is paid directly to the unit member, the unit member shall retain the entire fee. If the fee is paid to the District, the fee will be paid to the unit member less $40 for District processing and payroll.

Related to Classroom Aides and Student Teachers

  • Student Teachers A. The term "student teacher" as used hereinafter shall refer to student teachers, intern teachers and all other such programs. Agreement to become a supervising teacher of a student teacher shall be strictly voluntary and is recognized not to result in such bargaining unit members becoming supervisors within the meaning of the Public Employment Relations Act (PERA). Probationary teachers are prohibited from accepting student teachers. B. It is expressly agreed that the Association may refuse to permit a bargaining unit member from supervising or directing the activities of a student teacher in the event: 1. The student teacher would displace instructional aides, para- professionals, or other current employees then employed. 2. The use of such student teacher would be used by the Employer as a basis for not hiring additional bargaining unit personnel. C. The Board shall disclose all terms of any agreement between it and any student placing institution. The terms and conditions of placement of student teachers shall be consistent with this agreement, unless otherwise agreed to by the Association. D. The supervising teacher shall have the right to accept an honorarium or other such token of appreciation as may be offered by the student/intern placing institution. E. Prior to acceptance of a student teacher, there shall be a meeting between the teacher, prospective student teacher, principal, president of the Association or an executive committee member of the Association. Following this interview, the teacher shall then have the right to accept or reject the student teacher. F. Any terms or conditions of this section not previously specified in this agreement shall be negotiated between the Board and the Association prior to implementation of future programs.

  • Classroom Management The certificated classroom teacher demonstrates in his/her performance a competent level of knowledge and skill in organizing the physical and human elements in the educational setting.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Training a. The employer, in consultation with the local, shall be responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing harassment and sexual harassment awareness program for all employees. Where a program currently exists and meets the criteria listed in this agreement, such a program shall be deemed to satisfy the provisions of this article. This awareness program shall initially be for all employees and shall be scheduled at least once annually for all new employees to attend. b. The awareness program shall include but not be limited to: i. the definitions of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; ii. understanding situations that are not harassment or sexual harassment, including the exercise of an employer's managerial and/or supervisory rights and responsibilities; iii. developing an awareness of behaviour that is illegal and/or inappropriate; iv. outlining strategies to prevent harassment and sexual harassment; v. a review of the resolution of harassment and sexual harassment as outlined in this Agreement; vi. understanding malicious complaints and the consequences of such; vii. outlining any Board policy for dealing with harassment and sexual harassment; viii. outlining laws dealing with harassment and sexual harassment which apply to employees in B.C.

  • Training and Orientation (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instruction. (b) The Employer shall provide sufficient and adequate training and/or orientation to any employee working in a new or unfamiliar work area or position.

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.

  • Classrooms The Board shall be responsible for maintaining a standard of cleanliness in each teacher’s classroom.

  • Training and Support Licensor shall offer installation support to the Licensee and each of the Members, including assisting with the implementation of any Licensor software. Licensor will provide appropriate training to Licensee and Member staff relating to the use of the Licensed Materials and any Licensor software. Licensor will offer reasonable levels of continuing support to assist Licensee and Members in use of the Licensed Materials, including providing help files and other appropriate user documentation in connection with the use of and access to Licensed Materials. Licensor will, at a minimum, make its personnel available by email, telephone or via the Web, or in person during Licensor’s regular business hours, Monday through Friday, for training and user access support.

  • Training Courses The Employer shall bulletin any training courses and experimental programs for which employees may be selected. The bulletin shall contain the following information: (a) type of course (subjects and material to be covered), (b) time, duration and location of the course, (c) basic minimum qualifications required for applicants. This bulletin shall be posted for a period of two (2) weeks on bulletin boards in all Departments to afford all interested employees an opportunity to apply for such training. The senior qualified applicant shall be selected.

  • Project Team To accomplish Owner’s objectives, Owner intends to employ a team concept in connection with the construction of the Project. The basic roles and general responsibilities of team members are set forth in general terms below but are more fully set forth in the Design Professional Contract with respect to the Design Professional, in the Program Management Agreement with any Program Manager, and in this Contract with respect to the Contractor.
