Master Teacher. The CH-UH Master Teacher Program was developed and implemented in collaborative partnership between the Board and the Union and shall comply with all pertinent statutory provisions, licensure regulations, and requirements as set forth by the Ohio Educator Standards Board.
1. The Master Teacher Committee is comprised of three teachers appointed by the Union and two administrators appointed by the Board. In addition, the Master Teacher Committee may appoint a Master Teacher Committee Xxxxxxx to assist the committee in fulfilling the responsibilities enumerated in #3, below. The appointment of a liaison and the continuation of the liaison’s duties for subsequent school years shall be subject to approval by the Superintendent.
2. The Master Teacher Committee shall have the following responsibilities:
a. Communicating information and updates on the Master teacher Program to the teaching and administrative staffs.
b. Facilitating the Master teacher application process.
c. Confirming the eligibility of candidates for Master Teacher status.
d. Reviewing Master Teacher applications.
e. Granting approval of Master Teacher status to applicants.
3. The Master Teacher Committee shall select a chairperson to call and conduct committee meetings.
4. The Master Teacher Committee shall set a calendar of meetings. Committee members shall be granted released time as needed for the purpose of scoring Master Teacher applications.
5. Minutes of meetings of the Master Teacher Committee shall be recorded, and all meetings shall be conducted in compliance with the Ohio Open Meetings Laws.
6. Should any costs apply to Master Teacher applications required by the Ohio Department of Education, those teachers who are awarded Master Teacher status shall be reimbursed by the Board for such costs.
7. Participation in the district’s Master Teacher Program shall also be accepted by the Board as the participating teacher’s professional growth plan under the Tier II Alternative Evaluation. Therefore, a teacher who completes the Master Teacher Program shall be deemed to have completed a Tier II Evaluation Program.
Master Teacher. Any member who earns Master Teacher status shall be compensated one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). Compensation shall be paid no later than the last pay in June upon submission of documentation of receiving the Master Teacher status.
Master Teacher. The Circleville City School District supports the professionalization of teaching. The Master Teacher Program is a way to recognize and honor teachers who go above and beyond expectations. Circleville City Schools will:
1. Establish the Master Teacher (MT) Committee and indicate it is for the purpose of verifying eligible teachers in the district for Master Teacher using the Ohio Department of Education criteria and to score MT evidence-based portfolios.
2. It is recommended the committee will consist of the Curriculum Director, (1) administrator appointed by the superintendent and (3) Master Teachers and/or National Board Certified Teachers appointed by the CEA.
3. The MT Committee will approve MT applications; receive information about the annual Pickaway County Master Teacher Academy; and participate in MT portfolio scoring day.
4. MT committee members will serve for 1 year.
5. The MT Committee is separate from all evaluation and employment decisions.
6. The MT Committee will receive training to perform their portfolio scoring responsibilities.
7. The MT Committee will be provided release time to score Master Teacher portfolios.
8. The MT Committee will have adequate resources (space, equipment, support services, etc.) to do the job. A Master Teacher strives for distinguished teaching and continued professional growth as specified by the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession. The Master Teacher program creates a resource of teacher leaders to advance the profession and encourages high quality teachers to remain in the classroom. Master Teachers demonstrate excellence inside and outside of the classroom through consistent leadership and focused collaboration to maximize student teaching. A Master Teacher will receive a $1,000 incentive awarded at the beginning of the school year following the successful designation of Master Teacher (renewable every five years by successful re-submission of a portfolio.)
Master Teacher. Northmont City Schools will use the services of the Montgomery County Educational Service Center (MCESC) for the purpose of implementation of the Master Teacher program. Teachers have the opportunity to apply for contact hours through the LPDC. A teacher serving on the MCESC Master Teacher committee may receive contact hours or compensation at committee rate.
Master Teacher. 281 The majority of Members on the committee shall be teachers appointed by the Association President. The Association President shall appoint an at-large Member to serve on the committee. Said Member shall have voting rights on the committee but shall not serve as a reviewer/grader of a teacher’s application for Master Teacher status. Members on the committee shall be provided release time during the work day to complete necessary work or provided the curriculum rate of pay for all time worked beyond the work day. The committee itself shall determine whether or not to conduct necessary business during the work day working within the confines of the approved Board approved budget allotted for curriculum.
Master Teacher. A Master Teacher is a teacher who demonstrates excellence inside and outside the classroom through consistent leadership, focuses on maximizing student learning, and strives for distinguished teaching and continued professional growth. The Master Teacher program is a voluntary professional growth opportunity for teachers of the District. A teacher certified through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), Ohio teachers of the year, and Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching recipient is inherently eligible for Master Teacher status. Teachers who meet the requirements and are awarded Master Teacher status shall be compensated with a one-time lump sum payment of $500, less applicable payroll withholdings. The District will remain in the Xxxxxx County Master Teacher Consortium unless the Superintendent and Association President agree otherwise. The Association President shall appoint Association member(s) to the consortium. These teacher(s) shall receive release time during the workday to meet with the consortium, and consortium meetings will not be scheduled outside the workday. If the parties agree to leave the above consortium, then a District Master Teacher Committee shall be established to oversee the Master Teacher Program. The Committee's responsibilities shall include the following:
1. Facilitate the application process;
2. Confirm candidate's eligibility;
3. Review Master Teacher applications; and
4. Determine the District's Master Teachers. The Committee shall be composed of five (5) members: three (3) Association members and two (2) Administrators. Association members shall be appointed by the Association President. Administrators shall be appointed by the Superintendent. Committee members shall be properly trained. Training will occur within the workday and release time will be granted. The Committee shall meet as often as its members deem necessary to complete their work. Meetings will occur within the workday and work year.
Master Teacher. A. A Master Teacher Committee shall be established for the purpose of designating teachers in the building/district as Master Teachers.
B. The Master Teacher Committee shall be comprised of a majority of practicing teachers. The association shall appoint three (3) teachers to the committee and the Superintendent shall appoint two (2) district administrators.
C. The Master Teacher Committee members shall jointly establish a plan of operation for the appropriate designation of a Master Teacher, including but not limited to: the time and location of meetings, the application and review process, the dissemination of general information to local association members, and the appeal procedure.
D. The term of office for members of the Master Teacher Committee shall be three (3) years, and they shall be staggered.
E. The Master Teacher Committee shall have no involvement or relation to an employee’s performance evaluation or any employment decision.
F. Meetings of the Committee will occur outside of the school day. A stipend of twenty dollars ($20) per hour will be paid to bargaining unit members serving on the Committee.
G. The Master Teacher Committee shall be provided with adequate and secure space for storage of records, files and any other necessary materials.
H. Upon attaining the designation of Master Teacher, bargaining unit members will receive a one-time stipend of $500.00.
Master Teacher. A Master Teacher Committee shall be established for the purpose of designating teachers in the District as a master teacher in conformance with state law and regulations. Members of the Committee will be compensated at .0007 of the base per hour for approved work outside the work day.
Master Teacher. Teacher is a teacher who demonstrates excellence inside and outside the classroom through consistent leadership, focuses on maximizing student learning, and strives for distinguished teaching and continued professional growth. The Master Teacher program is a voluntary professional growth opportunity for teachers of the District. A teacher certified through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), Ohio teachers of the year, and Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching recipient is inherently eligible for Master Teacher status. The Association President shall appoint teacher member(s) to the consortium. These teacher(s) shall receive release time during the workday to meet with the consortium, and consortium meetings will not be scheduled outside the workday. If the parties agree to leave the above consortium, then a District Master Teacher Committee shall be established to oversee the Master Teacher Program. The Committee's responsibilities shall include the following:
Master Teacher. Nothing in the Master Teacher committee process shall have an adverse impact on any educator's performance evaluation and under no circumstances is the involvement in the activities of Master Teacher recognition to be used for employment decisions by the Board.
