Committee Responsibility. The committee’s responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, approval of individual professional development plans for all certificated employees, approval of all C.E.U.’s, course work, workshops, equivalent activities, etc. that could be used for professional growth.
Committee Responsibility i. The Committee's responsibility shall be to review and approve professional development plans, course work, continuing education units, and/or other equivalent activities that a teacher proposes to meet the requirements of the Ohio Department of Education rules on licensure and certification.
ii. The Committee shall also be charged with monitoring the quality and scope of professional development opportunities that lead to CEU approval. The plan may include, but is not limited to, staff in-service days, college and continuing education opportunities, on a staff-wide level.
iii. Minutes of all meetings shall be forwarded to the Association President, Superintendent, and Treasurer.
Committee Responsibility. The committee’s responsibility shall include, but not be limited to, approval of individual professional development plans to be used for license/certificate renewal. The committee shall also have the responsibility for preapproval of all activities, CEU and course work that is to be used for license/certificate renewal. The LPDC shall have no authority to make any decision contrary to any provision of the Negotiated Master Agreement. The LPDC shall have no authority to make any decision requiring the expenditure of funds without the prior approval of the Superintendent.
Committee Responsibility. A committee composed of the Human Resources Manager, the Special Services Director, the Site principal or Teacher designated by the Site Principal and two (2) PSE Union Representatives (chosen by the Union) shall be responsible for resolving disputes involving core competency verification or training issues.
Committee Responsibility. The Committee’s responsibility shall be to review and approve Individual Professional Development Plans for staff members, approve course work, continuing education units, and/or other professional development activities that a teacher proposes to meet the requirements of the Ohio Department of Education rules on licensure and certification within the scope of Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.22.
Committee Responsibility. (a) The Committee is a public body established under and with powers provided by the statutes of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to derogate from the powers and responsibilities of the Committee under the statutes of the Commonwealth or the rules and regulations of agencies of the Commonwealth. As to every matter not covered by this Agreement, the Committee retains the powers, rights and duties that it has by law and may exercise the same without any such exercise being made the subject of a grievance or arbitration proceeding here under.
(b) Subject to the provisions of ARTICLE 21(b) of this Agreement, the Committee shall have the right to promulgate rules and regulations pertaining to the Administrators so long as the rules and regulations do not conflict with any terms or conditions of this Agreement.
Committee Responsibility. Setting meeting dates, time, and locations.
Committee Responsibility. The committee is also responsible for evaluating and approving staff members’ individual professional development requests based on criteria established by the committee. The Board will establish and maintain an account in the amount of $75,000 solely for the payment of expenses of Members attending such meetings. The payment of expenses will be inclusive of the cost of a substitute teacher. When Members are required to attend meetings and conferences due to significant curriculum changes, the Board will provide additional funds to pay for their expenses. A sub-committee of the negotiating team will meet once a year to evaluate the effectiveness and funding levels of this committee.
Committee Responsibility. The committee's general responsibility will be to provide recommendations for a safe and healthful workplace by recognizing hazards and recommending abatement of hazards and education programs. The committee shall:
a. Meet on a definitely established schedule, but in no case less frequently than once a quarter;
b. Make periodic inspections to detect, evaluate, and offer recommendations for control of potential health and safety hazards to the appropriate administrator;
c. Promote health and safety education;
d. Appoint members of the committee to accompany inspections, investigations, or other established Department safety functions;
e. Keep and review minutes of all committee meetings;
f. The committee should operate and establish its rules consistent with the above principles. Members of the Health and Safety Committee will be paid at their regular rate while performing committee duties.
Committee Responsibility. The Committee's responsibility shall include the approval of Individual Professional Development Plans (IPDP) for all certified/licensed employees whose certificate/license is due for renewal/upgrade/conversion. The Committee shall also maintain a file of each certified/licensed employee containing IPDP's, transcripts, outside activities, training or other areas deemed necessary by the Committee.
