Compassionate (Family Medical) Leave. All employees who meet the eligibility requirements for personal compassionate leave per the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA) shall be provided such leave in accordance with that Act. Seniority shall accrue during the duration of this leave.

MOTOR CITY COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION UNIFOR AND ITS LOCAL 240 cope343/rs LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING # 1 – RE: HOURS OF WORK In the event the company expands the current hours of operation, Article 15:00 (normal hours of operation) may be amended but shall not exceed the following: Thirty-five hours per week for all employees except Teller Co-ordinator – thirty-eight (38) hours per week. Prior to implementing a change to the current Article 15:00, the company will provide the union with one (1) months’ notice. Once notice has been given the company will meet with the union to seek input and recommendations on the new shifts that arise from the change. New shifts will consist of straight time hours per week. New shifts will not be split shifts. Work schedules will be posted two (2) weeks in advance. Once the new schedules have been established they will be offered to employees in accordance with seniority. If none of the seniority employees volunteer for the new shift(s), then the low seniority employee(s), qualified to do the work, will be assigned to cover the new shifts. Employees accepting or assigned to the new shifts will be governed by all the terms of the collective agreement. When and if the company expands the current five (5) day work week to a six (6) day work week, the parties will meet to establish new shift schedules that would include Saturday as part of the normal straight time hours of work. In the event a dispute arises over the interpretation or implementation of the new shifts, the union reserves the right to file a grievance and proceed to arbitration if necessary. During the grievance/arbitration procedure the parties will work the schedules proposed by the company until resolution is found. The parties agree that any dispute arising out of this letter of understanding will be submitted to expedited arbitration in order to avoid a lengthy delay in reaching a resolution. For purposes of this section, furlough days and days worked during off-basis time shall count as "workdays". Family Care and Medical Leave absences of twenty (20) consecutive working days or less can be granted by the immediate administrator or designee. Leaves of twenty (20) or more consecutive working days can be granted only by submission of a formal leave application to the Classified Personnel Assignments Branch.
