PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION. 18.01 Nurses, within the spirit of the Public Health Services Learning and Development Policy, shall have the opportunity for learning and development through learning events designed to assist the individual to function in a more efficient and effective manner. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION. 6 The Hospital strives for excellence through continuous improvement efforts. The Hospital seeks and 7 supports educational opportunities for the nursing department recognizing that knowledge is power 8 and the key to change. 10 In order to meet and exceed the standards of patient care, the Hospital requires specific national 11 certifications or required courses. The Hospital will pay for fees and/or expenses of mandatory 12 education in accordance with Legacy policy.

The 31 Hospital seeks and supports educational opportunities for the nursing department 32 recognizing that knowledge is power and the key to change. 34 In order to meet and exceed the standards of patient care, the Hospital requires specific 1 national certifications or required courses as outlined below (required course work). 3 The Hospital will pay registration fees for courses required as a condition of employment.

Each nurse is encouraged to present suggestions for improving Unity’s education 8 In order to meet and exceed the standards of patient care, Unity requires specific national 9 certifications or required courses.

The Hospital will pay for fees and/or expenses of 10 mandatory education in accordance with Legacy policy. 12 Paid Educational Time – Conference/Seminar 13 The Hospital supports professional nursing skills development through opportunities to 14 participate in seminar and workshop experience. 16 Paid Educational Time shall be provided in accordance with Legacy policy applicable to 17 similarly-situated non-bargaining unit employees. 19 Paid Educational Time is subject to administrative approval. Criteria for approval of 20 educational requests are based primarily on relevance to current job description.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION a. The County shall budget for and pay the professional dues and subscriptions incurred by the Employee for his participation in such national, regional, state, and local associations or organizations as he deems necessary or desirable for his continued professional growth and advancement, and for the good of the County; provided, that with respect to local associations and organizations, the County’s obligation shall be for payment for one (1) civic club of Employee’s choice.
