EMERGENCY LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. 1. A teacher xxx, when a dependent member in the immediate family (spouse, parent, grandparent, grandchild, child, sibling) is confined to home through illness, and where no other adequate care is available, be granted upon application up to three (3) days leave of absence which shall be charged against the teacher’s accumulated sick leave.

EMERGENCY LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. In the case of illness of a spouse (including common-law relations), son, daughter, father, mother, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, grandparent, she/he shall be entitled, after notifying her/his supervisors, to use up to a maximum of three (3) days paid leave, to be deducted against the teacher‘s sick leave, at any one time for this purpose.
EMERGENCY LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. 1. The Superintendent, in their discretion, shall grant up to three (3) days leave of absence without loss of salary to a teacher in the case of serious illness of a spouse, child, parent, brother or sister. The discretion shall be exercised reasonably. 2. The Superintendent may authorize extensions of such leave at the daily cost of a Teacher Teaching On Call. EMERGENCY LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. 1. A teacher, upon notifying his/her Administrative Officer, may utilize up to two (2) days total accumulated sick leave credits each school year in the event of the illness within his/her immediate family. Leave shall not be granted if a teacher has depleted his/her accumulated sick leave credits. 2. The teacher shall notify in writing his/her Administrative Officer. In the event notice cannot be given, the teacher shall advise his/her Administrative Officer prior to leaving the work site or prior to the commencement of the work day and shall submit confirmation of the request upon return.
EMERGENCY LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. In the case of an illness of a child residing at the employee's residence or due to spousal incapacity as substantiated through medical certification if requested and, when no other person can provide for the needs of the ill person, an employee with fifteen (15) or more unused sick days shall be entitled, after notifying their supervisor to use up to a maximum of three (3) days sick leave entitlement per illness and a maximum of five (5) days per year. Immediate family is as defined as a spouse, son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in- law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in- law, grandparent, grandchild, or any other person living within the same household as the employee. EMERGENCY LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. In the case of sudden illness in the family of an employee, a principal may grant up to three day’s leave, with pay, each school year to an employee so that he/she may care for that member provided that the employee has made every effort to obtain alternate care.

EMERGENCY LEAVE FOR FAMILY ILLNESS. Where an employee makes written application for compassionate leave because of serious illness within the employee's immediate family as defined in the Bereavement Leave, Article G.4, leave with pay shall be granted to a maximum of five (5) days annually. The employee may be required to produce a certificate from a duly qualified medical practitioner as proof of such illness in their family.
