Employee Initiated Transfer. 4.10.2.1 A regular permanent employee may apply for transfer to another position of the regular permanent employee’s primary classification by filing a written request with Human Resources. The regular employee shall indicate the job site he/she requests transfer to in his/her application for transfer.
Employee Initiated Transfer a. Available openings for the following school year shall be posted at each site and on the District’s web site. It is the District’s intent to distribute available postings between the last working day in January and the last working day in March. The Association president and vice-president will be notified of vacancies. Following the posting of a vacant position, the employee shall have five (5) work days to notify the personnel department of their interest in the posted position by completing a transfer application form which will be available at the District office and school sites. All applications for transfers, whether faxed, scanned, emailed, mailed, or hand-delivered, must be received in the personnel office by 4:30 p.m. on the posted closing date. Any vacancies which occur during the school year as the result of a termination, promotion, reassignment, or resignation should be backfilled until the end of the school year. Any vacancies which occur after the final posting will be backfilled and listed on the first posting of the following school year.

Employee Initiated Transfer. An employee desiring to transfer to a vacant position shall, within five (5) days after the vacancy has been posted, file a written request for transfer in the Personnel Office. All unit members who request a transfer shall be considered, and if selected, the unit member shall be transferred. Final authorization for all transfers will be made by the Superintendent, or his/her designee, after receiving the recommendation of the Supervisor responsible for the particular area of the assignment and the Superintendent, or his/her designee. EMPLOYER-INITIATED TRANSFER: An employee may be transferred by the Superintendent, or his/her designee, for reasons other than punitive, based upon the justifiable needs and best interests of the District provided that such transfer shall not result in the loss of pay or benefits to the employee. The employee shall be given a minimum of five (5) workdays' notice prior to the effective transfer date and, if requested, a written explanation shall be given the employee.
