Equipment and Protective Clothing. Employees will be provided with equipment in accordance with the company’s Policy Manual. Each employee, whilst on duty, shall maintain personal neatness and conduct themselves and dress in such a manner as to create a favourable impression of the company. In addition, where required by statute, the company shall ensure that employees are supplied with suitable protective clothing and equipment. Such equipment shall remain the property of the company. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure the equipment and protective clothing is correctly used and maintained. Should any equipment be lost, stolen, broken, damaged or require replacement the employee must immediately report it to their manager

Equipment and Protective Clothing. (a) The City agrees to provide rain wear for the use of employees who are required to work outdoors in rainy weather. The City further agrees to provide hip boots, steel-toed rubber boots, waders and safety hats where required, such clothing shall be replaced when necessary by the City. Suitable clothing, including boots, shall be provided by the City for employees' use when working on spray patching and hot asphalt work or when permanently assigned to BIA winter maintenance. Employees shall sign for such special clothing as referred to in this article and all such clothing shall remain the property of the City. In the event the employee, through carelessness, loses such special clothing or equipment supplied by the City, the employee shall be responsible for replacing same with like quality clothing or equipment as soon as the loss becomes evident. (b) All clothing and/or equipment supplied by the City when not in use on City work shall be kept at the Public Works Department facilities. (c) The City will contribute $160 on September 1st of each year towards the cost of safety boots for each employee required by the Construction Safety Act to wear safety boots. This contribution shall be prorated for new employees based on their commencement date. Employees who require safety boots must wear them. Effective September 1, 2015, the contribution shall increase to $165. Mechanics will receive on September 1st each year one and one-half times the boot allowance based on the amounts referenced in the above paragraph. (d) The City will provide a coverall rental and cleaning service for the Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators, Mechanics and Pollution Control. 26.02 All employees shall be given a clothing allowance of $210 on April 1st of each year, and this will increase to $215 on April 1, 2015 for the purchase of acceptable clothing, except the Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators who shall be given a clothing allowance of $95 on April 1st each year. The Electricians shall be given a clothing allowance of $355 on April 1st of each year, and this will increase to $360 on April 1, 2015. This allowance shall be prorated for new employees based on their commencement date. 26.03 The City agrees to provide tool insurance for personal tools used for City business by the Electricians and Mechanics.
Equipment and Protective Clothing. 22.1 Wet weather clothing 22.1.1 An employee, who is required to work in wet conditions, shall be supplied with suitable wet weather clothing including a waterproof coat or cape, waterproof hat, trousers and boots. 22.1.2 Such clothing shall remain the property of the employer and subject to the conditions as set out the uniforms clause of this agreement.

The approved clothing must be worn while on duty. 26.04 Where reasonably required by the nature of their duties, employees shall be eligible to receive coveralls, a spring jacket, a winter coat, winter boots and winter bib pants by returning the used clothing. 26.05 The City will make available rainwear for the use of employees required to work outdoors in rainy weather.

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure the equipment and protective clothing is maintained.   • Protective Equipment Licensee, and its employees and contractors, shall utilize and install adequate protective equipment to ensure the safety of people and facilities, consistent with Applicable Standards. Licensee shall at its own expense install protective devices designed to handle the voltage and current impressed on its Communications Facilities in the event of a contact with the supply conductor, as specified in Applicable Standards. The Grantee must ensure equipment with a per-unit cost of $5,000 or greater purchased with grant funds under this award is used solely for the purpose of this Grant or is properly pro-rated for use under this Grant. Grantee must have control systems to prevent loss, damage, or theft of property funded under this Grant. Requests to purchase previously approved equipment after the first quarter in the Grant Agreement must be submitted to the assigned System Agency contract manager. D. Controlled Assets include firearms, regardless of the acquisition cost, and the following assets with an acquisition cost of $500 or more, but less than $5,000: desktop and laptop computers (including notebooks, tablets and similar devices), non-portable printers and copiers, emergency management equipment, communication devices and systems, medical and laboratory equipment, and media equipment. Controlled Assets are considered supplies. E. System Agency funds must not be used to purchase buildings or real property without prior written approval from System Agency. Any costs related to the initial acquisition of the buildings or real property are not allowable without written pre-approval.
