Exchange Teacher Leave. No more than two (2) non-probationary teachers may be granted one (1) year leaves without pay for the purpose of exchange teaching. If the leave is granted for one semester, notification of intent to return shall be provided in writing to the District Personnel Office by October 1, if returning for Spring Semester, or March 15, if returning for Fall Semester. The following conditions shall be observed for the purpose of exchange teaching:
Exchange Teacher Leave. 7.9.1. A unit member may be granted a leave of absence to participate in an exchange teacher program. A unit member who is granted a leave of absence as an exchange teacher will be granted the same credit for service as if the teaching had been done in the Acalanes Union High School District.
Exchange Teacher Leave. With the approval of the Board, leave for an exchange teacher position may be granted to tenure teachers with five years’ employment with the Board, subject to the conditions prescribed by Section 571 of the School Code of Michigan.
Exchange Teacher Leave. A teacher who is teaching as an exchange teacher will be paid for one school year as though she/he had been teaching in the district system for the year she/he was absent. The district will contribute toward the teacher’s insurance premiums as though she/he had been teaching in the district.
Exchange Teacher Leave. 8.12.1 Unit members who have attained permanent status will be eligible to apply for an exchange teacher leave of absence not to exceed a one-year period. Subsequent to the Superintendent’s recommendation, the Board of Education may grant leaves based on the benefit of the proposed leave to the educational process.
8.12.2 Applicants for exchange teacher leaves must submit their requests by no later than February 1 of the school year preceding the school year in which the leave is requested. The request shall include the name and address of the superintendent of the District in which the unit member expects to serve. An agreement regarding the teacher exchange will be executed between districts.
8.12.3 Unit members serving as exchange teachers shall be compensated in accordance with their regular placement on the salary schedule in Appendix A. Time spent as an exchange teacher shall count towards salary step advancement within the limits of the salary procedures.
8.12.4 Unit members on exchange teacher leave for one semester shall be entitled to return to the same assignment held at the time the leave was granted, unless such assignment was discontinued. A member on leave for more than one semester shall be entitled to return to an assignment comparable to the one held at the time the leave was granted.
8.12.5 A unit member may at his/her option pay the premiums at the prevailing employee group rate and continue to be covered by the District’s medical and dental insurance plans for a period not to exceed one year.
Exchange Teacher Leave. With the approval of the Board, leave for an exchange teacher position may be granted to tenure teachers subject to conditions prescribed in the Illinois School Code.
Exchange Teacher Leave. With the approval of the Board, leave for exchange teacher positions may be granted to tenure teachers, subject to the conditions prescribed by Section 1234 of the Revised School Code.
Exchange Teacher Leave. Teachers shall be granted the opportunity to participate in an exchange teacher program in the United States or a foreign country upon recommendation of the Superintendent and approval of the Board with the following provisions:
a. The Norwalk Board shall continue its exchange teacher under regular salary status.
b. All rights and privileges of the Norwalk teacher shall continue in effect during the exchange period.
c. Teachers shall receive salary credit for participation in the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program.
Exchange Teacher Leave. The Board of Education may grant a unit member who has served in the district for at least five years a one or two-year leave of absence with pay to teach in another school district, in another state or territory, or a foreign country, provided that the other jurisdiction furnishes a unit member of acceptable experience or school level to perform the duties of the unit member who is to be on leave. Such leave does not affect the unit member’s retirement rights or the unit member’s length of service in the district in any way or any other unit member benefits of the system. Some educational advantage must accrue to the district. Normally, travel and living expenses shall not be the responsibility of the district. All details of such exchange shall conform to the laws of the State of New York and the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education.
Exchange Teacher Leave. 13.1.5.1 A leave of absence as an exchange teacher may be granted for a period of one (1) year in length to any teacher who has attained permanent status. The unit member may request one (1) additional year's leave of absence from the Superintendent or designee.
13.1.5.2 To apply for this leave the unit member must submit a request in writing to the Human Resources Services before February 1 of the school year prior to the school year for which leave is sought, unless leave is sought for the second semester only, in which case the request must be submitted by the prior October
