GENERAL APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES. 12.1 The Parties agree that the long-term health of UNBC requires a xxxxxxxx xxxx of continuing Faculty Members, Librarian Members, and Senior Laboratory Instructors engaged in teaching and research. 12.2 The Parties agree that high teaching standards are of fundamental importance. Accordingly, the Employer agrees that only Members shall teach courses approved by the University Senate for University credit except for: (a) academic administrators appointed pursuant to Article 18; (b) persons employed by another institution with which the University has in place an agreement duly ratified by Senate that provides for the sharing of teaching resources and personnel in order to provide special educational opportunities otherwise unavailable to UNBC students. 12.3 All appointments and appointment procedures shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Article 2 (Academic Freedom), Article 7 (Non-Discrimination), and Article 11 (Employment Equity). 12.4 All categories of initial appointment shall be made by the Employer, which shall consider recommendations from the Xxxx, Program Chair and Appointment Selection Committee, University Librarian Members’ and Librarian Appointment Selection Committee as per Articles 12.6, 12.7, 13.11, 13.12, 15.4, 15.5, 16.5, 16.6, 17.3 and 72.

GENERAL APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES a) Reasonable efforts shall be made to fill vacancies promptly. b) The authorization to fill a vacant position must be provided by the Vice-President. c) Following receipt of authorization to fill a vacant position, the Xxxx shall inform the appropriate Assistant Director or appropriate administrator for librarian positions located outside the Library to coordinate a search. Advertisement d) The Assistant Director or appropriate administrator for librarian positions located outside the Library, shall prepare the posting and/or advertisement and shall submit it to the LASC for review and modification if necessary. The advertisement shall clearly state the relevant qualifications and shall include rank. In addition, the following shall be a standard statement on advertisements: “Concordia University is committed to employment equity.” e) The advertisement shall then be sent to the Xxxx for approval. f) The LASC shall be convened within twenty (20) days following approval of the posting and advertisement by the Xxxx, in order to review the modifications made to the posting, the advertisement, and the required qualifications and the general hiring procedures. Appropriate administrative personnel shall be invited to this meeting. g) All positions to be filled shall be advertised both internally and externally. h) Advertising may include notices sent to library schools, library listservs and/or other media. The advertising copy shall be sent to the Association and the JEEC by the Xxxx within ten (10) days of its placement. The qualifications relevant to each vacant position shall be clearly stated. Short-listing of internal applicants i) All librarian members, upon application, shall be short-listed and interviewed for open probationary librarian positions in the University for which they meet the advertised qualifications. GENERAL APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES. 12.1 The Parties agree that the long-term health of UNBC requires a xxxxxxxx xxxx of continuing faculty, librarians, and senior laboratory instructors engaged in teaching and research. 12.2 The University agrees that Library functions commonly associated with the exclusive duties and responsibilities of professional librarians in Canadian universities will be performed by professional librarians, and the University will endeavour to assign responsibilities and workload accordingly. 12.3 The Parties agree that high teaching standards are of fundamental importance. Accordingly, the University agrees that only Members shall teach courses scheduled by the Registrar except for: (a) Academic administrators appointed pursuant to Article 18; (b) Persons employed by another institution with which the University has in place an agreement duly ratified by Senate that provides for the sharing of teaching resources and personnel in order to provide special educational opportunities otherwise unavailable to UNBC students; (c) Persons who teach at UNBC as part of their teaching load assigned by another post secondary institution and hired according to normal hiring procedures at UNBC; and (d) Graduate students who are hired to teach part time pursuant to Article 14.6. 12.4 All appointments and appointment procedures shall be made in accordance with the provisions of Article 2 (Academic Freedom), Article 7 (Non-Discrimination), and Article 11 (Employment Equity). 12.5 All categories of initial appointment shall be made by the University, which shall consider recommendations from the Xxxx, Program Chair and Appointment Selection Committee as per Articles 12.7, 13.12, 15.8, 16.8, 17.3 and 72.4. 12.6 This Article does not address unremunerated appointments such as honorary or adjunct appointments.

  • Medical Appointments Medical appointments may be charged to sick leave. The employee must notify the supervisor of a medical appointment at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance except in case of emergency.

  • Appointment of Sub-processors Client acknowledges and agrees that (a) Data Processor’s Affiliates may be used as Sub-processors; and (b) Data Processor and/or Data Processor’s Affiliates respectively may engage third-party Sub-processors in connection with the provision of the Services.
