Hospitalization During Vacation. Any employee hospitalized while on vacation shall, upon request and upon submission of sufficient evidence of the hospitalization, be entitled to change the employee’s vacation status to sick leave for all days hospitalized and any subsequent days necessary for recovery. Upon submission of the request with evidence, any vacation charges to the employee for the duration of the illness shall be restored to the employee’s credit.

Hospitalization During Vacation. A full-time employee who is hospitalized due to illness or injury during his/her vacation may file a claim for sick pay benefits. The unused vacation pay shall be returned and the unused vacation shall be rescheduled following the employee's return to work. In the event the unused vacation envelopes the December 31st cut-off date, the Employer may, at their discretion, pay the outstanding vacation pay or reschedule the vacation in the next vacation year. When an employee cancels his/her vacation outside of peak periods or due to STD, LTD, WCB or MPI the Employer will repost the available dates. Employees with open weeks may bid in order of seniority for said unused vacation time. For the purposes of this Article, peak periods shall refer to weeks in which all eligible vacation time is already booked by other employees.
Hospitalization During Vacation. If an employee is hospitalized as an in-patient during his vacation period and presents a physician's statement specifying the hospitalization date(s), the time involved in the hospital may be charged to the employee's accumulated sick leave and not to his vacation.

Hospitalization During Vacation. Should an employee demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the employer, that the employee was admitted to a hospital as an "in-patient" in excess of seven (7) days during the course of the employee’s vacation, the employee shall be considered to be on sick leave for such period of time, subject to the provisions of Article 15. Vacation time not taken as a result of the above shall be taken at a mutually agreeable later date.

Hospitalization During Vacation. Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to serious illness, which commenced prior to and continues into the scheduled vacation period, the period of such illness shall be considered sick leave. The employee must notify the Employer at the time the illness commences and prior to the scheduled vacation in order to claim sick leave under Article 13. Where an employee's scheduled vacation is interrupted due to a serious illness requiring the employee to be an in-patient in a hospital the period of such hospitalization shall be considered sick leave. The portion of the employee’s vacation, which is deemed to be sick leave under the above provisions, will not be counted against the employee's vacation credits.
Hospitalization During Vacation. An employee who is the victim of an accident or an illness and who therefore must be hospitalized during his vacation may, if he wishes, adjourn his vacation to a later date for the number of days the hospitalization lasts.
