Hour Shift Agreement. Implementation and Application This letter sets out the conditions under which the parties agree to implement schedules of working hours, designated as the "T" schedule or "X" schedule and attached hereto as Appendix "A" and "B" respectively, applicable only to employees assigned to operations scheduled for one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours per week or one hundred and sixty (160) hours per week. It is understood that the Company may implement a schedule which is not identical to the schedule set out in Appendices "A" or "B", however, such schedule will be similar in pattern to these attached schedules and this letter will apply to such similar schedules. It is understood that this Agreement covers all employees who are working schedules in the same pattern as the "T" Schedule or "X" Schedule. The provisions of the Basic Agreement will apply to employees who work eight (8) hour shifts. The Company may institute schedules under this Agreement for a six (6) month trial period. At the conclusion of such trial period, in order for the schedule to continue, the Company and Union will jointly canvass or conduct a vote of employees affected by the schedule to determine whether they wish to continue the twelve (12) hour shift schedule, requiring the consent of sixty (60) percent of the affected employees to confirm the continuation of the schedule. In view of the potential impact on employees and operations, this schedule will be subject to continuous monitoring by the Company. Representatives of the Company and the Union will meet from time to time at the request of either party, for the purpose of reviewing the experience relative to the operation of such schedule and more specifically to discuss any change in conditions in areas such as: safety and health, absenteeism, operational capability, legislative prohibition, etc., with the view to determining whether such schedule should be continued or terminated. The Company or the Union may, upon giving thirty (30) days written notice, terminate the application of the schedule to a group of employees.
Hour Shift Agreement. It is understood that employees working the 12-hour rotating shift or a straight 8-hour shift schedule will in no case receive standard overtime for hours worked in excess of eight in a 24-hour period. It is also understood and agreed that employees working the 12-hour shift schedule will in no case receive more compensation for PTO, holidays, jury duty leave, disability leave, or other paid absences than they would normally receive by working an 8-hour fixed-shift arrangement except as expressly modified elsewhere in this Agreement. Either the Company or the Union may cause the 12-hour Shift Agreement to be discontinued at any time by providing the other party 60 working days advance written notice that the shift is to be discontinued. The following is the agreement:
Hour Shift Agreement. STANDBY DUTY Employees on days of rest will be designated for standby duty, and a schedule posted. An employee who is on standby duty who is incapable of coming to work due to illness must contact supervision as far in advance as is possible and will normally provide an acceptable replacement. When requested by the Company, such employees shall provide an acceptable physician’s certificate verifying their inability to come to work as a result of illness. Failure to meet these requirements shall represent a breach of Company rules. Overtime payment in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement will apply for overtime hours worked as shift relief; however, no additional compensation will be payable by the Company in respect of standby duty. If a requirement arises for additional personnel on standby duty, employees who are on extra days off will be required to be on standby duty for their shift only. E EOUS Any applicable Standard Policies and Procedures, or Articles of the Collective Agreement not specifically documented in this Agreement are to be interpreted in the context of twelve (12) hour shifts. Should any disagreement arise on issues not specifically mentioned in this Agreement, discussions will be held with a view to resolving the issue.
Hour Shift Agreement. Shift Employees Employees shall work a schedule (Attachment (1) which provides an average of forty (40) hours per week over each full six (6) week period. To attain the forty (40) hour average, each employee will be assigned an extra day off during each six (6)week period (not specified on the schedule attached).
