Hour Shift Agreement. (a) An Employer has a 12 Hour Shift Agreement where:
(i) the Employer had, at the time this Agreement commenced, an existing 12 Hour Shift Agreement reduced to writing and signed by the Employer party and ANMF;
(ii) the Employer was, at the time this Agreement commenced, conducting a trial for 12 hour shifts. A trial under this clause requires written agreement with ANMF;
(iii) during the operation of this Agreement, a new trial for 12 hour shifts is, by agreement with ANMF, conducted; or
(iv) following a trial, any agreed outcome for an ongoing 12 hour shift agreement will be reduced to writing and signed by the Employer party and ANMF.
(b) A 12 Hour Shift agreement that commences after this Agreement comes into operation will be implemented in accordance with clause 93.8 (Implementation of a non-complying proposal) of this Agreement.
(c) Any 12 hour shift trial or agreement must allow, as a minimum, for 2 meal breaks per 12 hour shift - one unpaid 30 minute meal break and one 20 minute paid meal break and three 10 minute paid tea breaks.
(d) A 12 hour shift trial or agreement may be terminated either:
(i) in the manner provided in the shift trial or agreement; or
(ii) in the case of the Employer, following consultation in accordance with clause 11 of this Agreement (Consultation) and, where relevant, clause 12 (Redundancy and Associated Entitlements).

(iv) following a trial, any agreed outcome for an on-going 12 hour shift agreement will be reduced to writing and signed by the Employer party and ANMF.
Hour Shift Agreement. The purpose of this Memorandum of agreement is to mutually agree to continue for the term of the Collective Labour Agreement, a 10-hour shift to run for four consecutive days. This would affect employees on the afternoon shift who are on a regular 2-shift rotation. The Company agrees to pay holiday pay to anyone working on this shift who would normally qualify for holiday pay under the terms of the Collective Labour Agreement, pay at 10 hours. It is understood by the Union that if overtime is required employees on the 10 hour shift operation may be required to work a fifth 8 hour shift on Friday. It is also understood that the Company or the Union can bring any problem caused by the operation of this shift to the attention of the other party in an effort to make a resolution.
Hour Shift Agreement. That the Company and the Union agree to explore ways of recognizing the 24 hour shift agreement within the body of the Collective Agreement so that when the Collective Agreement is to be renegotiated, a plan may be in place for language on the 24 hour shift to be placed within the new Agreement.
Hour Shift Agreement. Shift Employees
Hour Shift Agreement. It is understood that employees working the 12-hour rotating shift or a straight 8-hour shift schedule will in no case receive standard overtime for hours worked in excess of eight in a 24-hour period. It is also understood and agreed that employees working the 12-hour shift schedule will in no case receive more compensation for PTO, holidays, jury duty leave, disability leave, or other paid absences than they would normally receive by working an 8-hour fixed-shift arrangement except as expressly modified elsewhere in this Agreement. Either the Company or the Union may cause the 12-hour Shift Agreement to be discontinued at any time by providing the other party 60 working days advance written notice that the shift is to be discontinued. The following is the agreement:
1. All rotating shift workers at Y-12.
2. The shift consists of two 40-hour, one 44-hour, and one 36-hour workweek.
3. The normal shift hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
4. In no case will employees working the 12-hour shift schedules receive standard overtime for hours worked in excess of eight in a 24-hour period
5. For working 12 hours on holidays, an employee receives two and one-half times for the first 8 continuous hours of scheduled shifts that fall on the holiday and straight time for the last 4 hours of the scheduled shift.
6. When two worked holidays fall back to back and an employee begins work at 6 p.m. on the first holiday, he/she will receive 16 hours pay at two and one-half times.
7. When either scheduled day off (SDO) or scheduled to work a 4-hour short day on the plant-observed holiday, the holiday for the employee will be moved to the next scheduled workday of 8 hours or more.
8. PTO time is accounted for in increments of 1 hour. Four hours will be one-half day for record purposes and 12 hours will be recorded as one and one-half days of PTO.
9. An employee may request to be allowed to work 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. rather than 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the 4-hour short day. The request must be made in advance and not on the day of the request change. Approval or disapproval for such change will be at management’s discretion and is not subject to the Grievance Procedure or Arbitration and will not be approved if it would require relief at premium or overtime rates.
10. Sick days are approved by hours and not by days.
11. Funeral leave allowance will be counted as a maximum of three 12-hour shifts when applicable.

Hour Shift Agreement. Further to the Collective Agreement between the University of Guelph and Unifor and its Local 2003E, it is agreed that the twelve (12) hour shift agreement will become permanent upon ratification of this Agreement. The regular shift schedules shown below shall apply for the duration of this Collective Agreement. The following rules will apply during the 12 Hour Shift Arrangement:
Hour Shift Agreement. The Company and the Union agree that the following conditions shall apply to employees designated for twelve (12) hour shifts. All other provisions of the Collective Agreement remain in full force and effect. It is further agreed that the provisions of the Canada Labour Code, Part III and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and that any increased costs and/or operational difficulties must remain acceptable to the Company. Twelve (12) hour shifts may be discontinued at the request of either party and will revert to the eight (8) hour shift schedule in effect prior to the introduction of twelve (12) hour shifts. Prior to discontinuation, the parties will meet to discuss the schedule and mechanics of reverting back to the eight (8) hour shift system.
Hour Shift Agreement. Some employment conditions which apply to employees who work on 12-hour continuous shift operations may be different than those described in various Articles of this Agreement. A special Letter of Agreement concerning 12-hour shift employees is attached as APPENDIX "B" to this Agreement.
