HOURS OF WORK AND BREAKS. SECTION 1: EMPLOYER shall have the full and exclusive authority to schedule the work, establish work shifts, and assign employees to such shifts as required, except as expressly modified by this contract.

HOURS OF WORK AND BREAKS. Starting times on a three shift schedule will be determined as needed to meet operational requirements. Further, starting times on shift will be of a regular time and will not fluctuate on a daily basis. Day ShiftStart time between 6:00 a.m. & 7:00 a.m. Afternoon Shift - Start time between 2:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. Night Shift - Start time between 10:00 p.m. & 11:00 p.m.. (First shift to start approximately 2200 on Sunday). The Company will endeavor to make the weekly schedule available by noon Wednesday of the preceding week. In the event the Company decides only two shifts are required, those shifts will be shift one and shift two. (Days & Afternoons). In the event the Company decides only one shift is required that shift will be day shift. Shift times will be adhered to when working a Saturday or Sunday. Employees on a rotating schedule will change shifts every one (1) week and will rotate from shift one to shift three to shift two whenever possible. Employees on a one (1) or two (2) shift (8.5 hours) schedule will receive two (2) paid fifteen minute breaks and a 30 minute unpaid lunch. Employees on a three (3) shift schedule will receive two (2) paid fifteen minute breaks and a 20 minute paid lunch. Lunch will be scheduled by the Company not later than five (5) hours into the shift. Breaks will be scheduled as appropriate for the efficient operation of the business; however, there will be a break in each half of a shift. The Company will endeavor to provide a consistent break and meal time as schedules allow. All break times and lunch periods will be posted. An employee who reports for work at the start of his/her normal shift, unless otherwise previously notified by the Company not to do so, and no work is available due to circumstances beyond the Company’s control will be entitled to receive four (4) hours pay in lieu therefore at the employee’s basic straight time rate of pay. Employee’s who commence work and no work is available after commencing work due to circumstances beyond the Company’s control will receive pay for all hours worked with a minimum of four (4) hours pay. Where an employee is required to change shifts during his/her normal scheduled work week, he/she shall be entitled to at least twelve (12) hours off work from the completion of his/her regular shift to the commencement of his/her reassigned shift. Employee will not lose any pay as a result of being reassigned. All rotating shifts will rotate on a weekly basis.

HOURS OF WORK AND BREAKS. (a) At the discretion of the Employer subject to operational requirements, full-time staff may be contracted to work 40 hours per week and accrue 8 hours of leave, hereafter referred to as an Accrued Day Off (ADO) for every 160 hours worked.

  • 00 - HOURS OF WORK 14.01 The Employer does not guarantee to provide work to any employee for regularly assigned hours or any other hours, except as provided for in Article 18.00. Eight (8) hours shall constitute a normal day of work. The normal hours of work shall be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for an eight (8) hour day, with one-half or one hour for lunch at the midpoint of the shift. Forty (40) hours shall constitute a normal week's work, Monday through Friday inclusive. Variances beyond one (1) hour of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. shall be agreed mutually between the Employer and the Business Manager. The one (1) hour variance is conditional upon the Employer giving the Union and affected employees appropriate advance notice. If the foregoing starting or quitting times are changed without mutual agreement, applicable overtime rates shall be paid for any time worked before or after the above hours as a result of the change of the times.

  • HOURS OF WORK i) Where employees are now working a longer daily tour, the provisions set out in this Article governing the regular hours of work on a daily tour shall be adjusted accordingly.
