Jur y Duty. When an employee is called for and serves on jury duty, that employee shall, during such service period, receive full regular compensation from the Port, less any compensation received from the court for such service (excluding travel, meals, or other expenses). Port compensation for jury duty only applies to absence from regularly scheduled work hours. Employees shall forward their jury duty compensation paid by the court to the Port's payroll section upon return from jury duty and receipt of the compensation paid by the court. If an employee is released from jury service prior to the end their scheduled work hours, the employee shall immediately call into work and report to duty or use vacation to cover remaining hours.

Jur y Duty. A regular employee who is required to be absent from work for jury service shall receive regular straight time pay while absent from work by reason of such assignment or interview or selection to serve as juror, for up to and including 40 hours in any one week. Upon receipt of pay for jury service, the employee shall pay the District the amount received as payment for the day absent from work while serving as a juror, except that the employee shall retain the mileage reimbursement. To be eligible for District payments the employee must notify the immediate supervisor at the time the employee was called for jury service. Jur y Duty. If a Driver called for Jury Duty on his normal working day, the Company agrees to pay the equivalent of an eight-and-one-half hour (8 day at straight time, less the amount received for Jury Duty pay. If a Warehouseman or a Maintenance employee is called for Jury Duty on his normal working day, the Company agrees to pay the equivalent of an eight hour (8) day at straight time, less the amount received from Jury Duty pay. It is understood, in the application of this clause, that if a day employee is released from Jury Duty prior to four hours before the end of his normal shift, he must report for work as soon as possible to be entitled to this benefit. Jur y Duty. A. Teachers that serve on jury duty shall receive the necessary leave to fulfill this legal obligation without loss of pay. Pay received for jury service, exclusive of any mileage allowance, shall be turned in to the bookkeeper of the school. This leave shall not be deducted from sick leave or from personal or professional days.
