Military Training/Duty Leave. Up to twenty-one (21) annual days of military training/duty leave will be granted when an employee who is a member of the National Guard or any Reserve Branch of the Armed Forces of the United States is ordered to active duty. This military leave will be granted without loss of pay or other benefit. Military leave will not be granted when the employee has choices of time for training/duty and one of the times is not in conflict with his/her normal workdays.

No adjustments are made to the seniority date, anniversary date, unbroken service date, vacation leave accrual rate, or periodic increment date while an employee is on paid military leave or a military leave of absence without pay or any combination thereof. During such leave, the employee is not entitled to double compensation. In cases where the employee’s military pay is less than or equal to their Municipal pay, the Municipality will recoup the amount of the employee’s military pay. In cases where the employee’s military pay is greater, the Municipality will recoup the total Municipal pay. Such military leaves shall not be deducted from accrued annual leave. Employees ordered to attend additional periods of military duty may take annual leave or leave without pay for such duty.

  • Military Training Leave An employee who has served with the State of Oregon or its counties, municipalities or other political subdivisions for six (6) months or more immediately preceding an application for military leave, and who is a member of the National Guard or of any reserve components of the armed forces of the United States is entitled to a leave of absence with pay for a period not exceeding fifteen (15) calendar days or eleven (11) workdays in any federal fiscal year. If the training time for which the employee is called to active duty is longer than fifteen (15) calendar days, the employee may be paid for the first eleven (11) days only if such time is served for the purpose of discharging an obligation of annual active duty for training in the military reserve or National Guard.

  • Civic Duty Leave A. Employees summoned for jury duty will be granted a leave of absence with pay for time lost from their regular work schedule while on said jury duty upon presentation of the appropriate summons to the department head by the employee.
