HOLIDAYS AND LEAVE. For the purposes of leave provisions part-time employees working less than full-time or less than five days per week or less than 52 weeks per year receive a pro-rated entitlement.

HOLIDAYS AND LEAVE. 10.1 You are entitled to leaves in accordance with the applicable laws and Policies of the Company. As the leave year commences on 1 January your entitlement for this year will be prorated based on your Commencement Date. Any leave entitlement must be taken in accordance with the Policies. Statutory leave is deemed to be taken first.
10.2 In the event that your role is designated as "sensitive" in this context, the Company's Consecutive Leave Vacation /Absence policy stipulates that ten (10) days of your annual leave entitlement must be taken consecutively in each calendar year. This may include statutory, contractual and designated public holidays to the extent not prohibited by law. Your Manager will advise you whether your position is designated as "sensitive".
10.3 Should you remain absent from work, without reasonable explanation, for more than seven (7) consecutive days, it will be presumed that you are no longer interested in working for the Company and have abandoned its services. This will be treated as misconduct under the applicable Policies of the Company and strict action leading up to termination may be taken by the Company In such case, you will not be entitled to any compensation other than such statutory payments that are required to be made to you under applicable laws.

G1.2 In the event of a public holiday falling on a Saturday or a Sunday, such holiday shall be observed in accordance with the Holidays Act and the Holidays (Full Recognition of Waitangi Day and ANZAC Day) Amendment Act 2013. For further information, please visit the staff intranet.
G1.3 Where an employee is required by the Employer to work on a Public Holiday:
(a) they will be paid at time and a half for any hours worked on a Public Holiday; and
(b) if that Public Holiday would otherwise be a working day for the employee, they will be entitled to an alternative holiday to be taken on a day to be agreed between the Employer and employee. If an employee required to work on a public holiday, confirmation will be provided in writing by the Employer. When a public holiday is Monday-ised, and results in a long weekend there is a tradition that Kaiako, Xxxxxxxx and Xxxxxx from Hineteiwaiwai Te Kohanga Reo and Te Puna Kohungahunga, may visit Noho Marae. The parties agree that any attendance at the Marae is strictly voluntary and is not considered to amount to work. However, in acknowledgement of the benefits to the centre/s of relationship building with whanau, as a gesture of good will, the Employer agrees to provide a day off in lieu (one day in each calendar year) for those staff who choose to participate.
