Noon Hour Supervision. 22.1 No teacher shall be required to perform school supervision duties during the school's regularly scheduled noon intermission.
Noon Hour Supervision. A school staff may implement a noon-hour supervision program on a non-profit or cost recovery basis.
Noon Hour Supervision. (a) Current employees shall have the option of the additional work in accordance with seniority and with the provisions of Article 5 - Section 4(i). Current rate of pay and benefits shall apply.
(b) Term of Employment - September to June.
(c) Hours of Work - Up to one (1) hour.
(d) Seniority (Casual) Shall neither exercise seniority nor accumulate seniority. Casual employees shall be considered for regular employment if they are qualified.
Noon Hour Supervision. 16.1 When needed, as determined by the principal, support staff may volunteer to provide noon hour supervision. They shall be entered into the supervision schedule for the school year and prorated to their percentage of contract of employment.
16.2 Full time support staff may earn up to a maximum of three (3) earned days off per school year. Part time support staff will earn days off prorated to their percentage of employment contract.
16.3 Support staff may accumulate earned days off to a maximum of five (5) days.
16.4 Where Support Staff wish to be paid out at the end of June for earned days off, they will be paid at their existing rate of pay.
Noon Hour Supervision. 19.1 The principal of a school shall, after consultation with his staff, organize the staff and any other persons designated by the Employer in such a manner as to provide proper supervision during the noon intermission.
19.2 Any arrangements so made by agreement among the majority of the staff shall be binding upon the entire staff and shall be a condition of employment.
19.3 Any arrangements so made and in compliance with this clause, shall be subject to the approval of the superintendent.
19.4 Where possible, any teacher required to be on duty, in compliance with this clause, shall be entitled to 30 minutes time during the school day free of the school and free of school duties.
Noon Hour Supervision. (a) At the end of each academic school year, if the Noon Hour Supervisor position has been posted and no members of bargaining unit have applied, the position may be appointed to a member outside the bargaining unit.
(b) Where the special needs of student(s) necessitate or an emergent situation arises that could not be reasonably foreseen by the Employer, and require supervision of students during noon hour, the Employer shall have the right to assign employees to the noon hour supervisor position for temporary periods until alternate arrangements can be secured that meet the needs of the student(s).
(c) Any employee assigned to work the noon period (as defined by the xxxx schedule) shall be paid at the Noon Hour Supervisor rate of pay for each day. An employee who works one half the noon period or less shall be paid one half (½) the Noon Hour Supervisor rate for each day.
Noon Hour Supervision. 1. The Xxxxxx River School Board agrees that teachers shall be entitled to a duty- free lunch period, the minimum time for which shall be thirty (30) minutes.
a. The PRDTA agrees to the condition that each elementary classroom teacher shall supervise while students are eating lunch for a period of time set by the principal but not to exceed fifteen (15) minutes where this is present practice.
b. It is further agreed that the teachers in the secondary schools who are responsible for the supervision of the noon period gym program, the supervision in the library and the supervision of the computer room shall not be included in this duty-free lunch hour clause. These teachers shall receive a minimum of twenty (20) minutes duty free time immediately prior to or immediately following any regular noon period in which they supervise, unless there is another mutually agreeable arrangement between the teacher and the principal.
c. The PRDTA also agree that the present practice of noon activity in the gym under the supervision of teachers on a voluntary basis at the elementary schools, will continue and that any teacher who wishes to conduct any activity during their lunch period may do so.
d. It is further agreed by the PRDTA that this clause will be put into effect only if qualified CUPE personnel can be employed for a period of one (1) hour per day to carry out the necessary supervision.
e. Qualified is deemed to mean personnel that are capable of managing, controlling and supervising students in a manner acceptable to the school principal.
f. If qualified CUPE personnel are not available it is agreed that the possibility of hiring teachers to perform noon-hour supervision will be explored.

Noon Hour Supervision. Teachers shall not be expected or required to do noon hour supervision. Where a vacancy exists a teacher may volunteer to do noon supervision. The compensation for one noon coverage will be two hours towards EDO time earned.

It is an expectation that the use of personal days will not unduly interfere with the professional development, educational goals, initiatives and programs of the school and of the SECPSD.
