Other Union Leave. Where leave is not granted above, Union representatives may request and receive short-term leaves of absence for Union business subject to operational requirements. This leave may be without pay or with pay (in the latter case the Union will reimburse the Board for salary.)
Other Union Leave. Subject to operational requirements, at the request of an employee, the Employer may grant an employee a leave of absence without pay to work for the Union.
Other Union Leave. Permission for occasional additional Union Business leaves of absence without pay shall not be unreasonably withheld by the Company on seven (7) days written request of the Union, to Union shop stewards, unit officers, Executive Board members, and negotiating committee representatives for the negotiation and administration of this Agreement.
Other Union Leave. 29.15.3.1 The Employer shall grant a leave without pay for a secondment of one (1) year to an Employee appointed to a position with the Union (other than the Bargaining Unit). Such shall be renewable upon approval of the Executive Director, which will not be unreasonably denied.
29.15.3.2 Subject to the provisions of the current Collective Agreement, the Employee’s position is protected for a period of one (1) year.
Other Union Leave. In addition to the leave described above, an Employee, upon two weeks written notice, may be granted additional leave without pay for the purpose of Union business. Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied.

ARTICLE MEMBERSHIP FEES DEDUCTION Effective the first of the month following the signing of this Agreement, the Employer will, as a condition of employment, deduct an amount equal to the amount of Membership Fees from the pay of all Employees in the Bargaining Unit. The Union shall inform the Employer in writing of the amount of Membership Fees to be deducted from each Employee in the Bargaining Unit. For the purpose of applying Clause deductions from pay for each Employee will occur on a basis and will apply to the extent that earnings are available. Where an Employee does not have sufficient earnings in respect of any period to permit deduction, the Employer shall not be obligated to make such deductions from subsequent salary. From the date of signing and for the duration of this Agreement no Employee organization, other than the Union, shall be permitted to have membership fees deducted by the Employer from the pay of the Employees in the Bargaining Unit. The amounts deducted in accordance with Clause shall be remitted to the Comptroller of the Alliance by cheque within a reasonable period of time deductions are made and shall be accompanied by particulars identifying each Employee and the deductions made on his behalf. The Employer may make deductions for other purposes from an Employee’s pay upon the written request of the Employee. The Union agrees to indemnify and save the Employer harmless against any claim or liability arising out of the application of this Article except for any claim or liability arising out of an error committed by the Employer. The Employer agrees to annually on each Employee’s slip the total amount of Membership Fees deducted for the preceding year.
