Paid General Holidays. All employees shall receive pay for the following General Holidays from date of employment: New Year's Day B.C. Day Family Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day and any other day proclaimed as a General Holiday by the Federal and/or Provincial Government. Payment for such holidays shall be paid on a pro-rated basis according to the employees' daily hours worked. For the purpose of this section, all Casual Employees hired by the Library shall have worked for the Library at least fifteen (15) days in the thirty (30) calendar day period immediately prior to General Holiday to qualify.

Paid General Holidays. (1) The Employer recognizes the following as paid general holidays: New Year's Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Easter Monday Christmas Day Victoria Day Boxing Day Canada Day Christmas Float Day Heritage Day National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and all other holidays proclaimed by the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments. One (1) floating workday shall be provided either prior to Christmas Day or the working day following Boxing Day. The floating day shall be allocated based on the following: If Christmas Day (December 25th) falls on a: Monday the Floating Day shall be December 27th Tuesday the Floating Day shall be December 24th Wednesday the Floating Day shall be December 27th Thursday the Floating Day shall be December 24th Friday the Floating Day shall be December 24th Saturday the Floating Day shall be December 24th Sunday the Floating Day shall be December 28th Compensation for Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When any of the above noted paid holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday and is not declared or proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday. (2) For each of the above holidays, full-time employees shall receive one day's pay at their regular rate of pay. All other employees will receive five percent (5%) of the total of their wages, general holiday pay and vacation pay earned in the 28 days preceding the general holidays outlined above. (3) When any of the above noted holidays fall on an employee's scheduled day off, the employee shall receive another day off with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the employee, or an extra day's pay in lieu thereof by mutual agreement. (4) An employee who is scheduled to work on a holiday shall be paid at the rate of double time (2x).
Paid General Holidays. 12.1 The following paid General Holidays will be observed: New Year's Day Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day December 24 Christmas Day Boxing Day December 31st (a) The employee has no entitlement if he/she fails without reasonable cause to work all of his/her regularly scheduled day of work before the Paid General Holiday or all of his/her first regularly scheduled day of work after the Paid General Holiday. 12.2 Employees will be paid eight (8) hours at their regular rate for each of the above-mentioned paid General Holidays. 12.3 Any employees required to work on any of these days shall receive one and one-half (1½) times his regular rate of pay for all hours worked in addition to his paid General Holiday pay set out in Section 12.2. 12.4 The day proclaimed shall be the day observed. 12.5 Employees shall be entitled to paid General Holidays mentioned above when: 12.5.1 they have been in the employ of the Company thirty (30) calendar days; 12.5.2 they have not been laid off for a period longer than thirty (30) calendar days prior to the General Holiday; 12.5.3 they have not been absent from work due to sickness or injury for a period longer than six (6) months prior to the General Holiday. 12.6 Senior employees shall be given the first opportunity to work on General Holidays, subject to Federal hours of limitation. However, they shall have the right to decline work providing a sufficient number of junior qualified employees are available. 12.7 Should a paid General Holiday fall within the employee's vacation period, the Company agrees to pay the General Holiday involved, at eight (8) hours at the employee's regular hourly rate provided he/she has worked the last regular scheduled shift before and first regular scheduled shift after the vacation period.

  • GENERAL HOLIDAYS 8.01 The following days shall be considered as General Holidays. An employee’s pay for a general holiday shall be as set out in Articles 8.03 and 8.04 below and Article 6.03: New Year’s Day Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday and any other day or portion of a day generally observed by the retail grocery and meat stores and designated as a holiday by the Company. 8.02 In order for a full-time or part-time employee to receive pay for a general holiday, they must: (1) not have been voluntarily absent from work on the scheduled work day prior to and following such holiday; (2) have worked their full, regular designated weekly hours for the week in which holidays, a holiday, or portion of a holiday occur, except for bona-fide illness. Any employee on leave of absence (except employees disentitled for general holiday pay as set out in the following paragraph) granted by the Company, at the request of the employee, shall not qualify for a general holiday with pay if they are absent on both their last scheduled work day prior to, and their first scheduled work day following the general holiday. Any employee receiving a payment under the Company’s Weekly Indemnity Benefit Plan, or Workers Compensation, for the full week in which the General Holiday(s) occurs, and requests for time off for vacation purposes as set out in Article 11.16, shall not be entitled to general holiday pay. 8.03 Eligible full-time employees shall suffer no reduction in their pay for a general holiday as set out in 8.01 above. 8.04 Eligible part-time employees shall be compensated as follows: (a) All part-time employees who have been employed thirty (30) calendar days or more and have worked an average of at least thirty-two (32) hours or more per week in the four (4) weeks preceding the week in which a general holiday occurs, shall receive eight (8) hours’ pay at their regular, hourly rate for each holiday. (b) All part-time employees who have been employed thirty (30) calendar days or more and have worked an average of at least twenty (20) hours a week, but less than thirty-two (32) hours per week in the four

  • Legal Holidays In any case where the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date, but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.

(c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.
