Paid Time Off Usage l. Pre-scheduled Usage: Paid Time Off may be used upon prior request to and approval of management. Except where unforeseen circumstances prevent it, requests to use Paid Time Off must be received no less than thirty (30) days prior to the release date of the department's schedule.

Paid Time Off Usage. Paid time off (PTO) may be used for any personal reasons including, but not limited to, personal business, illness of self or dependent family member(s), medical and dental appointments, for all the purposes authorized under RCW 49.46.210 (1)(b)(c), all applicable leave laws and vacation. An employee may use his/her PTO in quarter-hour (15 minute) increments. Paid time off (PTO) shall be paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay for all hours accrued and approved as paid leave up to forty (40) hours per workweek. The combination of leave time and work time cannot exceed forty (40) hours in one week (Sunday through Saturday). A parent including; a biological, adoptive, de facto, or xxxxxx parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of an employee’s spouse, or registered domestic partner, or a person who stood in loco parentis when the employee was a minor child. A spouse, registered domestic partner, grandparent, grandchild and sibling. (c) When the employee's place of business has been closed by order of a public official for any health-related reason, or when an employee's child's school or place of care has been closed for such a reason; (d) An employee is authorized to use PTO for absences that qualify for leave under the domestic violence leave act, chapter 49.76 RCW. Related to Paid Time Off Usage

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) Executive shall earn and accrue paid-time-off covering vacation and sick time benefits at the rate of twenty (20) days per year for employment periods of up to five years of service. The PTO accrual rate shall automatically increase by five (5) additional days for each additional 5 years of service up to maximum of thirty (30) days per year after 10 years of service. For example, after five years of service, the annual PTO accrual rate shall increase to twenty-five (25) days. Unused PTO shall carry over to the next year, but Executive shall cease accruing further PTO at any time Executive has accrued two times his annual accrual rate. Unused PTO days which are not in excess of two-times the annual accrual rate shall be paid in a cash lump sum payment promptly after Executive’s termination of employment.

  • Paid Time Off The Executive shall be entitled to take paid time off in accordance with the Company’s applicable paid time off policy for executives, as may be in effect from time to time.

  • Sick Leave Usage A. Sick leave may be used for an employee or an employee's child, spouse or parent's illness or injury, hospitalization and appointment pertaining to health.

  • Vacation Usage Each department or agency head shall be responsible for scheduling the vacation periods of their employees in such a manner as to achieve the most efficient functioning of the department or agency and the County service. The granting of a vacation period less than the employee's annual entitlement is to be discouraged so that the full benefit of the vacation plan can be realized by each employee. The appointing authority shall determine when vacations will be taken.

  • Vacation Leave Maximum Employees may accumulate maximum vacation leave balances not to exceed two hundred and forty (240) hours. However, there are two (2) exceptions that allow vacation leave to accumulate above the maximum:

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Compensatory Time Off a. An employee in the bargaining unit shall have the option to elect to take compensatory time off in lieu of cash compensation for overtime work. Compensatory time off shall be granted at the appropriate rate of overtime in accordance with Section 6 of this Article (Overtime).
