Paid Time Off Usage. Pre-scheduled Usage: Paid Time Off may be used upon prior request to and approval of management. Except where unforeseen circumstances prevent it, requests to use Paid Time Off must be received no less than thirty (30) days prior to the release date of the department's schedule.

Paid Time Off Usage. Paid time off (PTO) may be used for any personal reasons including, but not limited to, personal business, illness of self or dependent family member(s), medical and dental appointments, for all the purposes authorized under RCW 49.46.210 (1)(b)(c), all applicable leave laws and vacation. An employee may use his/her PTO in quarter-hour (15 minute) increments. Paid time off (PTO) shall be paid at the employee’s regular rate of pay for all hours accrued and approved as paid leave up to forty (40) hours per workweek. The combination of leave time and work time cannot exceed forty (40) hours in one week (Sunday through Saturday). Under RCW 49.46.210 (1)(b) and (c), an employee is authorized to use PTO for the following reasons: (a) An absence resulting from an employee's mental, dental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; to accommodate the employee's need for medical diagnosis, care, or treatment of a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; or an employee's need for preventive medical and/or dental care; (b) To allow the employee to provide care for a family member with a mental, dental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; care of a family member who needs medical, dental diagnosis, care, or treatment of a mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition; or care for a family member who needs preventive medical and/or dental care; Family member is defined as: A child including a biological, adopted, or xxxxxx child, stepchild, or child to whom the employee stands in loco parentis, is a legal guardian, or is a de facto parent, regardless of age or dependency status. A parent including; a biological, adoptive, de facto, or xxxxxx parent, stepparent, or legal guardian of an employee’s spouse, or registered domestic partner, or a person who stood in loco parentis when the employee was a minor child. A spouse, registered domestic partner, grandparent, grandchild and sibling. (c) When the employee's place of business has been closed by order of a public official for any health-related reason, or when an employee's child's school or place of care has been closed for such a reason; (d) An employee is authorized to use PTO for absences that qualify for leave under the domestic violence leave act, chapter 49.76 RCW. Paid Time Off Usage. 1. Pre-scheduled Usage Paid time off may be used upon prior request to and approval of management. a. Except where unforeseen circumstances prevent it, requests to use paid time off must be received by the employee’s manager or designee no less than forty-five (45) days and no more than one (1) year prior to the first (1st) day of requested paid time off usage. Requests with fewer than forty- five (45) days’ notice may be submitted and approved based on availability of staff to cover which does not result in overtime. The employee is responsible for finding such coverage. b. The manager shall respond to the employee’s request within fourteen (14) calendar days. If no response is received within this time period, the employee has the right to forward the request to NMC Administration, who shall respond within seven (7) calendar days. 2. Usage rules for employees with sick leave balances Employees with sick leave balances may use accrued sick leave to cover absences due to personal illness or for any other reason for which sick leave was formerly used. Absences due to personal illness and family illness beyond the amount equal to one full shift of eight (8) hours or more shall be charged to sick leave balances if available.

Paid Time Off Usage. The following conditions are valid reasons that Paid Time Off may be used: a. When an employee is unable to perform his/her duties because of sickness, disability, injury, or when an employee’s presence at work jeopardizes the health of others by exposing them to a contagious disease. Pregnancy, post-natal recovery, and miscarriage, shall be considered temporary disabilities. b. When the illness, disability, injury, or major surgery of an immediate family member requires the employee’s presence. The immediate family shall be considered as: spouse, children, parents, and others bearing the same relationship to the employee’s spouse. At the Employer’s discretion, the definition of immediate family may be broadened. c. When an employee pre-scheduled medical, surgical, dental or optical examinations or treatment, or when the employee must seek emergency treatment.
Paid Time Off Usage. Paid time off may be used for any reason including but not limited to employee vacations, the employee’s absence from work due to illness or injury, to care for family members, for childbirth or adoption, for educational absences, for absences from work of less than the employee’s regularly scheduled workday, for the first three (3) days off work pursuant to the Workers Compensation Act, etc.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) During the Term, Executive shall be entitled to paid time off in accordance with Company’s policy in place from time to time; provided, however, that Executive shall be eligible to accrue no less than twenty (20) days per calendar year (with such amount prorated for the balance of 2017).

  • Paid Time Off The Executive shall be entitled to take paid time off in accordance with the Company’s applicable paid time off policy for executives, as may be in effect from time to time.

  • Vacation; Paid Time Off During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation in accordance with the Company’s vacation policies, as in effect from time to time. The Executive shall receive other paid time-off in accordance with applicable law and the Company’s policies for executive officers as such policies may exist from time to time.

  • Sick Leave Usage 1. Sick leave may be used by an employee when sick, injured, or quarantined. Also sick leave may be used on the occasion of an illness in the employee's family, where a need can be shown. 2. In computing compensation payable for sick leave, the compensation paid shall be the amount the employee would earn during the sick leave period if working at their current rate of pay and work schedule without the inclusion of overtime earnings.

  • Leave Usage Full shift absences on vacation, sick leave, compensating time off, or holiday in lieu taken by employees on a scheduled twelve-hour workshift shall result in the deduction of twelve (12) hours from the employees’ accrued leave balances.

  • Vacation Usage Each department or agency head shall be responsible for scheduling the vacation periods of their employees in such a manner as to achieve the most efficient functioning of the department or agency and the County service. The granting of a vacation period less than the employee's annual entitlement is to be discouraged so that the full benefit of the vacation plan can be realized by each employee. The appointing authority shall determine when vacations will be taken.

  • Prime Time Vacation Period Subject to the provisions of this article, it is the intent of the parties that no employee will be restricted in the time of year they choose to take their vacation. The Employer will make every effort to allow employees to take their vacation during the period of April 15th to October 15th inclusive, which will be defined as the prime time vacation period.

  • Vacation Leave Maximum Employees may accumulate maximum vacation leave balances not to exceed two hundred and forty (240) hours. However, there are two (2) exceptions that allow vacation leave to accumulate above the maximum: A. If an employee’s request for vacation leave is denied by the Employer, and the employee is close to the vacation leave maximum, the Employer will grant an extension for each month that the Employer must defer the employee’s request for vacation leave. B. An employee may also accumulate vacation leave days in excess of two hundred and forty (240) hours as long as the employee uses the excess balance prior to the employee’s anniversary date. Any leave in excess of the maximum that is not deferred in advance of its accrual as described above, will be lost on the employee’s anniversary date.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Compensatory Time Off Utilization of compensatory time off shall be by mutual agreement between the department head and the employee. The smallest increment of compensatory time which may be taken off is six (6) minutes.
