Personal Leave Use. Subject to the specific approval of the Chief of Police or his/her designee, personal leave may be used in increments of not less than two (2) hours, may be used in conjunction with other forms of leave authorized or may be used in conjunction with official travel. Personal leave balances may not under any circumstances be used during a termination notice period and will not be paid upon termination.

Personal Leave Use. In the event an employee wants to use one (1) personal day to extend a scheduled school break (Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring break) the employee will be charged for two (2) personal days. Personal Leave Use. Fiscal year bargaining unit members should use vacation leave in increments of one-half day or more. Planned use of vacation leave must have the approval of the superior prior to taking the leave. Personal leave may be used without prior approval when personal emergencies prevent prior approval. In such cases, the employee is responsible for notifying the supervisor of the absence due to a personal emergency. If the employee’s personal leave includes an approved holiday, they will receive regular pay, and the time will not be charged as personal leave.
