PRESIDENT’S RELEASE a. The Board hereby agrees to release the President of the Union from teaching duties for their term of office. Notification for such release shall be made by the Union to the Board, in writing, by May 15th of each year.
b. The Board will continue to pay the President’s salary and to provide benefits as specified in the Agreement. The Union will reimburse the Board for such salary and benefits costs upon receipt of a monthly statement.
c. For purposes of pension, experience, sick leave credits and seniority, the President shall be deemed to be in the full employ of the Board.
d. The teacher returning to full teaching duties from a term or terms as President shall be assigned to the position held prior to the release or to another similar position.
e. In the event the President is unable to fulfill the presidential duties, the Board shall release another Union member to assume the duties of the President. Provisions of Article A.21.1.a through Article A.21.1.d shall also apply to the teacher replacing the President.
f. If the reasons for the President being unable to fulfill the presidential duties are related to their health, and a replacement is appointed, then the President shall be able to return from secondment to full employment with the Board for the express intention of using the sick leave provisions provided for in contract.
g. The Board agrees to release a teacher elected to the position of Unit President, (Chetwynd, Xxxxxx Creek and Area, Tumbler Ridge), from teaching duties for up to 25% time at the request of the respective Unit. All provisions of Article
21.1. a through Article A.21.1.f shall also apply. The mechanics of the release time must be on a regularly scheduled basis agreed to by the Administrative Officer of the school to which the teacher is assigned, the Superintendent of Schools, the incoming Unit President and the President of the PRSTA.
PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. 1. The Board shall release the President or Acting President of the CTA from teaching duties for up to one hundred percent (100%) of their time.
2. The CTA shall advise the Superintendent on or before May 31st the name of the President for the following year and the percentage of time to be released.
3. The Board shall continue to pay the President their salary and to provide benefits as specified in this Agreement. The CTA shall reimburse the Board for such salary and benefit costs within fifteen (15) days of receipt of a monthly statement.
4. For purposes of pension, experience, sick leave and seniority, the President shall be deemed to be in the employ of the Board. The President shall inform the Board of the number of days or partial days, if any, that they were absent from presidential duties due to illness. Such days or part days shall be deducted from the President's accumulated sick leave credits.
5. The teacher returning to teaching duties from a term or terms as President shall be assigned to the position held prior to the release, however their assignment may not be identical to their previous assignment.
PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. Upon leave being granted, the Board shall continue to pay the employee’s salary and to provide all benefits as specified in the agreement. The RTA shall reimburse the Board for one hundred per cent (100%) of such salary, benefits and statutory benefit costs upon receipt of a monthly statement. Such leave shall be counted for sick leave and seniority, and as experience for salary placement purposes.
PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. 1. The Board hereby agrees to release the President of the Local from teaching duties for a percentage of time as requested by the Local.
2. The Board will continue to pay the President’s salary and pension premiums and to provide benefits as specified in this Collective Agreement. The Local will reimburse the Board monthly for the Local’s portion of the President’s salary and benefits costs excluding pension premiums in proportion to the percentage of time requested by the Local.
3. For purposes of pension, experience, sick leave and seniority, the President shall be deemed to be in the employ of the Board in accordance with their appointment.
4. The teacher returning to full teaching duties from a term or terms as President shall be assigned to the position held prior to the release or to another position acceptable to the teacher and the Board.
PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. The President of the Highline Education Association shall 15 be granted release time for contractual work year up to a maximum of six 16 consecutive school years for any one person. 17 The District shall make salary payments, annual sick leave cash-out benefits to 18 and insurance contributions on behalf of the President as if they were not on 19 release time, provided that the Association shall reimburse the District for these 20 costs.

PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. 1. It is recognized that the President of the Association plays a vital role as a leader and official representative of the professional staff. The President is encouraged to communicate matters of concern to the administration and the Board as the need arises.
2. The President shall be provided one (1) contact period or its equivalent of release time each day for association duties (e.g., no duty period). In the event that the Association President's assignment does not contain "contact periods," the parties shall meet to determine an appropriate and feasible "equivalent." If no alternative is feasible and reasonable, this provision will not be implemented for the appropriate period. Further, provided it does not require the employment of additional staff or additional expense to the Board, the President's schedule shall not include a last period assignment and/or shall provide for a reduced class load.
3. Each year by May 15, WETA shall advise the Assistant Superintendent whether WETA wishes to arrange for its President to be released from duties for two (2) added periods each day to a combined total of one-half (1/2) time on an annual basis. Such additional released time will be arranged provided appropriate replacement staffing is available from current faculty or may readily be secured through employment of new personnel. If such additional release time is arranged, the Association shall reimburse the school district for two-sixths (2/6) of his/her annual salary and related costs, e.g., STRS, plus two-sixths (2/6) additional costs of his/her fringe benefits at COBRA rate if a replacement who will receive the benefits is hired.
PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. The Board will continue to pay the President their salary and to provide benefits as specified in the Agreement. The Association will reimburse the Board for such salary and benefits costs of the teacher hired on a part-time basis to replace the President upon receipt of a monthly statement.
PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. The Association President shall be released the equivalent of ten (10) days per year at Board expense for the performance of Association business. Scheduling of such days shall be done by the Association President and his/her immediate supervisor.
PRESIDENT’S RELEASE. 1. A teacher elected to the position of President of the Local or designate shall be granted up to a 1.0 FTE leave-of-absence from teaching duties for a one (1) year period at the request of the Local. Additional costs associated with the leave-of absence and incurred by the District shall be reimbursed to the District by the Union.
2. Requests for such leave shall be in writing and received by the Superintendent of Schools as early in May as possible preceding the school year for which the leave is requested.
3. The Board shall continue to pay the President's or designate's salary and to provide benefits as specified in this Agreement.
4. The Union shall reimburse the Board for the salary, benefits, and pension costs involved for such leave upon receipt of a monthly statement.
5. For purposes of pension, sick leave and seniority, the President, if a contract teacher, shall be deemed to be in the full employ of the Board.
6. The Board shall assign the President returning to teacher duties after a term as President to the same position that she held prior to taking the leave. Should the position cease to exist, then to a comparable position which is acceptable to the teacher and the Board.
