PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE. 164. Each facility whose members are represented by this Agreement shall establish a Professional Performance Committee. There shall be one Professional Performance Committee for each organizational units within the Department.

PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE. 9.01 a) A Professional Performance Committee shall be established at each facility, upon the request of the Union, comprised of three (3) Scientists selected by a majority vote of all Scientists at the facility, the Laboratory Manager and two (2) other representatives of the Employer designated by management.
PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE. A Professional Performance Committee (PPC) shall be established at the County. The Committee shall determine its appropriate composition. The Committee will not be involved in the evaluation of the performance of any individual, the processing of grievances, or meeting and conferring within the meaning of the Employee Relations Ordinance of the County. The Professional Performance Committee shall act as an advisory body making recommendations to the department head. Such recommendations will be advisory, will be considered in good faith and will be acted upon if deemed in the department’s best interest and feasible by the County. Such recommendations shall be presented for review and discussion with appropriate County officials at a mutually agreeable time and place. Any written recommendation from the committee chair to a department head will be responded to by the department head or her or his designee in a timely manner but no later than thirty (30) days from the date on which the department head received the recommendation. The County recognizes the value that input from the Registered Nurses may have in improving the existing staffing system and, to that end, supports the concept of meeting jointly with the Nurses to discuss staffing systems/concerns as needed. The Committee will coordinate their efforts with existing quality initiatives in the departments to ensure that efforts are not duplicated.
PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE. Section 1. A Professional Performance Committee shall be established, one-half (½) of whose members shall be Registered Nurses of Unit #47 and one- half (½) of whose members shall be Nursing Administration and Human Resources. The total Committee shall consist of eight (8) members, and its size may thereafter be increased or decreased by mutual agreement. The Committee shall study, evaluate and review issues related to professional nursing practice, acting in an advisory capacity and making recommendations on nursing care, issues pertaining to health and safety, nursing education, equipment and products, policies and procedures, and possible methods for reducing nursing costs. Section 2. Both parties agree that representatives of the Professional Performance Committee will be representatives of the different shifts and units in the Hospital if possible. Section 3. The Committee shall meet on a monthly basis, or more frequently as needed, and chaired by a chairperson elected by the Committee. Section 4. Recommendations developed by the Professional Committee shall be made in writing to the Operational Department Head of the area affected. The Operational Department Head shall respond in writing to those recommendations within two (2) weeks. Section 5. Should a recommendation made by the Committee not to be accepted by the Operational Department Head, a majority vote of members of the Committee shall cause the issue to be presented to the Administrative Committee consisting of the Vice Presidents of Nursing and Human Resources, and a Registered Nurse in an administrative capacity. A written response shall be made by the Administrative Committee to the Professional Performance Committee within two (2) weeks after the recommendation has been presented. Section 6. The Unit members of this Committee shall be paid their base rate for attending such meetings. Section 7. The Professional Performance Committee may invite appropriate persons to a meeting on an informational needs basis.
PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE a) a) The Santa Xxxxx County Hospitals Professional Performance Committee (“PPC”) shall be composed of nurses currently employed by the hospital. The Committee shall have a representative from each nursing unit, one (1) from each satellite clinic, and one (1) Institution Nurse elected by the nurses from that unit and clinic. All appointed and new positions will be filled by election by October 31 of each year.
PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE. A. There shall be established within the bargaining unit a Professional Performance Committee. The Committee shall review and evaluate working conditions in the bargaining unit, and make recommendations to improve patient care and nursing practice, and the County agrees to give the recommendations of the Committee due consideration. The County agrees to reply to written recommendations as soon as possible but no later than sixty (60) days from the date of receipt. The objectives of the Professional Performance Committee shall be: a) To consider constructively the professional practice of Nurses; b) To work constructively for the improvement of patient care and nursing practice; c) To recommend to the County ways to improve patient care; d) To make recommendations to the County of where the PPC believes a critical nurse staffing shortage exists; e) To consider constructively the improvement of safety and health conditions which may be hazardous; f) To discuss nurse staffing or nursing practice complaints with a review of such complaints and their validity. If there are more than five complaints per month in a given unit, the unit manager can be requested and will attend the next scheduled PPC meeting to discuss the issues on that unit. B. There shall be five (5) Union representatives. They shall be permitted to take not more than four (4) hours per representative per week from County duties without loss of compensation for purposes of attending to the business of the Union and Professional Performance Committee. Said representatives shall not interrupt departmental business in the discharge of such responsibilities.

PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE a) The Valley Medical Center Professional Performance Committee shall be composed of nurses currently employed by the hospital. The Committee shall have a representative from each nursing unit, one (1) from each satellite clinic, and one (1) Institution Nurse elected by the nurses from that unit and clinic. All appointed and new positions will be filled by election by October 31 of each year. b) Nurses employed by the County recognize their obligation to perform the highest level of nursing care for the patients. The Professional Performance Committee shall act as an advisory body to Nursing Service and Administration. The hospital will make a good faith effort to implement recommendations agreed to by the P.P.C. and the Director of Nursing. c) The Committee shall not involve itself in grievances as defined and set forth in this Agreement. The purpose and function shall be as set forth in its bylaws and shall include the following: 1. Recommend nursing policies and procedures to the Nursing Administrator. 2. Review nursing policies and procedures prior to implementation, when possible, except in emergencies. 3. Maintain representative on Valley Medical Center Nursing Committees as designated by management. d) The Nursing Administrator or representative will meet with the P.P.C. at their regularly scheduled meeting when requested. The Nursing Administrator will respond in writing to all written recommendations within thirty (30) days unless extended by mutual agreement. e) Attendance at P.P.C. will be voluntary by the elected representative or an alternate. Committee members will be granted release time to attend the meetings. Those members who attend during other than duty time will be granted up to four
PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE. A Professional Performance Committee (PPC) shall be established at the Hospital. The Hospital recognizes the responsibility of the Professional Performance Committee to recommend measures objectively to improve patient care and will duly consider such recommendations and will so advise the Committee of action taken. The Professional Performance Committee shall be composed of eight (8) bargaining unit members. The Professional Performance Committee shall schedule one (1) regular meeting per month and may schedule additional meetings in a given month. PPC members shall be entitled to a cumulative maximum of sixty-four (64) hours per month for the entire PPC at the straight-time rate for the purpose of attending such meetings and carrying out the work of the PPCs. The cumulative maximum per month shall be allocated as up to a maximum of 16 hours per month for any one member of the PPC and up a maximum of 8 hours per month for each other member of the PPC, for a combined total of all PPC members of no more than sixty-four (64) hours per month. The PPC will notify Administration within two (2) business days of the PPC meeting which Nurses are to be paid and the number of hours, not to exceed the monthly maximum per member. Except as otherwise required by law, such payments shall not constitute time worked for any purpose under this Agreement. Such meetings shall be scheduled so as not to conflict with the routine. The Professional Performance Committee shall prepare an agenda and keep minutes of all meetings, a copy of which shall be provided to each Nursing Department head. Once per quarter, the Chief Nurse Executive shall meet with the Professional Performance Committee at one of its regularly scheduled meetings. In the event the Professional Performance Committee directs suggestions or recommendations to the Hospital, the Hospital will direct a written response to the Committee within thirty (30) days. The Professional Performance Committee may request meetings with the head of any department for the purpose of obtaining information on direct nursing functions. Such meetings shall be arranged through the Chief Nurse Executive, who may also attend. Such parties agree to meet with the Committee within a reasonable time convenient to all parties. There shall be one Professional Performance Committee for each organizational units within the Department. 235. This committee shall prepare an agenda and keep minutes of the proceedings. A copy of all such minutes will be provided to the head of the department. 236. This committee shall meet no more than two (2) hours per month. Members will receive regular pay compensation for meeting during regular work hours.
