Prohibition of Discrimination and Harassment. In accordance with applicable laws, it is the policy of the University not to tolerate unlawful discrimination or harassment in any form and to provide those who feel that they are victims of discrimination with mechanisms for seeking redress. Columbia University prohibits any form of discrimination and harassment against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, status as a victim of domestic violence, citizenship or immigration status, creed, genetic predisposition or carrier status, unemployment status, partnership status, military status, or any other applicable legally protected status. This principle of equal employment opportunity applies to all policies and procedures relating to recruitment and hiring, compensation, benefits, termination and all other terms and conditions of employment. Neither the University nor the Union shall unlawfully discriminate against or in favor of any employee because of membership in the Union and/or activities on behalf of the Union as protected by the National Labor Relations Act.

All individuals have the right to be treated with respect and dignity. Each individual has the right to work in an atmosphere which promotes respectful interactions and is free from discrimination, harassment and aggression.
11.01 The Employer and the Union agree that there will be no discrimination, interference, intimidation, restriction or coercion exercised or practised by any of their representatives with respect to any employee because of her membership or non-membership in the Union or activity or lack of activity on behalf of the Union or by reason of exercising her rights under the Collective Agreement.
11.02 There shall be no discrimination on the part of the Employer, the Union or any employees covered by this Agreement by reason of race, creed, colour, ethnic origin, marital status, family status, sex, citizenship, ancestry, sexual orientation, disability, place of origin, residence, age, political or religious affiliation or other factors not pertinent to performance with respect to employment, placement, promotion, salary determination or other terms of employment. The employee rights set out above shall be interpreted within the context of the Ontario Human Rights Code.
11.03 The Union and the Employer agree to abide by the Ontario Human Rights Code.

ACC has in place policies and procedures to receive, investigate, and resolve student and employee complaints alleging civil rights violations, including claims under Title VI and Title IX. The ISD and ACC shall each comply with its own policies and any applicable state and federal law that prohibit discrimination and harassment on the basis of a student or employee’s disability, race, color, national origin, religion, or sex. Each party shall adhere to its obligations under relevant policy and law without regard to the other party’s obligations. The ISD agrees to report to the College’s District Title IX/ADA/Title VI Coordinator, within 2 business days, any allegation of discrimination or harassment involving a College employee or dual credit student, regardless of where the alleged conduct occurred. The College has designated the following individual as its District Title IX/ADA/Title VI Coordinator:
