Protective Clothing and Footwear. The Employer agrees to the following provisions regarding protective clothing and footwear, subject to the Employer being provided with receipts:
(a) (1) $90 per year towards the cost of coveralls or shop coats to permanent employees of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure in the following working titles: Automotive Electrician Maintenance Supervisor I Automotive Service Worker Maintenance Tradesworker I-III Equipment Operators I-IV Maintenance Worker I-III Heavy Duty Mechanic I-III Mechanic Labourer I-II Sign Technician I-III Machinist I-II Storekeeper I-II Maintenance Electrician I-II Stores Supervisor Maintenance Painter Utility Worker Maintenance Plumber I-II Welder I-II
Protective Clothing and Footwear. * a) Subject to the eligibility requirements set out in c) below, employees who are required by the Employer to wear protective footwear shall receive an annual allowance towards the purchase of such footwear. Employees entitled to receive a footwear allowance shall receive an annual allowance in the amount of $185 for employees required by the Employer to wear “green patch” footwear and $130 for employees required to wear safety footwear of a lower “patch” level.
Protective Clothing and Footwear a) Employees who are required by the Employer to wear protective footwear shall receive an annual allowance towards the purchase of such footwear. Employees entitled to receive a footwear allowance shall receive an annual allowance in the amount of $125 for employees required by the Employer to wear “green patch” footwear and $90 for employees required to wear safety footwear of a lower “patch” level.
b) Notwithstanding the above, “Tree Climbers” will not receive a footwear allowance however, the appropriate protective footwear will be supplied by the employer. For purposes of clarification, this serves to confirm that “green patch” footwear refers to certified grade 1 footwear that withstands 125 joules and has a puncture resistant steel plate sole as well as footwear with a sole resistant to electric shock commonly referred to as footwear with an omega sign. Safety footwear of a lower “patch” level refers to all other safety footwear with a lower grade toe cap. It is recognized that there are circumstances (e.g., work related accidents, nature of work) where consideration should be given for additional replacement other than mentioned above. Such requests must be made in writing to the Employer.
Protective Clothing and Footwear. 33.01 The Company shall supply each employee except those working in the Drug Packaging Department with either three (3) shirts and three (3) pairs of pants, or three (3) shop coats to wear during working hours. Each such employee shall choose the type of clothing he or she wishes to wear during working hours. All such clothing shall be optional and shall be provided to each employee who chooses to wear same, upon completion of his or her probationary period. The Company shall provide a shop coat for new employees to wear during their probationary period. The Company shall replace these items of clothing on an ongoing basis as the need arises and shall be responsible for the supplying, laundering and repairing of same.
33.02 The Company shall supply each employee working in the Drug Packaging Department with three (3) lab coats to wear during working hours. These lab coats shall be provided to the employee upon completion of his or her probationary period. The Company shall provide a lab coat for new employees to wear during their probationary period. The Company shall replace these lab coats on an ongoing basis as the need arises and shall be responsible for the supplying, laundering and repairing of same. The wearing of lab coats is mandatory for such employees.
33.03 In addition to providing suitable protective outerwear for the two (2) employees who are required to work outside during winter months, the Company will also make available parkas for other employees who may be required to work outside during those months. The Company shall replace these parkas on an ongoing basis as the need arises and shall be responsible for the supplying, laundering and repairing of same.
33.04 Employees are expected to take reasonable care of all clothing received from the Company and shall return all such clothing to the Company at the same time as they cease to be employed by the Company. The cost of any such clothing that is not returned to the Company at that time shall be deducted from any wages due to the employee at the time of his or her termination excluding safety footwear provided that the employee has completed their probationary period.
Protective Clothing and Footwear. (a) The Employer shall continue its present policy regarding the issuance of protective clothing.
(b) Employees who are required by the Employer to wear protective footwear shall be eligible for replacement footwear on an as-required exchange basis.
(c) To be eligible:
(i) Salaried Employees - must be on the payroll of the Employer on January 1 of every year and must have been employed at least six continuous months with the Employer in the previous year.
(ii) Wage Employees - must be on the payroll of the Employer on January 1 of every year, and must have worked at least 122 days in any consecutive six month period in the previous year.
Protective Clothing and Footwear. 16.1 Upon commencement of employment on the site or as soon as practicable thereafter, each new weekly hired employee will be issued with four sets of clothing consisting of four shirts (collar/sleeves) and trousers or four pairs of overalls and one pair of approved safety footwear. Existing employees transferred from other sites continue with replacements made on a fair wear and tear basis provided that the provision of protective clothing and footwear was within the last six months.
16.2 Replacement shall be on a fair wear and tear basis provided the worn out item is returned when seeking replacement. The employee will be responsible for purchasing replacements for lost items.
16.3 A casual employee whose employment is not expected to exceed four (4) weeks shall be issued with a pair of safety boots on commencement of employment.
16.4 Employees who have had at least two weeks continuous service on site between the months of May and September inclusive will be issued by the Company with a one off winter jacket as soon as it is practical to do so, provided the employee has not received a jacket from the Company on site or elsewhere of an equivalent standard within the last six months.

All Employees will be entitled to three (3) sets of clothing per year, distributed as follows: Three (3) sets of clothes consisting of 3 long trousers and 3 shirts (or overalls), plus one (1) pair of low-cut boots on expiry of 6-week qualifying period. Winter employees who have had at least four (4) weeks continuous service between the months of April and September shall be issued by the Employer with a one (1) off winter or waterproof PIC jacket as soon as it is practical to do so provided the Employee has not received a jacket from the Employer within the last six (6) months. The Company will supply all required PPE including but not limited to: • Leather aprons (where required for specific tasks) • Australian standard prescription safety glasses where required The above sequence will continue every anniversary period thereafter; however, Employees PPE will also be replaced on a fair wear and tear basis. Where there is dispute on what constitutes fair wear and tear" between the Employee and Supervision, the Employee will be entitled to raise the matter with the Company's HR department for dispute determination. Employees who terminate and recommence employment within the anniversary period will not be entitled to any additional clothing. Protective clothing so issued shall be worn at all times during employment with Pacific Industrial Company and shall not be willfully damaged, abused or defaced.

The uniforms shall be provided to the employee upon start date. The Company shall replace these uniforms on an ongoing basis as the need arises and shall be responsible for the supplying, laundering and repairing of same. Wearing the uniform is mandatory for such employees.

Protective Clothing and Footwear. 37.1. Requirement to wear uniform Members of staff will be issued with a Company uniform. This is in keeping with the Company's professional image and uniforms will be required to be worn at all times when on the Company's business and maintained in good and smart order. Failure to wear protective clothing including protective footwear and uniform in line with the Workplace Guidelines will be considered as a disciplinary matter and any such failure may result in disciplinary action.
