Settling of Grievance. An xxxxxxx effort shall be made to settle a grievance fairly and promptly in the following manner: Step 1 The aggrieved employee shall submit the grievance to his xxxxxxx. If the employee's xxxxxxx is absent he may submit his grievance to another xxxxxxx, grievance chairperson or a member of the Executive Committee. At each step of the grievance procedure the grievor shall have the right to be present. Step 2 If the xxxxxxx, the grievance chairperson or an Executive Committee member consider the grievance to be justified, he will seek to settle the dispute with the employee's supervisor. Step 3 Failing satisfactory settlement within three (3) working days after the dispute was submitted under Step 2, the xxxxxxx will submit to the supervisor a written statement of the particulars of the grievance and the redress sought. The supervisor shall render his decision within three (3) working days after receipt of such notice. Step 4 Failing settlement being reached in Step 3, the xxxxxxx will submit the written grievance to the Secretary-Treasurer who shall render his decision within three (3) working days after receipt of such notice. Step 5 Failing satisfactory settlement within three (3) working days after the grievance was submitted under Step 4, the Grievance Committee of the Union, consisting of not more than three (3) members of the Union, may submit the grievance to a Grievance Committee consisting of not more than three (3) representatives of the Board. Step 6 Failing satisfactory settlement within seven (7) working days after the grievance was submitted under Step 5, the Union may submit the grievance to a Board of Arbitration under the provisions of Article 13 of this Agreement.

Settling of Grievance. It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that complaints of employees shall be adjusted as quickly as possible, and it is understood that an employee has no grievance until he has first given his immediate supervisor the opportunity of adjusting his complaint. Such complaint shall be discussed with his immediate supervisor within five (5) working days the circumstance giving rise to it have occurred or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee. The Supervisor will have up to five (5) working days after the meeting in which to provide a response. Failing settlement of the complain as per above, an employee or one designated member of a group of employees having a grievance may within five (5) days of the working days. Step If the grievance is not adjusted by the immediate supervisor, the employee with a xxxxxxx may refer the written grievance to the Employer’s Administrator within five (5) working days following the receipt of the reply of the immediate supervisor. The employee or the Union Committee with his or her consent, or the Administrator may request a meeting which shall be held five (5) working days after such request. The griever, two Union representatives and two representatives of the Employer be the only persons entitled to attend this meeting. The Administrator shall give his decision in writing to the employee and to the Union not later than five (5) working days following the presentation to him of the grievance. If the written decision of the Administrator is not satisfactory to the employee or to the Union Committee, the employee or the Union Committee, with his or her consent may, within five (5) working days thereafter, appeal in writing to the of the Board of Management of Xxxxx for the Aged, requesting a meeting with him, and such meeting shall be held within ten (1O) days after such written request from the employee or the Committee. The shall the employee of the decision of the Employer within ten (1O) days after such meeting. Should any grievance fail to be satisfactorily settled under the foregoing procedure, the Union may within ten (10) working days following receipt of the reply the Board of Management or within ten (1O) days of the expiration of the time for the writing of its desire to submit the difference or allegation to arbitration accompanied by the written consent of the employee.
