Settling of Grievance. An xxxxxxx effort shall be made to settle a grievance fairly and promptly in the following manner:
Step 1 The aggrieved employee shall submit the grievance to his xxxxxxx. If the employee's xxxxxxx is absent he may submit his grievance to another xxxxxxx, grievance chairperson or a member of the Executive Committee. At each step of the grievance procedure the grievor shall have the right to be present.
Step 2 If the xxxxxxx, the grievance chairperson or an Executive Committee member consider the grievance to be justified, he will seek to settle the dispute with the employee's supervisor.
Step 3 Failing satisfactory settlement within three (3) working days after the dispute was submitted under Step 2, the xxxxxxx will submit to the supervisor a written statement of the particulars of the grievance and the redress sought. The supervisor shall render his decision within three (3) working days after receipt of such notice.
Step 4 Failing settlement being reached in Step 3, the xxxxxxx will submit the written grievance to the Secretary-Treasurer who shall render his decision within three (3) working days after receipt of such notice.
Step 5 Failing satisfactory settlement within three (3) working days after the grievance was submitted under Step 4, the Grievance Committee of the Union, consisting of not more than three (3) members of the Union, may submit the grievance to a Grievance Committee consisting of not more than three (3) representatives of the Board.
Step 6 Failing satisfactory settlement within seven (7) working days after the grievance was submitted under Step 5, the Union may submit the grievance to a Board of Arbitration under the provisions of Article 13 of this Agreement.
Settling of Grievance. It is the mutual desire of the parties that all grievances be resolved as quickly as possible. It is understood that any employee may present an oral complaint at any time to his/her supervisor without resorting to the grievance procedure below. An employee shall have the right to take a xxxxxxx. Except where otherwise provided, it is understood that an employee has no grievance unless and until the matter is first discussed with the employee’s supervisor. If upon the completion of said discussion the matter is not resolved, it may be grieved and disposed of in the following manner:
Step 1: An employee or a group of employees having a grievance, along with their xxxxxxx, shall first submit the grievance in writing to their immediate Supervisor within ten (10) working days from the employee or employees being aware of the incident giving rise to grievance. The grievance shall specify the collective agreement article(s) of which a violation is alleged and shall generally describe the scope of the alleged violation and indicate the relief sought. The Supervisor shall reply to the grievance, in writing, within five (5) working days after receiving the grievance.
Step 2: If the Supervisor’s reply to the grievance is not satisfactory, the written grievance may then be submitted to the C.A.O./Treasurer and the Mayor within five (5) working days from the Supervisor’s reply being received. A meeting shall be held between the Parties as soon as reasonably possible. The C.A.O./Treasurer or their designate shall reply to the grievance in writing within five (5) working days of its presentation to the C.A.O./Treasurer or their designate. Step 3: Failing a satisfactory settlement at Step 2, the grievance may be presented for arbitration in accordance with Article 12 of this Collective Agreement. Either Party may notify the other of its desire to proceed to Grievance Mediation prior to Arbitration. Attendance at Grievance Mediation and choice of Mediator shall only be through mutual agreement. Within fifteen (15) days of a failed Mediation attempt, the Union shall provide notice of its desire to proceed to Arbitration. The Parties shall jointly share the expense of Mediation.

Settling of Grievance. It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that complaints of employees shall be adjusted as quickly as possible. No employee shall file a grievance until she has first given her immediate supervisor the opportunity of adjusting her complaint. The complaint must be addressed with the Supervisor within five (5) working days of the issue giving rise to the complaint. If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved within five (5) working days after the employee has addressed their complaint with the immediate supervisor, the complaint may be taken up as a grievance in the following manner:
Step 1 Failing satisfactory settlement within five (5) working days after the concern was submitted under the Complaint step, the employee will submit to the Department Head a written statement of the particulars of the grievance and the redress sought. The Department Head shall render his/her decision within five (5) working days after receipt of such notice.
Step 2 Failing settlement being reached in Step 1, the Grievance Committee will submit the written grievance to the Chief Administrative Officer, who shall render his/her decision within five (5) working days after receipt of such notice.
Step 3 Failing a satisfactory settlement being reached in Step 2, the Union may refer the dispute to arbitration.

Step 3 Failing satisfactory settlement within ten (10) working days after the dispute was submitted under Step 2, the employee(s) concerned, together with the Union, will submit to the department head, a written statement of particulars of the grievance and the redress sought. The department head shall render his decision within ten (10) working days after receipt of such notice.
Step 4 Failing settlement being reached in Step 3, the employee(s) concerned, together with the Union, shall submit the grievance to the Senior Administrator within ten (10) working days after receipt of such notice. The Senior Administrator or designate shall meet with the Union and render a decision within ten (10) working days.
Step 5 Failing a satisfactory settlement being reached in Step 4, the Union may refer the dispute to arbitration within ten (10) working days from the decision of the Senior Administrator.
