Short Term Personal Leave. All full-time and part-time employees shall be granted three (3) days of personal leave per year without pay upon request; providing such leave does not jeopardize Hospital service.
Short Term Personal Leave. Upon submitting a written request in advance to the Superintendent, any Teacher shall be granted a leave for the number of contractual days specified in the request. No Teacher shall take more than ten (10) days of short-term personal leave per year. No such leave shall be granted for the purpose of extending any holiday or vacation period without the Superintendent’s written approval.
Short Term Personal Leave a. Benefited Nurses with one (1) or more years of continuous service are eligible for five (5) work days per calendar year prorated, without explanation and without pay; the scheduling of such days shall be subject to advance approval by the Manager/Director. The Manager/Director shall make reasonable efforts to accommodate the Nurse’s request, (which must be submitted no less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to the date requested) such as calling available Nurses as time permits, but such efforts will not require the Hospital reassign other Nurses, incur any additional cost, use relief coverage which could not be available at the start of the shift, etc. However, where a Nurse is faced with a serious unforeseen emergency (such as an accident, injury, or sudden illness of a child, that requires the personal presence of the Nurse), the circumstances shall be explained to the Manager/Director and the advance approval and scheduling requirement set forth in this paragraph shall be waived. If the Nurse’s Manager/Director does not waive the advance approval and scheduling requirements when the Nurse believes that a serious unforeseen emergency exists, the dispute shall be immediately referred by the Nurse to the immediate supervisor of the Manager, Director, or shift Administrator, as applicable, for discussion and prompt resolution. This provision is intended to provide time off for serious unforeseen emergencies when needed.
b. If flooding, earthquake or other natural disaster makes it infeasible for a Nurse to come to the Hospital, the Nurse will have the option of using an Emergency Leave of Absence or Paid Time Off (PTO). If an Emergency Leave of Absence is used, the day(s) will not be counted against the Leave of Absence days set forth above.
Short Term Personal Leave. Upon submitting a written request in advance to the Superintendent, any teacher may be granted an Uncompensated Leave of less than one (1) trimester for the number of contractual days specified in the request. Reasons for the Uncompensated Leave shall be stated in the application to the Superintendent.

Short Term Personal Leave. 12.1.1 All short-term personal leave days shall be granted upon notification to the Superintendent or designate. Notice is provided by entering the absence in the leave management system and is processed by the Human Resources Department.
12.1.2 Leave with pay for up to two (2) days per school year, for personal reasons. These days shall be granted with no deduction to the teacher’s salary. Unused days referred to in this Clause shall accumulate to a maximum of five (5) days.
12.1.3 Leave with pay for up to one (1) day per school year, for personal reasons. An amount equal to the salary paid to the substitute teacher hired as a replacement as defined in Clause 5.1.1 shall be deducted from the teacher’s salary.
12.1.4 Leave with pay for up to one (1) day per school year, for personal reasons. An amount equal to half the cost of a substitute teacher as defined in Clause 5.1.1 shall be deducted from the teacher’s salary.
12.1.5 Leave with pay for up to one (1) day per school year, for personal reasons. An amount equal to the cost of a substitute teacher as defined in Clause 5.1.1 shall be deducted from the teacher’s salary.
12.1.6 Personal leave days under Articles 12.1.2 - 12.1.5 may be taken in any order.
12.1.7 No more than two (2) Personal Days shall be taken from May 1 to June 30. Exceptions to this practice may be granted by the Superintendent or Designate upon written application to the Director of Human Resources.
12.1.8 Requests for leaves under this Clause shall not be used to extend Summer, Christmas or Easter/Spring breaks. Leaves that coincide with the aforementioned breaks, but are not for the purpose of extending the breaks, may be granted by the Superintendent upon written application to the Director of Human Resources.
Short Term Personal Leave. Subject to a minimum notice of three (3) instructional days being given to the Member’s Principal and with the approval of the Manager of Human Resources - Elementary, a Member may be granted a leave of absence for reasonable personal reasons.
i) A leave of absence for up to a maximum of two (2) instructional days in any one (1) school year.
ii) The Board agrees to consider, for extenuating circumstances, extensions to the Personal Leave Days as defined under (i) above, to a maximum of five (5) days in each school year for personal reasons.
