Short-Term Professional Leave. A. Any full-time teacher may be granted three weeks of Short-Term Professional Leave with compensation, during any school year when school is not in session, with such leave cumulative for not more than two years, in accordance with Florida Statutes and State Board Rules, provided that one is under contract during this period and, further provided, that such leave is approved, in writing, by the principal of the school for personnel under his/her supervision and by the Superintendent or his/her designee, and such approval shall not be arbitrarily withheld. School is construed to be in session starting with the first day of the 180-day school term for pupils in the fall and ending with the last day the pupils are required to be in school in the spring.

Short-Term Professional Leave. (This program is suspended for the duration 42 of this contract.) 44 Upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, the District may 45 approve short-term professional leave. Such leave may be granted for study, 46 cooperative research with other institutions and/or business, and/or other 1 reasons which would be beneficial to the District. The following guidelines 2 must be observed:
Short-Term Professional Leave. An employee may be granted leave with pay for attendance at Association functions, meetings and conferences, or visitations of a professional nature upon prior approval of the Superintendent of Schools. This provision shall exclude leave for professional meetings relative to collective bargaining. Subject to the availability of funds, the employee shall be reimbursed for actual cost of registration, transportation by common carrier, and housing at the cost of a double room rate unless a single room is required, providing invoices are submitted. Mileage will be paid at the rate currently authorized by the Internal Revenue Service when a personal automobile is used. Thirty dollars ($30.00) per diem will be reimbursed for meals. Receipts for each meal shall be submitted to the Treasurer before reimbursement will be made. A summary of all presentations and any materials distributed at the conference shall be written on the form provided (Appendix B) and shall be submitted along with the request for reimbursement.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part- time employees who are elected to or appointed to the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses or the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario or the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario subject to the following limitations:

  • Short Term Leave Members who are LTD trustees and Union stewards or designates may apply in writing to the Employer for short term leaves of absence for; attendance at union conventions, union courses, and union committees. The employee will give reasonable notice, which will be at least seven (7) days. The Employer will make every reasonable effort to accommodate such leave, and shall grant it subject to the ability to maintain the operational needs of the department. With the exception of members of the Union's executive, the employer is not required to grant more than twenty (20) days LOA per calendar year under this provision.

  • Professional Leaves 1. Professional Leaves are to be used by an employee to gain knowledge for the position contracted through Bath Local Schools. The employee must request Professional Leave through the employee kiosk. Upon approval, the employee may be permitted to attend the Professional Meeting and will be paid at the regular rate.

  • Short Term Leaves Short Term Leaves are designed to allow Teachers who have to apply for short term personal leaves of absence not otherwise covered by this Collective Agreement.

  • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.
