Supervisor Responsibilities. OCSO agrees to develop and implement an ECW policy that requires supervisors to: (a) be trained in usage of the ECW, and supervision of others who use the ECW; (b) respond to the scene of every ECW discharge (intentional or unintentional) involving a deputy/suspect confrontation or when a deputy or third party is contacted by the ECW, absent exigent circumstances, such as dangerous conditions at the scene of the ECW discharge; (c) evaluate all ECW deployments by a deputy, to include review of: (1) interviews of the deputy, the subject, and other witnesses; (2) all relevant use-of-force reports; (3) photographs of all relevant evidence, including, when possible, impact points of the ECW probes before and after removal from the subject; and, (4) a sample of the AFID confetti from the ECW cartridge. (d) complete a written report of findings following each assessment of ECW deployment; (e) ensure that the deputy places the spent ECW cartridge and probes into evidence control; (f) secure and review any in-car video if so equipped; (g) instruct deputies to produce the ECW to PSS or Material Control/Supply in order for PSS or Material Control/Supply to download the ECW deployment data to assess the time of the deployment, the number of deployments, and the duration of each deployment; and, (h) ensure that if upon the supervisor’s review a violation of law or policy is suspected, the supervisor’s use-of-force report should be immediately forwarded to PSS for investigation.

Ensure organization staff and others understand the role of AmeriCorps in your organization. Allow the member to attended required Homes for All trainings, meetings, and projects that total up to 20% of the program’s total service hours. Conduct weekly check-ins with members. Submit two performance evaluations. If a site does not complete evaluation after three requests from program staff, program staff will conduct the performance evaluation with the member. Provide constructive feedback regularly. Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding the member. The partner site must obtain the prior written consent of the member before using their name, photograph, and other identifying information or publicity or other purposes. Obtain written approval from Homes for All to supplement the living allowance or provide additional benefits to the member. Reimburse the member for mileage if member’s personal vehicle is mandatory for the service position. Reimburse the member for other expenses connected with their service in a manner consistent with the partner site’s policies for its employees. Immediately inform Homes for All program staff of any conduct by the member that undermines their effectiveness or interferes with their ability to serve. Examples include – arrest, excessive or unexcused absences/tardiness, hospitalizations, poor service performance, or being under the influence of alcohol/illegal drugs. Immediately notify Homes for All program staff of a member’s resignation. Assign member only duties within the Homes for All approved position description as stated in the partner site application. Member’s primary activities must consist of direct service to the community. Members may be asked to complete administrative tasks associated with the direct service they are providing, but they may not be asked to perform administrative tasks for others. Supervisor Responsibilities. Supervisors and department heads are responsible for assessing situations, making decisions on the appropriate response, and responding to reports of or knowledge of violent activities that have occurred in the workplace or that involve an employee of the Employer. 1. When any actual, potential, or suspected incident of violence is brought to the attention of a supervisor or the department head, the department head or designee shall evaluate the severity of the situation immediately and have the individual reporting the incident fill out a Workplace Violence Incident Report Form (Form 12.26). 2. If it is concluded that an actual act of violence has occurred or if there is a likelihood that violence could result, the department head or designee shall: a. Discuss the situation with the employee(s) and attempt to find out what caused the situation. b. Determine what action is to be taken to prevent the situation from occurring again. Such actions may include but not be limited to: i. Assigning a different employee to the area or job. ii. Talking with the disgruntled client or employee(s). iii. Discussing the incident and offering suggestions for appropriate actions. iv. Referring the affected employee(s) to professional help or counseling. v. Disciplining the employee(s), up to and including termination of employment.
