Teacher Observation Category. The remaining 50% of the composite effectiveness score is based on Teacher Observation, as required by Education Law §3012-d. Based on its inclusion of the SED-approved list of rubrics, Xxxxxxxxx’x Framework for Teaching rubric will be used to evaluate classroom teachers. Observations by the building principal or other trained administrator (Lead Evaluator) will determine 90% of the total Teacher Observation score. Multiple observations by Lead Evaluators will be averaged to determine this 90% of the teacher observation score. The remaining 10% will be based on one or more (averaged) observations by Independent Observers, unless NYS grants a waiver to this requirement. In order to support continuous professional growth, classroom observation will consist of a combination of at least two (2) classroom observations for tenured teachers and at least two (2) for probationary teachers of at least fifteen (15) minutes in length. Observers may conduct more observations, if necessary. One of these observations will be announced in advance by the principal or other trained administrator (lead evaluator) and will include a pre-observation conference between the lead evaluator and teacher and a post-observation conference between the lead evaluator and teacher. In the preconference, the teacher may request the lead evaluator to attend the entire lesson. At least one of the other observations will be unannounced. Observations may include video recording or photographs. Teachers may invite observers into a class; teachers may submit videotaped lessons for one of the required observations; and, teachers may request a longer observation if desired, not to exceed one-half hour in length. Music teaching observations will take place during classroom instruction, not during public performances. Teacher Observation Category. The selection of the teacher practice rubric and multiple measures of teacher effectiveness may be recommended by the joint labor management APPR committee and will be subject to negotiations and agreement by the District and the Association. For the 2016-2017 school year, the NYSUT Teacher Evaluation and Development ("XXX") rubric 2014 Edition has been agreed to from the list of state approved rubrics. The XXX rubric, forms for the evaluation process, including the XXX workbook, and the distribution of points among the XXX rubric standards are included in Appendix C. The Teacher Observation Category will be governed by the following:  The teacher and evaluator will confer in preparation for the evaluation measures. The conference will include identification of the standards and elements which will be evaluated, the expectations of both parties, and the provision of any relevant documentation.  Evidence is collected during scheduled classroom observations and post observation conferences.  Teachers will be observed pursuant to Article XXIII of the collective bargaining agreement, as modified by this Memorandum of Agreement. Teachers will receive one announced observation which will constitute 80% of the teacher effectiveness measure and one unannounced observation which will constitute 20% of the teacher effectiveness measure. The announced observation will be completed by the principal or trained administrator with the same “BEDS” code. The unannounced observation will be done by an impartial independent evaluator with a different “BEDS” code, unless the District receives a waiver from the state, or designee from within the same building as the teacher. “Informal observations” (walk throughs) pursuant to Article XXIII (A) (1) may not be used for purposes of the APPR. Teacher observations may not be captured by or for the evaluator using either video or audio devices. The summative evaluation includes the teacher's annual rating of effectiveness and the rationale supporting the rating. Both areas of strength and areas in need of improvement should be identified and specific recommendations made to improve effectiveness. The summative evaluation will include all of the evidence of effective teaching practice and the measures of student achievement.   • Formal Observations 1. A minimum of two (2) formal observations shall be conducted to support the final summative evaluation. All formal observations shall last a minimum of thirty (30) consecutive minutes and will take place between September 15 and April 30. There will be a minimum of fifteen (15) work days between the first two (2) formal observations.

  • STATEWIDE ACHIEVEMENT TESTING When CONTRACTOR is a NPS, per implementation of Senate Bill 484, CONTRACTOR shall administer all Statewide assessments within the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (“CAASPP”), Desired Results Developmental Profile (“DRDP”), California Alternative Assessment (“CAA”), achievement and abilities tests (using LEA-authorized assessment instruments), the Fitness Gram, , the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (“ELPAC”), and as appropriate to the student, and mandated by LEA pursuant to LEA and state and federal guidelines. CONTRACTOR is subject to the alternative accountability system developed pursuant to Education Code section 52052, in the same manner as public schools. Each LEA student placed with CONTRACTOR by the LEA shall be tested by qualified staff of CONTRACTOR in accordance with that accountability program. XXX shall provide test administration training to CONTRACTOR’S qualified staff. CONTRACTOR shall attend LEA test training and comply with completion of all coding requirements as required by XXX.
