Vacation Sell Back. Unit members may sell-back to the City up to twenty (20) days of accrued vacation each calendar year:
Vacation Sell Back. Employees who have completed Fifteen (15) years of service with the City may “sell back” up to two weeks (72, 75, 76 and 80 hours depending on the employees standard work week) of vacation accrual once per calendar year, provided they have used two weeks of accruals in the last 12 calendar months: During calendar year 2019 qualified employees will be able to sell back vacation by completing the vacation sell back form for 2019. Effective December 2019, and during the month of December of each year thereafter, there will be an open enrollment period during which each bargaining unit member must make an irrevocable election to “sell back” vacation accrual the following year on the form prescribed by Human Resources. The number of hours that the bargaining unit member will sell back must be indicated at that time. Failure to submit an irrevocable election form shall be the same as electing not to sell back vacation leave. The employee must request the vacation sell back on the form prescribed by Human Resources. A bargaining unit member who has elected to sell back vacation but has not done so by the first paycheck in December, will be automatically cashed out for the number of hours elected on the second paycheck in December. If an employee elects to “sell back” vacation but has not used two weeks of vacation accruals in the previous 12 month their sell back request will not be fulfilled. Employees must have completed fifteen (15) years of service at the time they request the sell back. For example, an employee who will complete fifteen years of service on August 1, 2020 may make an irrevocable election to sell back vacation time during the December 2019 election period but will not be permitted to request the sell back until after August 1, 2020. These payments do not meet the definition of compensation earnable and special compensation under Government Code section 20636 and are non-PERSable compensation. Employees are responsible for any tax consequences of the vacation “sell-back”. The City may suspend this program due to budget constraints during economic downturns.
Vacation Sell Back. Represented employees may sell back to the City up to twenty (20) work days of accrued vacation each calendar year. Requests submitted by the close of business on the second Friday in December shall be counted toward the cap for that calendar year.
Vacation Sell Back. Employees may be eligible to sell back up to forty (40) vacation hours on or before December 31st annually. To be eligible to sell back vacation hours the employee must have used at least forty (40) hours of vacation time during the next calendar year. This election is irrevocable.
Vacation Sell Back. All represented employees, may sell back to the employer up to forty (40) hours of vacation a year provided the following:
1. Employee must have taken forty (40) hours of vacation within the current calendar year and have a minimum of eighty (80) hours of vacation balance remaining after the sale;
2. Employee must submit the appropriate form in November of each year to his/her manager for approval;
3. Requests must be submitted to the Accounting Department no later than November 30th of the year. Payment will be issued no later than December 31st.
Vacation Sell Back. An employee who on November 1st, of any year, has taken at least 96 hours of vacation during the last 12 months may sell back up to 36 hours of vacation accumulation as long as the employee will have a vacation balance of at least 40 hours.
Vacation Sell Back. On December 1st of each calendar year, employees may elect to sell back to the County a maximum of five (5) shifts of accrued vacation. To be eligible for this benefit, the employee must have used five (5) shifts of vacation leave during the calendar year, and the employees accrued vacation leave balance shall be ten (10) shifts or more at the time of the sell back request. Payment shall be made in January, taxed at the current supplemental rate. The vacation sell back shall be calculated at the eligible employee’s current rate of pay at the time of the payment.
Vacation Sell Back. An Employee shall be allowed to receive payment for all accumulated and/or earned vacation time during the employee’s last three months of employment once an employee gives notice that the employee intends to retire under the Rules and Regulations of IMRF.
Vacation Sell Back. All members of represented classifications who have completed at least five (5) years of service shall have the option of selling a total of 80-hours of vacation per fiscal year back to the City two times per fiscal year in 40 hour increments.
Vacation Sell Back. An EMPLOYEE may sell back up to two weeks (80 hours) of vacation annually, after 15 years of service with City, so long as the EMPLOYEE has an accrued vacation balance of at least one week (40 hours) remaining following the sale. To request vacation sell- back, the EMPLOYEE shall submit a written request to the City Manager.
