Workload and Compensation. The normal summer school load for full pay (one-sixth of the academic year salary) shall be six (6) hours per term as adjusted in accordance with the teaching load policy referenced in the above Section 2. Exceptions to the six (6) hour per term limit may be granted in cases of demonstrable programmatic need. Such exceptions will be made upon the recommendation of the academic unit administrator and approved by the College Xxxx or in the case of the regional campuses, the Xxxxxxx or his/her designee. Within these parameters, the rate of compensation shall be one thirty- sixth (1/36) of the academic year salary for each workload credit hour. The instructional overload rate (as defined in Section 5 of this Article) does not apply during the summer terms.
a. Accordingly, the maximum summer school workload for which compensation may be made available shall be twelve (12) hours for Summer Sessions I, II, and III in any combination. Exceptions necessitated by extraordinary circumstances deriving from demonstrable programmatic need that cannot be met within the instructional resources available to the academic unit or regional campus shall be made only on the basis of a written recommendation and rationale from the academic unit administrator or Regional Campus Xxxx. In the case of departments or schools, such exceptions shall also require the explicit authorization of the recommended exception by the College Xxxx. In the case of regional campuses such exceptions require the explicit authorization of the recommended exception by the Xxxxxxx or his/her designee.
b. Workshops offered for academic credit, as well as regular instructional course offerings, shall be regarded as part of the maximum compensable summer workload(s) referenced above and compensated proportionate to regular academic year salary in accord with the credit hours assigned for the instruction.
c. Regulations and understandings associated with external grants and research, teaching or professional development awards provided by the University shall also constitute a part of the maximum compensable summer workload to the extent and as defined by the terms and conditions of the grant or award.
Workload and Compensation. The Department Chairperson shall be granted an additional stipend, according to the schedule below. This stipend shall be added to the Chairperson’s salary only while he/she holds the position of Chairperson. When such Chairperson position is terminated, said termination shall be assumed to occur at the end of a regularly scheduled academic term, except in situations of mid-year resignation, recall or administrative termination (refer to Article 29.6).
Workload and Compensation. A Class Size. Determination of class size for a distance education class should comply with the standard practices, procedures, and criteria of the University, including the level of support (e.g., graduate assistants) that could be made available to faculty engaged in distance education.
Workload and Compensation. Except as specifically provided otherwise in paragraph two of this Section, part-time academic employees assigned ten (10) instructional units or fewer in any one quarter shall be paid at the part-time rate as set forth in Appendix C of this AGREEMENT, which by this reference is attached hereto and incorporated herein. Such employees assigned more than ten (10) instructional units in any one quarter shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of Section 11.2 above, provided, however, that any such employee who is assigned more than thirty (30) instructional units during the regular college year encompassing fall through spring quarters shall be given a pro rata placement on an appropriate Salary Grade. This provision excludes five (5) instructional units of non-teaching activities contained in Appendix “A”, item number ten (10). The following exceptions are made to 11.2:
1. Faculty workload assigned for mixed mode or co-requisite lecture/lab courses may be for 10 credits of student enrollment, with faculty compensation derived by applying the calculation included in Appendix A, item 3.g whereby 1 instructional unit per weekly contract hour of lecture/discussion (Mode A) and .075 instructional l unit per weekly contract hour of lab/studio (mode B) shall be assigned. There shall be a maximum of 12 IU’s for such mixed mode loads.
2. During the fall quarter Appendix C maximum for Adult Basic Education shall be eleven (11) "instructional units," and the yearly Appendix C maximum for instructors teaching four (4) quarters of Adult Basic Education in the regular college year shall be forty-one (41) "instructional units."
3. This provision excludes five (5) instructional units for instructionally related duty such as advising or curriculum maintenance that may be paid during any quarter or combination of quarters per year and instructionally-related duties which may be paid on a stipend basis including cooperative learning, undergraduate research, prior learning experience assessment, curriculum development, research projects, grant projects, and/or other duties related to individualized services or special projects.
Workload and Compensation. The mentor and entry year teacher shall meet at least once per week in order to complete all entry year requirements. This meeting shall occur at a mutually agreeable time either before school, after school, or during a common preparation time. Following completion of this requirement, and other responsibilities as designated by the Entry Year Committee, the mentor shall receive the following compensation based on BA Step 0: 0 years, 5.0%, 1 – 4 years, 5.75%; 5 – 8 years, 6.25%; and 9+ years, 6.75%. This compensation will be paid in equal amounts in four (4) paychecks during June and July. A mentor may be assigned to work with no more than one entry year teacher during any given school year. The Entry Year Program shall not replace employment evaluation. Evaluation of Entry Year teachers shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the evaluation procedure contained in Article III of this collective bargaining agreement and per applicable state laws.

A log of such meetings will be kept and will be the responsibility of the mentor teacher. Following completion of this requirement, and other responsibilities as designated by the Entry Year Committee, the mentor will be paid an annual stipend of $500 (if they have completed Resident Educator Training) in a lump sum not later than June 30 of that year. A mentor may be assigned to work with no more than one entry year teacher during any given school year. The Entry Year Program shall not replace employment evaluation. Evaluation of Entry Year teachers shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the evaluation procedure contained in Article V of this collective bargaining agreement and per applicable state laws.
Workload and Compensation. The terms of re-employment will not exceed 50 percent of a full-time faculty load, as approved by Rutgers. Compensation shall be proportional with the re-employment employment assignment approved by Rutgers, not to exceed 50 percent of the faculty member’s final year’s academic base salary. As retirees, participating faculty have no claims of tenure or other rights and/or obligations of a tenured member of the faculty.
Workload and Compensation. 2.1 The Program Review Chairperson and the Core Learning Outcomes (CLO) Assessment Coordinator shall be eligible for a one (1) course release, subject to confirmation by the Office of Academic and Student Affairs and in consultation with the responsible xxxx, for each of the standard three academic terms (fall, winter, and spring) annually. The Assistant CLO Assessment Coordinator shall be eligible for a one (1)course release, subject to confirmation by the Office of Academic and Student Affairs and in consultation with the responsible xxxx, spring term annually.
2.2 Programs that are going through the Program Review process may collaborate with the Office of Academic & Student Affairs to identify a designated “lead” faculty member during the term(s) when the program is to complete the program review process. Designated “lead” faculty for programs completing the review process shall be eligible for a one (1) course release/reassignment for one academic term per academic year when the program is completing the program review process.
