Xxxxxxx Duties. A. The investigation and presentation of grievances to the Employer to Step One (1) in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.
B. The stewards will be allocated a maximum of three (3) days a year for union business other than negotiations and grievance processing.
C. The classification xxxxxxx is required to notify and secure permission from his/her immediate supervisor to leave the assigned work station for Union business. This will not be abused.
D. The transmission of such messages and information which shall originate with and are authorized by the local Union or its officers provided such messages and information:
1. have been reduced to writing or
2. If not reduced to writing are of routine nature and do not involve work stoppages, slowdowns, refusals to handle goods, or any other interference with the Employer's business.
Xxxxxxx Duties. Duties required by the Union of its Stewards, except for attendance at formal meetings with the County, supervisory personnel and aggrieved employees arising out of a pre-disciplinary investigation, pre-disciplinary meeting, or any meeting under the grievance procedure, shall not interfere with the Union Stewards’ or other employees’ regular work assignments. No Xxxxxxx may leave duty or work for purposes of Union representation without the specific approval of the Xxxxxxx’x supervisor or other authorized management official. Such release will not be capriciously or arbitrarily denied (Discipline as used in this provision shall mean oral or written reprimands, suspension without pay, involuntary demotion, or involuntary discharge). The Union and the County agree that employee performance evaluation meetings which do not include a discussion of discipline will not create a right for Xxxxxxx representation or assistance at the meeting.
Xxxxxxx Duties. Should the Company find that a xxxxxxx’x activities interfere with the course of his duties or the duties of other employees, the Company may contact a representative of the Local Union and/or register a grievance commencing with Step of the Grievance Procedure as outlined in Section
Xxxxxxx Duties. Xxxxxxx Duties. During the Term, Baxter shall maintain the facilities and personnel necessary to fulfill its obligations and responsibilities hereunder including the duties set forth in Schedule A.
Xxxxxxx Duties. Supervisors may occasionally perform bargaining unit work to assist bargaining unit employees or in an emergency while awaiting bargaining unit employees, but this practice may not displace positions held by job classified employees.
Xxxxxxx Duties. The parties agree that Stewards have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Institute and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor or designate. Such time away from regular duties shall be used only for the prompt handling of grievances arising from the administration of this Collective Agreement and shall be without loss of pay. Subject to the operational requirements of the Institute, the amount of such time shall not be unreasonable, and permission to take time shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Xxxxxxx Duties. 6.1 Trained back-up Xxxxxxx shall be used ahead of down Quay crane drivers, however in circumstances where experience and skills are required the Shift Supervisor will have the final placement decision.
6.2 Due to skill shortages the Company may place a crane driver or deck xxxxxxx under the crane as the under crane xxxxxxx as a last resort to ensure a crane gang is deployed or worked continuous.
Xxxxxxx Duties. Should the Company find that a Xxxxxxx'x activities interfere with the normal course of his duties or the duties of the other employees, the Company may contact a representative of the local Union and/or register a grievance commencing with Step 2 of the Grievance Procedure as outlined in Article 6, Section 6.02, Subsection (b).
5.03 The Union will inform the Company, in writing, of the name of the Xxxxxxx and any subsequent change in the name of the Xxxxxxx. The Company shall not be asked to recognize any Xxxxxxx until such notification from the Union has been received.
5.04 The Company will pay for any time used by the Bargaining Committee in handling negotiations with the Company which occur during working hours at his/her regular hourly rate. Such committee will be comprised of up to a maximum of four (4) employees, or such higher number as agreed to between the parties.
5.05 For the purpose of processing specific grievances or disputes, Business Representatives and Stewards shall have access to relative time cards and personnel disciplinary records, on request, during the office hours of the Company within three (3) working days. However, the employee in question must give permission in writing to the Company authorizing the Company to provide such records.
5.06 For the purpose of lay-off, the Xxxxxxx shall be established on the seniority list as "second man", but he/she shall not use the Xxxxxxx'x seniority for the purpose of vacation preference or job bids. In a department where there is more than one Xxxxxxx, the Xxxxxxx with the most seniority shall be the Xxxxxxx for the purpose of applying this clause. In the event that one of these Stewards is the Chief Xxxxxxx designated by the Union, he will have preference over all other Stewards, regardless of seniority.
