Job Bids. The Employer agrees to maintain a job bidding procedure as specified in this section. The efficient operation of the plant requires that minimum skill, ability, and qualifications as determined by the Employer be required (the “job requirements”). Bids shall be awarded to the most senior bidding employee who has the necessary job requirements. Jobs other than those specified below will be posted for bid if the Employer determines there is an operational need. The Employer may, in the instance of certain skilled jobs, choose to select, and train employees in the jobs as listed below without requirement to bid those positions. In the event a selected employee has not been placed in the job within thirty (30) calendar days of the selection, the Complex Manager or his/her designate will be notified the selected employee was not moved. The certain jobs to be included are: Maintenance, Lead Hand(s), Trainer(s), Shag Drivers, Quality Assurance, Rendering Operators (with tickets), Hot Scaler, Carcass i.d., Break Scaler, Grade Scaler, and K-pac Operator and RT Operators. The Employer shall post notice that such opening(s) exist. Consideration will be given to existing employees who meet the skill, ability, and qualification requirements for the job. All job postings shall state the job title, job requirements, line and shift, a brief description of the principal duties, the wage rate for the job and the maximum working hours for the employee to quality (“qualifying period”). Job postings shall be from Monday at noon (12:00 p.m.) until Friday at noon (12:00 p.m.), however, all jobs shall be posted for a minimum of five (5) working days. All bids must be received during that period in order to be considered. The job shall be awarded within seven (7) days after the end of the posting on Friday noon (12:00 p.m.). No employee may bid during their probationary period. Bids shall be awarded to the bidding employee with the most seniority in the same Department as the bid. If no employee from that Department bids on the job, it shall be awarded to the bidding employee with the most seniority in the same division as the bid job. If no employee from the division bids on the job, it shall be awarded to the bidding employee with the most seniority in the plant. For the purposes of this article, the below Divisions and Departments shall apply:
Job Bids. Section 1. Where there is a vacancy in an existing job within the bargaining unit, and the City determines the vacancy should be filled, or a new job is created within the bargaining unit, employees desiring to bid on such job may do so as follows:
Job Bids. (a) Whenever job vacancies – other than casual positions which are expected to be of more than three (3) months’ duration occur in the bargaining unit, the Company shall post notice thereof for a period of one
(1) week on the bulletin boards. The notice shall contain the number of vacancies, the qualifications required, and a brief job description. Employees desiring such a position shall during the time of the positing make written application to the person designated to receive the application and shall state their qualifications for the position. All notices of vacancy shall designate the job and the deadline for receiving applications. The Company will advise the Union Representative of the date of the first day of the vacancy and also advise of when the three (3) month duration has expired.
(b) All part-time jobs being worked thirty-two (32)n hours or more continuously for a period of three (3) months shall be posted in accordance with 14.01 (a) above.
14.02 A posting is not required where the job is vacant by reason of employee absence from work because of sickness/injury or other authorized leave of absence.
14.03 The Company shall determine the successful applicant for a job positing by considering the skill, qualifications, and ability of the individuals applying to perform the required work, and where those criteria are relatively equal, the employee with the greatest seniority will receive the promotion.
14.04 The Company shall not be required to grant the position to anyone who does not possess the skill qualifications and present ability to perform the work satisfactorily.
14.05 Any employee who has successfully bid under this Article shall not be entitled to bid on a posted job for six (6) months, except with the mutual consent of the Company and the Union.
14.06 Should the successful applicant for the vacancy turn out to be unsatisfactory in the opinion of the Company after a period not to exceed three (3) months, he/she shall be returned to his/her former position. All other things being equal, all other employees who changed classifications due to the posting shall also return to their previous classification.
14.07 Only the original job vacancy and the first succeeding vacancy must be posted.
14.08 The name of the successful applicant shall be posted on the bulletin board.
14.09 Until the selection process is complete, the Company may fill the position with whoever it chooses.

Job Bids. It is agreed between the Union and the Company that employees will have the right to job bid, based on their qualifications and seniority, on an annual basis as follows:
a) Garage: Shift preference will be bid by journeymen mechanics every three (3) months on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st on the basis of departmental seniority. Apprentice mechanics will rotate shifts weekly until successfully completing the training program. No more than one apprentice mechanic will be scheduled to work on any one shift.
b) Driving Division job categories and work opportunity procedures are defined in Article 10.5 a), which may be amended as necessary by agreement of the parties. Such jobs shall be bid on an annual basis or in the event of a change which warrants re-bidding, based on employee qualifications and departmental seniority. In an effort to provide efficiency in bid run jobs, the Union & the Company will meet to discuss, and review job runs in an effort to jointly develop runs that are efficient to the operations. The Company reserves the right to adjust runs as necessary. It is further understood that management reserves the right of final discretion of determining bids. Such categories include five (5) day drivers (8-hour shifts), four (4) day drivers (10-hour shifts), spare drivers, finished product drivers, yard shunters and truck washers.
Job Bids. It is agreed between the Company and the Union that, once each year, all employees must bid and may transfer to other departments within the terminal, providing they have the necessary qualifications and seniority. For the purpose of this Schedule, the departments are defined as Grocery, Produce and Dock. The Annual Job Bid shall be held annually in the month of March. The bid will show the number of departmental openings. Each employee will be brought into the office in order of seniority to sign the bid, at which time he must sign the bid and indicate his preference. The transfer of will be affected commencing on the first Sunday of the month of April. The results of the annual job bid will be posted for at least seven (7) days prior to the annual change and the local Union's area office concerned will be given copies when completed. The appropriate Shop Xxxxxxx will have the authority to sign on behalf of any employee who is absent at the time of the annual job bid due to sickness, injury, leave of absence or vacation. Employees will only be transferred if the required qualifications are approved by the Company. Personnel transferring under the above conditions shall assume positions according to and maintaining their terminal seniority. When openings on types of equipment occur at any time, qualified employees in the department in which the openings occur shall be given preference in accordance with their seniority. This shall not be interpreted to give an employee the right to move from one truck to another, nor to give an employee a preference to bid on a new truck, but is intended to give an employee an opportunity to progress from straight truck to tractor-trailer equipment. When job openings occur in any department coming within the scope of this bargaining unit, such openings will be posted on the bulletin board for seventy-two (72) hours, Saturday, Sunday and Paid Holidays excluded, and the employees in the department affected shall have the first opportunity of bidding on such job openings and retaining their department seniority. An employee shall maintain his seniority for all purposes when he transfers from one (1) department to another, as a result of being the successful applicant for a permanent job posting.
Job Bids. The Corporation retains its right to fill positions by appointment. However, when a regular position in a classification coming within the scope of this agreement is opened for competition as an internal job bid, the following rules will apply: The bid will be posted and will remain open for a minimum of fifteen (15) days and will indicate: job classification qualifications required location whether the bid will be used to fill more than one position whether the bid will be used to fill future opportunities and, so, the period of time for which the bid will be valid A copy of the bid will be sent to the Business Manager of the Union. Selection of applicants for appointment, as a result of an internal job bid, to classifications falling within the scope of this agreement shall be based on ability and qualifications. When ability and qualifications are equal, seniority shall govern. When ability and qualifications are equal and seniority is identical, service will be the deciding factor. However, appointments in the Power Line Technician and Electrical Maintenance “A classifications shall be based on seniority. For this article only of the collective agreement, seniority will be calculated as including all continuous employment (including time bridged as per article 17.02) in one or more classifications in the Transmission Operational bargaining unit. Relocation costs, if applicable, will be in accordance with Corporate policy. Employees who are bidding for location where no promotion results will be required to pay the costs of relocation. When the selection is made, those applicants not selected will be so advised. The names of both the successful and unsuccessful applicants will be supplied to the Business Manager.
Job Bids. In March and September of each year, all feeder jobs in each building shall be posted for bid by classification seniority. Twenty-five percent (25%) of the employees in their classification shall bid weekly. Those who fail or decline to make their selection by the required time period shall be assigned. Such bidding procedure shall be completed by the end of said months. After completion of the job bidding process, a copy of the bid sheet shall be given to the union Xxxxxxx upon request. In addition to the March and September bid of each year, the feeder drivers shall have unlimited bidding. If a permanent vacancy, or newly established bid, becomes available in a building, the feeder driver in that building may bid on such openings in seniority order. Any unfilled vacancy shall be first filled from the Local 705 jurisdiction Feeder intent list. The ten most senior employees who get the necessary certification (permit) will be trained for purposes of gaining their CDL qualifications. Once qualified, these ten employees will be the first employees, eligible in seniority order for peak season and permanent feeder job opportunities only. These ten may be expanded by mutual agreement. If the company does not maintain the pre-qualified list of ten (10) drivers the company shall be penalized pension payment for each day and for each number less than the ten (10) drivers that was agreed upon. If a feeder driver’s start time is changed by one (1) hour or more or eliminated, he/she shall have the right to exercise their seniority and displace any junior employee within the feeder classification in their building. Local 705 shall receive a current, and any future updated list of employees in seniority order, that are on the feeder qualified list, on a monthly basis.

Job Bids. 15.1 Any job bid coming within the scope of this Agreement will be posted for a period of seven (7) consecutive days.
15.2 The job bid will show the number of openings, shift starting times, any special qualifications required and the date of commencement.
15.3 All applications for the aforementioned position will be judged upon their qualifications and seniority. When qualifications are equal, the senior employee will be given the preference.
15.4 The appropriate shop xxxxxxx will have the authority to sign on behalf of any employee who is absent at the time of the Bid due to sickness, injury, leave of absence or vacation.
15.5 In the event that an employee should lose his/her driver's license, such employee shall assume such Bid upon regaining his/her driver's license.
Job Bids. Annual job bids will be posted in September of each year. The bids will show the number of openings and whether they are Highway, City or Maintenance. It is agreed that within the Highway or City Department there will be specific job The Union Chairperson shall receive a copy of all bids and the list of choices selected by members. The bid will be posted for fourteen (14) days. After fourteen (14) days each employee will be contacted in order of seniority to select a bid. All employees will be placed on the bids no later than October in each year. All jobs are for a one year duration except in the case of a which will terminate at the yearly bidding occasion. Unless reasons of health are involved, employees shall not use their seniority for the remainder of that bid year when transferring for any other reason. All new jobs will be posted for a period of seven (7) days at the terminal where the work is located. Employees desiring such jobs are to make their intentions noted in writing on the job bid. The senior qualified applicant will be awarded the job within seven (7) days after the implementationof the new job. If a job bid starting time changes by one (1) hour or more, it will be treated as a new bid. For any job bids that are cancelled, employees affected may exercise their overall seniority to any position they are qualified for with full seniority within their Terminal. The Company may establish bid runs for any work that has established starting times. Automotive work to be reviewed and arrive at a rate (mileage hourly) for Company Drivers and be posted accordingly.
