ADMINISTRATION LEAVE. A principal with a minimum of three (3) years of service in the school district may be granted a leave of absence according to the following. 1. Written application must be made to the Board prior to March 1 of the school year preceding the intended leave, including specific activities in which the principal expects to participate. 2. The Board shall notify the principal of an approved/disapproved leave no later than April 15. 3. Leaves may be approved under this section for a period of up to one (1) year for purposes including, but not limited to, study at an accredited college or university related to the principal’s professional responsibilities, foreign or military teaching or administration, cultural or work program related to the principal’s professional position, or personal purposes. 4. Such leaves shall be without wage or fringe benefit compensation by the Board; however, upon return from such leave granted, the principal shall be placed in the same position on the salary schedule as he/she would have been had he/she been a principal in the School District during such period and shall maintain the same fringe benefits to which he/she is entitled.
ADMINISTRATION LEAVE. 6.1 In recognition of time spent preparing for the commencement and conclusion of the school year, the Board shall provide school administrators time off with pay during the school year as follows: 6.2 Leave under the provisions of this section shall be subject to the following conditions: a) Notification for leave shall be submitted to the School Superintendent or designate in advance. b) Administration Leave Days are taken at the discretion of the In-school Administrator provided there is no adverse affect on the school. c) Leave under this provision shall not be cumulative. Guiding Principles for Leaves in General: The following guiding principles were developed believing that we hire excellent staff, that our staff is committed to providing exceptional service to students, and that every staff member is essential and valued. • Collective agreements guide time away from work. • Employees whose work year follows the school year should not plan additional leaves that are over and above what are provided for in collective agreements. • Exceptions may be made if the reason for the extended leave is out of the employee’s control. Exceptionality and lack of control are the key points. • The Principal must ensure that the school is able to operate well for students. This means that leaves that can be approved at the school level are subject to any factors that may affect the school’s ability to effectively deliver service.
ADMINISTRATION LEAVE. A member may be appointed to a position as a principal or vice-principal for up to one school year less a day and such member so appointed may perform all duties of a Principal or Vice Principal save the formal written performance evaluation of other members. The member shall remain a member of the Bargaining Unit. Member funded leaves will be individually limited to one (1) leave every five (5) years. The leaves shall not impede the efficient operation of the school system or the surplus procedures under the agreement. The granting of leaves shall be governed by the following criteria:

NBCHS will be phased into this model in the following manner: • Year 1: Six (6) days shall be allocated to the school-based administrative team. • Year 2: Three (3) days shall be allocated to the school-based administrative team, bringing NBCHS into alignment with all other LSSD schools. 6.2 Leave under the provisions of this section shall be subject to the following conditions: (a) Notification for leave shall be submitted to the Director of Education or designate in advance. (b) Administration Leave Days are taken at the discretion of the In-school Administrator provided there is no adverse affect on the school. (c) Leave under this provision shall not be cumulative.

ADMINISTRATION LEAVEThe Interest Based Negotiations Committee of the Living Sky School Division No. invites the Division Administration Council to review the Administrative Leave sections of the current agreements and make recommendations for change to the committee, in writing, in preparation for the next round of negotiations. Issues for consideration include, but are not limited to: description of rationale for the provision 'ofAdministrative Leave; possible inequities in the allocation of leave between schools; inclusion of the term 'designate' in a statement describing eligibility for usage.   • Education Leave If required by the Hospital, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Hospital shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. Subject to operational requirements, the Hospital will make every reasonable effort to grant requests for necessary changes to an employee's schedule to enable attendance at a recognized up-grading course or seminar related to employment with the Hospital."

  • Administrative Leave The Superintendent has the authority to place an employee on administrative leave if the Superintendent believes that it is in the best interests of the students, staff, or community. 20.12-1 If an administrative leave extends beyond ten (10) workdays, the employee and the Association will be notified by the Director of Labor and Employee Relations, or his/her designee, the reasons for the extension. 20.12-2 The employee placed on administrative leave will continue to receive full pay. All rules for active employees will continue to apply.

  • ’ Compensation Leave If such determination cannot readily be made and all healthcare leave or annual leave subject to 100% payoff has been applied to the absence, the employee shall be placed on Official Leave until a final determination is made.

  • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year. 2. The following provisions were not bargained and have been included for informational purposes only: a. Because of the many responsibilities imposed on the President of the Association, and in order to enhance the quality of instruction in the classes taught by him or her and maintain continuity, the Board will provide the building to which the President is assigned with a full-time aide who is also a certified substitute teacher. b. The building principal and the President will work out a mutually agreed upon schedule for the use of the aide. c. The presence of this aide will not be used to justify absences in excess of those authorized by the terms of this Agreement.

  • Association Leave The Association shall be allowed to use up to 5 days of leave each school year for use by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association. The Association shall reimburse Unified School District 434 for the loss of use of the teacher taking such leave by paying the daily cost of a substitute teacher. The Association shall notify the Superintendent not less than 5 calendar days in advance of using such leave.

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Adoption Leave Upon request, a regular employee shall be granted thirty-seven (37) weeks adoption leave of absence without pay. The employee shall furnish proof of adoption. Where both parents are employees of the same Employer, the employees shall decide which of them will apply for adoption leave.

  • Union Leave Leave of absence for Union business shall be given without pay up to a maximum of (as per the local provisions under L19) days per calendar year provided such leave does not interfere with the continuance of efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave shall be subject to the following conditions: (a) not more than (as per the local provisions under L19) employees of the Hospital are absent on any such leave at the same time, and not more than (as per the local provisions under L19) employee from a department; (b) a request must be made in writing at least twenty-one days prior to the commencement of the function for which leave is requested, unless it is not reasonably possible to give such notice; (c) such request shall state the general nature of the function to be attended; (d) employees on a Union Leave which is approved by the Hospital in accordance with the above conditions shall be paid for such leave by the Hospital. The Hospital shall then forward a statement of such wages paid to the employee affected to the union for reimbursement of the amount stated; (e) an employee who is elected or appointed to office with the CAW, shall upon application by the Union in writing, be granted a leave of absence without loss of seniority and benefits for up to three (3) years. An extension shall be granted upon written application by the employee to the administration of the Hospital. During such leaves of absence, salary and benefits shall be kept whole by the Hospital and the Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital for such salary and the Hospital's contribution to said benefits. The employee agrees to notify the Hospital of the employee's intention to return to work within two (2) weeks following the termination of office for which the leave was granted. The union agrees to notify the Hospital five (5) months in advance of the Local Union election. The union further agrees that the requirement to meet under Article 14 will be waived. At the end of such leave, any employee hired or placed as a substitute for the employee on such absence, may be terminated or laid off by the Hospital as required, or may be transferred to the employee's previous position if the substitution was a transfer. An employee on leave of absence under this provision shall continue to accumulate all rights and privileges under this Agreement. It is understood that the intent of this article is that it shall normally apply to only one employee at a time per circumstance as noted above, and that the Union shall provide adequate notice prior to an employee commencing Union Leave of Absence. Further applications may be granted consistent with the Hospital’s staffing requirements. In addition, it is understood that any employee so elected or appointed is required to maintain their competence in the event that they are to return to the workplace.

  • Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.
