Advertising of Vacancies. (a) New permanent positions and fixed term appointments for periods greater than one year’s duration subject to clause 3.1.3, will be advertised externally in a manner to allow suitably qualified people to apply. (b) Changes in the proportionality of currently filled positions shall not constitute a vacancy which requires advertising. Refer to the Recruitment Policy for the correct procedure.

External advertising may also take place at the same time. All things being equal between an external and internal applicant, the internal applicant will be offered the position. Advertising of Vacancies. 24.01 Salaried physicians will be afforded an opportunity to apply for any vacant positions in the system. All physicians will be informed of vacancies as they arise.
Advertising of Vacancies a. Vacancies in Captain and First Officer assignments shall exist when, in accordance with Section 8-B, there is a need for additional assignment for an anticipated period of sixty (60) days or more. Vacancies shall be advertised at all domiciles as far in advance as possible but not later than thirty (30) days after such vacancy exists. b. Vacancies which were not expected to exist more than sixty (60) days, if existing at the end of sixty (60) days, shall be reviewed with the System Schedule Committee. Such vacancies shall be advertised within five (5) days after such review unless it is mutually agreed that the vacancies will cease to exist within a reasonable period. 2. All such vacancies shall be open to bid by the pilots eligible to bid under the provisions of Section 8-D. Vacancy bulletins shall state the number and status of primary vacancies to be filled; the anticipated effective date of the assignment; the anticipated dates training is to start; the equipment type involved; and the domicile at which the vacancy exists. All vacancies posted together shall share a common closing date and a common effective date. Vacancy bulletins shall be posted not later than noon local time on the date of the bulletin and shall close not sooner than noon local time on the tenth (10th) day following the date of the bulletin.
Advertising of Vacancies. 12.01 Where vacancies in the bargaining unit occur which the Employer decides to fill on a full-time basis, such vacancies will be advertised, except that the Employer may decline to advertise such a vacancy if a similar vacancy was advertised within the previous six (6) months, and there are at least three (3) qualified applicants from the previous competition. 12.02 Such vacancies shall be advertised for a period of ten (10) working days and employees bidding on job vacancies must make application, in such manner as the Employer may specify, by the closing date. 12.03 Among other things, the internal advertisement for a vacancy shall specify the closing date, the nature of the position, the location of the job assignment, the skills, abilities, qualifications and experience, where applicable, and salary range. 12.04 Temporary vacancies and vacancies caused by absence due to illness, accident, leaves of absence (including pregnancy and/or parental leave) up to nine (9) months need not be advertised. Advertising of VacanciesIn exceptional circumstances, involving the needs of individual Members and following consultation with the school Principal and the confidential notification of the Union President or designate, the Executive Officer of Human Resources may place a Member into a vacancy without advertising that position. In the event that a permanent vacancy becomes available during the school year which the board intends to fill, before advertising externally, the principal will consider interested members within the school including those members who wish to increase their contract status. How the vacancy will be filled depends on a number of considerations including but not limited to the needs of all students, the time of year, staff qualifications expertise and the impact of multiple internal changes. This clause would not apply to the staff allocations made as a result of the reorganizations in September.
Advertising of Vacancies. 76.1 The Employer will advertise all vacancies that arise where the vacancy relates to a position that, but for the vacancy occurring, would have been ongoing. 76.2 Where a vacancy arises within the Employer, the Employer will advertise the vacant position or available hours, internally in the first instance and then externally if necessary: (a) within six (6) business days after giving notice of termination (by either the Employee giving notice to their manager or delegate, or the Employer giving notice to the Employee) where not filling the vacancy will or there is a reasonable possibility it will result in Employee/s being unable to perform all aspects of their position during their ordinary hours of work; or (b) as soon as practicable (ordinarily within eight (8) business days) in circumstances other than those described in sub-clause 76.2(a). 76.3 The Employer will appoint someone to any vacant position as soon as practicable.
