Annual Vacation Bid. The Company shall allocate sufficient vacation periods at each domicile to cover the amount of vacation to be bid at that location. All weeks of the vacation calendar year will be made available for vacation bid.
Annual Vacation Bid. 1. Technician and Related employees shall have the opportunity to bid vacation periods for the entire year during the month of January.
2. Annual Vacation Bids for a particular Base, Craft and Classification will be awarded to the most senior (Company Seniority) Technician and Related employee assigned to that Base, Craft and Classification making the request.
3. Annual Vacation Bid requests shall be kept on file to be utilized should a vacation request be canceled. In the case of a vacation cancellation, the next most senior (Company Seniority) Technician and Related employee assigned to that Base, Craft and Classification will be given the opportunity to fill the canceled request.
Annual Vacation Bid. 1. Vacation periods for the year will be bid after the January annual facility bid for the next year. Employees will bid vacations by vacation bid groups at the station where they are located. An employee will be allowed to bid each year vacation equal to his accrual rate. All employees under this Agreement shall indicate their preference, regardless of their Company seniority, but actual bid awards will be assigned by the Company seniority system. The bid awards will be posted for all employees by December 20.
2. The Annual Vacation bid will be completed in two rounds by order of Company seniority in each vacation bid group.
a. Round one (1): The Annual Vacation bid will be bid in blocks of scheduled workdays between regular days off. A block is four (4) days for a ten (10) hour schedule and five (5) days for an eight (8) hour schedule. In addition, an employee may bid: one (1) DAT (day-at-a-time vacation) for one (1) to nine (9) years of service, two (2) DATs for ten (10) to nineteen (19) years of service, three (3) DATs for twenty (20) to twenty-nine (29) years of service and, four (4) DATs for thirty (30) to thirty-nine (39) years of service. An employee may bid up to the maximum number of hours equal to their accrual rate.
b. Round two (2): Any choice of days remaining after round one (1) not to exceed your accrual rate, may be bid if desired in blocks of DATs. Days bid in round one (1) may not be disturbed in round two (2). Note 1: For vacation during a holiday week to be bid in round one (1) of the Annual Vacation bid, a block of vacation, or three (3) DATs inclusive of the holiday must be bid.
Annual Vacation Bid. In areas of the Department where vacation bidding occurs, the bureau or section shall develop a procedure that informs employees of the parameters for the bid process and posts two (2) weeks prior to the bid process. All employees shall be afforded the opportunity to bid for enough blocks of time to ensure they will not lose time at the end of the year. It shall be the employee’s responsibility to inform the supervisor if the bid does not afford the opportunity to utilize accrued leave without loss of time. The bureau or section shall notify the Association upon completion of the annual vacation bid.
Annual Vacation Bid. Immediately after the annual shift bid as outlined in
Annual Vacation Bid. The following agreements apply to the selection procedures for vacations, hereafter referred to as vacation slots. A vacation year will run from January 1 to December 31. Vacation slots shall be bid and awarded by seniority selections conducted during the following time periods:
a) The Employer will post a calendar, written or electronic, representing available vacation slots for the vacation year on October 1 or the closest business day thereafter.
b) A full vacation bid will begin within during the first week of November of each year. Each eligible employee will be assigned a bid day and time deadline, taking into consideration the employee’s normal work schedule.
c) All eligible employees will bid in seniority order. Employees may choose not to bid, and pass back to the next senior employee.
d) No employee will be allowed to sign up for hours greater than their leave balance which, with projected Floating Holiday accruals, would be sufficient to cover the entire leave request. Employees shall not use leave without pay to supplement a paid vacation week.
e) The employee is responsible to contact the Employer within their appointed time in order to bid, or submit a proxy bid form to a Transit Supervisor or Manager.
f) In the event an employee fails to bid or submit a proxy bid form by the appropriate date and time, the employee will bid after the last scheduled bid of that day and before the first scheduled bid of the next day. If the employee fails to bid by the first scheduled bid of the next day, their bid time will fall to the end of that day. This process continues to the end of the bid period.
g) Operators shall bid in full week increments. Vacations may be split into periods of one
(1) or more full weeks. Single vacation days may be combined with observed holidays to make up a full week.
h) When an employee bids a full week off using single days, this will be considered a full week for the purposes of cancellation and hold downs
i) Operators may select less or no vacation leave than entitled to at the time of the bid and bank the hours, but only to the maximum accrual for their years of service.
Annual Vacation Bid. 18 A. An employee may make up to six (6) vacation bid requests, in three (3) rounds, for 19 the period beginning February 1 and ending January 31. All six bid requests must be submitted on 20 the appropriate Division leave forms no later than the preceding December 1. Employees shall 21 indicate their priority order on the requests. Each request must be for consecutive full days. The 22 combined bids must be limited to current and projected vacation accruals; bids received beyond that 23 amount will be rejected.
24 B. The rounds shall be processed as follows, and approved based on seniority in 25 classification and available vacation slots, per this article: 1 hour) increments
2 C. All employees will provide a contact number if they want to be contacted if their 3 bid vacation preference is not available to them. In the first round, any employee who is not able to 4 get their first bid vacation preference shall be contacted either on shift or at the number provided to 5 determine if they would like to have their next preference or another bid selection that may be 6 available. Employees not contacted in person (or on the phone) shall have a message left informing 7 them that they have one hour to return the call, or their vacation bid will be determined based on the 8 bid request submitted (moving to their next preferred dates until something is available.) The bid 9 process above shall be repeated for the 2nd round bid selections as well. After the 2nd round bid 10 selections, all remaining bid requests (up to four) will be reviewed for approval based on seniority 11 and available slots.
12 D. Employees will be notified by January 1 whether their bid requests are approved or 13 not approved. Employees who transfer or rebid to a different shift shall maintain their annual 14 vacation bid.
Annual Vacation Bid. 9.4.1. PROCEDURE On or before October 1st of each year, the Company will mail to each Crewmember a bid package containing vacation periods available for the next calendar year and a bid form. The Company must receive the completed bid form no later than October 31st. Vacation will be awarded in order of seniority at the Base in Type and Crew Class. A Union representative may be present during the awarding of vacation. The Company will mail the results to all Crewmembers no later than November 20th.
